Excellent food and good service. Locals will probably think it’s a little pricey but it’s comparable to similarly good Greek food in good restaurants in larger cities. Very much«out of the way» in what seems to be a residential district.

Very quaint, Greek décor. Yes, must use GPS to find. Service very good, price point a bit high for this area. Décor needs a little«sprucing up.» My eggplant parm with pasta well above what expected. Wife’s steak & cheese sub didn’t have much character. They are closed Sun & Monday. Split hours for lunch & dinner. In closing, order what they’re good at: Greek & Italian items.

The food is really good. I’m a sucker for a good gyro, and they have it. The negatives are that it’s a bit overpriced in my opinion, and the booze selection could be better. Also, it tends to lean more Italian than Greek cuisine, but that may not bother you.

It’s in a house. It’s cramped for space, there’s just to many tables crammed in this small room. The food is awesome. I had the Alfredo, wow it was so creamy and delicious. Came with a small salad that was really good. Staff is very friendly. Very pricy but worth it.

I had not been to Café Acropolis for approximately 10 years. The place was exactly as I remembered. We were promptly greeted and sat right away. The restaurant was empty especially given that it was peak dinner time on a Saturday evening. I had planned on having the chicken Genovese, so I ordered a Chardonnay. The Chardonnay was like an oaky throat punch. Ultimately, I went with pork and happily switched to the house cab– much better. We had calamari and a flambéed cheese appetizer. The calamari was a little soggy and the cheese was incredibly small– laughably small for around $ 15. With that said, my table mates enjoyed the cheese. I really enjoyed the Greek salad with house dressing– great tomatoes despite the season, lots of feta, and flavorful dressing. The salad was actually my favorite part of dinner. I ordered the souvlaki platter which came with a side of spaghetti. The others at my table had the porterhouse and lamb chops. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I would order the souvlaki again. The tzatziki was bright, creamy, and heavy on the dill. For dessert we shared house made baklava and carrot cake. I, for one, loved the baklava. It was super cinnamony. Our server was attentive, prompt, and courteous. One caveat: the acoustics are such that it feels like you’re being yelled at by your party. If you’re dining in Summersville, Café Acropolis is probably your best bet for an interesting meal.

Decent food, odd combinations. I ordered a pork tenderloin gyro with a side of spaghetti. Nothing special about the gyro. Spaghetti was bland. Service was good and prompt. I think this place is very over priced for what you get.

Good food and service, clean and nicely decorated; overpriced. My significant otter and I ate dinner here after reading about it on the 101 Unique Places to Dine in WV list. It’s about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Charleston via one of my favorite drives in the state, Route 60/Midland Trail. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood at the top of a hill in a lovely former home which is decorated in a Mediterranean style. There’s an outdoor patio for dining alfresco. Our server was very friendly and attentive, suggesting entrees and clearing dishes. We began w/the hummus plate which consisted of a basket of pita bread, plate of hummus, some tomato and onion slices. It was all very good, but it’s priced at $ 13.95($ 2 more for extra pita)!! It’s good hummus but even using the best ingredients, this dish should cost 50% less. Our Greek salads, included w/entrees, were simple and delicious. The dressing was not too heavy and very zesty and the feta didn’t overpower the dish. I ordered spaghetti and my otter got the Parthenon Pantheon. My dish was good but not to my liking(this actually made sense to the otter so he’s probably been hanging out with me way too long). The meatballs were very flavorful but reminded me of meatloaf, which I loathe though I understand many enjoy it. The sauce was fine but I’ve had much better. The otter suggested the meatballs were more of a Greek version than Italian. His dish was superb. It consisted of a marinated, grilled chicken and eggplant parmesan along w/a side of garlic & oil coated spaghetti.(If we go back, I’m getting a plate of eggplant parm or another Greek dish.) The otter had a piece of peach cake for dessert and he said it was very good, obviously home made. All that, and two glasses of house red and a Beck’s beer, set us back $ 110 including tip. Were the prices more in line with the overall meal, this would def be 4 stars.
