Have been racing at Summit Point for 8 years. While there aren’t much in line of amenities for a competitor, the staff is courteous, food at Chez Summit is always delicious. Have been here for track days and the catered food never disappoints. As far as the racing surface, they’ve made safety improvements which are always appreciated.

Happened to drive by on the way to a baby shower. Stopped by the front and the gal was super friendly and told us where we could go to watch a Porsche club event underway. On this visit it was no charge so we were able to watch a race in progress. Very cool! Will come back when we have more time.

Summit Point Motorsports Park has been a staple for as long as I can remember. It has a long history in the racing world, and has really moved forward to make itself modern with fresh new facilities, and they are always upgrading their tracks. For sure a great place to go as a spectator, or to participate in races. Three road tracks, an offroad course and a Go-Kart course, not to mention firearms training. It is in the middle of nowhere, which is not becoming somewhere! Close to Winchester VA so you can find lodging for overnight stays.

My old local racetrack. I’ve been coming here a few times on and off back during my time owning a few VW’s. My first real track time experience was when I originally purchased a 2006VWGTI right after high school. I have to say with the little experience I had, the track instructors were great. I’ve also taken my old Honda CBR twice during the open track days. They also hold a lot of race day events for Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, and Lotus clubs which are also a blast. Racing is an expensive endeavor but if you are a real car or motorcycle enthusiast and live in the Washington DC area, Summit Point is a must. Summit also holds events such as Hyperfest where people can watch cars drifting or drive on the track(with an instructor) for a relatively low price. I’ve never done the hyper drives, but its always a good time. VIR is really just a trip, but Summit Point does the trick. Its really not that far of a drive from the city either. Expect about an hour and a half drive if you’re coming from the city.

This review is based on my experience during the 24 Hours of LeMons that I attended last weekend. The staff at the park were all very, very pleasant and helpful. The crew running the flags for LeMons and Hyperfest were great. The facilities were clean and well stocked. I’m looking forward to going back sometime soon and trying one of the racing classes.

After waiting years to get my bike on the track Summit Point is where I lost my virginity vis-a-vis Roger Lyle’s Motorcycle Xcitement. I was very pleased with the track layout and surface, though admittedly I have nothing to compare it to. The straight was good enough for 140+ on my Buell, and that is with me leaving pleeeeeenty of time to brake into turn 1. Every turn has a nice character and presents a unique challenge, so there is plenty of bang for the buck on the main track. Can’t wait to try out the other courses!

I love Summit Point. my husband races vintage motorcycles, and the summit weekends are my favorite. the staff, corner workers, and emergency personnel are great. the coffee in the café is a little weak, but the food is ok and the staff is super pleasant.

If you live in the Washington DC area and have a hot car… this is where you go for your high performance driving schols. Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and other sport car clubs run events here where you can drive your car on the track and test your mettle. I have a friend who has driven here with his BMW club and a friend who instructs here. You can learn the secrets of «heel/toe» at a school or come up to watch a race. It’s a beautiful setting for a race… and those who have sports cars love driving as fast as possible around the track.
