Evolation Yoga

Be aware of their auto-​debit contracts. I’m a former customer of Valencia location. Long story short, they charged me full month membership right before closing + I prepaid first+last month when I opened my membership — so they charged me two month (little under 200 $) and didn’t notify of closing the studio. I’ve been «promised» refund when they closed on November 3, 2015 but every time I asked about it — I got «you will get it this week». Past forward over 4 month — I got tired of them playing me and told owner about filing a compline with bbb and writing this review. I got very nice email from owner Mark Drost — «there’s nothing to discuss. When we have it then you will have it» and he accused me of threatening him !!! What a not nice guy … :/​

Farily new studio with an amazing view! Friendly staff and a variety of classes that all compliment each other. It has a very clean feel to it there too! And of course, I love not having to drive to Santa Barbara for a class:) I am happy to be apart of this new comuntity.

This place is beautiful! The location is great for me. Hot yoga is awesome, but I hope to try some of the other classes they offer as well.

Evolution yoga studio is a beautiful studio with excellent teachers. I love the fact that there are a variety of classes, both heated and unheated. Each class begins with a short meditation/​centering exercise which helps set the tone for your practice. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone seeking a genuinely positive yoga experience. I’m grateful to be practicing there.

Insanely gorgeous view with wonderful instructors! The room temperature was great! Everyone was so nice! I will definitely be returning!

I feel blessed to have Evolation in my life. The instructors are conscientious and encouraging, the hot yoga is rigorous, and the rooms are magical. My favorite instructors so far are Martyntje Kyle, Torrey Trover, and KelleyJane Paradise, and there are plenty of instructors with whom I haven’t yet had the pleasure of practicing.
A great place to practice hot yoga (although flow and yin are also available); if you’re not sure if you’ll like hot yoga, I recommend that you try it here, in the big room, overlooking the ocean. Enjoy.

Evolation yoga new to our community, what a GREAT addition. This is one of the nicest yoga studios I have had the pleasure to experience. Equally matched with outstanding teachers, if you haven’t had a chance to experience this outstanding place, please treat yourself. Ocean view, nice.

Evolation is sleek, modern yoga studio that offers hot, flow, yin, and even kids classes. The view of the ocean from the two studio rooms is amazing. My friends and I have taken many classes here. The instructors are top-​notch and very helpful during and after classes. I heard that there will be a health-​conscious Italian restaurant opening one floor below the studio soon. Another great benefit! Lots of parking in the front and around the block. The owners are great people. Check it out for yourself!

Amazing yoga space! Both studios have huge windows that let in natural light and the far wall looks out into the ocean – allowing a really calm, bright and inviting atmosphere. They offer a great variety of classes, both bikram and vinyasa, and the teachers are all so dedicated and supportive. The studio also has showers which is a huge plus when trying to fit a yoga class into a busy schedule. I highly recommend this studio!

I was so excited a new yoga studio was opening close to my home, and with classes that actually fit into my (a mom’s) schedule. As a yoga teacher myself, I’ve been sad that the majority of studios in town all have classes at the same times — too early in the morning (before the kids are at school) or at the time when the kids need to be picked up from school. Before they opened, Evolation posted their schedule and I saw that classes would fit well into my schedule and (this is AMAZING), they offer kids yoga classes that coincide with some of the grown-​up yoga classes. I was sold, and signed up for the pre-​opening special sight unseen. Usually, things like this don’t go my way. Either they’re too good to be true, or there is some unseen catch that I missed in my eagerness to support a new business. Let me just say, my luck has changed! Although my practice started with Bikram/​hot yoga many many years ago, it has been a long time since I practiced that style of yoga. I’m more of a vinyasa (flow) girl. But I decided to try out all of the classes, and I’ve been nothing but thrilled. The Hot 90 class is a Bikram class (with a few minor alterations — a few poses are only done once and the sit-​up is different), and it reminds me of all the things I used to like about Bikram (the amazing workout, the detoxification, the ritual of it all), without all the things I never liked about Bikram (teachers who don’t offer modifications, smelly carpeted rooms). If I am going to sweat and, well, yes, suffer (?) for 90 minutes, I’m happy to get to do it in a light, airy room with beautiful floors and a view of the ocean across the street. And the teachers are fantastic and supportive and very clear. I feel amazing after every class! Same goes for the Warm 60 (a watered down Bikram class in a less boiling hot room, where most poses are done once, one is skipped, and a few are done twice). That’s the one I go to while my kids have the BEST time in the kids class in the next room! Seriously, «babysitting» but SO much more and at a great price ($ 20 for 5 classes!). My husband even comes with me on Sundays and loves it. A great family activity — who knew? I’ve also been going to some of the flow classes. Both the regular teachers and the subs have all been really good. The other day, the sub gave one of the best classes I’ve ever taken. Of course, she was just in from out of town, but I learned that she was in town because she trains Evolation’s flow teachers. That means this place can only get better and better. A beautiful addition to our town!

I attended classes on the second day of their opening. The studio was very nice and the views are beautiful. I am not a hot yoga practioner, (I am more hot flow or how power yoga), but the class I attended was really good and the instructor was very thorough in her cueing and instructions. I hope that as the days go on, more hot flow or power is added to the schedule.

Was there first day. Hopefully they will add some color to the place. Yoga and view was nice. Loved the wood floors. They need more amenities in the bathroom.
