Huge Cobb salad. Very fast and friendly service at lunch. Not a ton of ambiance but a great option for a fresh, healthy lunch!

My sister recommended this place. I got the Cobb salad and it was really great. I always sub dressings for a honey Dijon no matter where I get a salad. This was by far the best dressing and Cobb salad I’ve ever had. Great place!

Amazing ! Very impressive, from the moment you walk in. The staff is friendly. The ingredients are always fresh and each order is prepared quickly and efficiently. There’s always a new and interesting twist of ingredients to make each dish memorable. I usually go home for lunch., but I treat myself at least once a week here. The servings are large enough that I eat half at lunch time and save the other for dinner or snack. I brag about this place to everyone I see.

Waited over 30 minutes for an order that wasn’t taken correctly — chicken instead of tuna. Finally after inquiring, received the wrap, but it was the wrong tortilla — plain instead of multigrain. I couldn’t wait any longer so I took it. Was a mediocre wrap. I went by the reviews but I can assure you this place is not worth it. The girl taking orders at around noontime during the week probably needs to be replaced.

The Chicken Nuts and Fruit Salad for takeout was so delicious, weighed about 4lbs and was chopped to the perfect size. Going to be visiting this place often.

Ummm… No thanks. The food is far too salty for my taste. I’ve given both the lunch and dinner a try, but this place is just not for me. The most discouraging factor about this place is the price. I’ve had fresh and healthy food at a much, much, much lower price before. Not only that, when I ordered my teriyaki dinner take out one night, the food was cold. It’s not the case where I picked up my food and traversed long hours to get home. The food was cold as soon as I got it. Was I to heat it up myself? I wasn’t aware that I was buying my dinner from a supermarket fridge. Okay, fine. I am old enough to heat up my food. I get it. That’s how you do things… pre-made, cool. But the taste? You call this stuff teriyaki? It was the worst-tasting inauthentic teriyaki I’ve ever had. I guess that’s what I get for trying to get Japanese food from a non-Japanese restaurant.(Note to self: never buy food from a restaurant that is of another cuisine)

Stopped in for a first time lunch with my wife while running errands — been wanting to try this place for a bit, especially after the positive reviews. Overall, VERY impressed with how fresh the ingredients are. Everyone who’s posted saying its fresh couldn’t be more right. I got the Chicken Caesar wrap, and the chicken breast was tasty, warm, and soft. It came with pancetta, SDT, lettuce, and a «creamy Caesar sauce,» which I wasn’t a fan of. It seemed really saturated and like a Blue Cheese salad dressing. Didn’t come with anything on the side, and wasn’t that big. $$$ A bit pricey, but as I mentioned, you’re paying for a quality, fresh ingredient-laiden meal. I’ve definitely had better tasting wraps for cheaper. My wife loved her salad though — so peep her review for some salad love!

I was introduced to this lovely little star of Summit by my co-worker and I am so glad that she did me that favor. Those little sliders are the and I fell in love with the Barley Mushroom soup and me being the greedy little piggy that I am NOT ashamed to be poured some over my turkey chili. Can you say party in my tummy? The chef/owner Teri was a joy to meet and the ladies behind the counter are so polite and sweet it is like being served by family. I came to early like this place and I am thinking of splurging on dinner soon.

This is by far my favorite place in Summit. Take home dinners and lunch — fresh and healthy. I’ve gotten almost everything on the menu and love it all. My favorites are the lobster roll, pulled pork sliders with apple slaw, chicken enchiladas(yes! in NJ!), quinoa salad… well, maybe everything is my favorite! My son loves the kid’s mac and cheese(it is NOT Kraft!)-expect homemade here despite the prices. The owner/chef Teri is super nice. It’s a very casual spot with a small menu(but changing specials) and a great alternative to the heavy Italian food or deli options offered elsewhere in Summit. It’s a fantastic catering option, too.

Excellent Turkey Meatloaf Sub Special with a side of the Beet Salad Special. Beets were fresh and cooked perfectly. I am normally not a ground turkey fan but this was exceptional. Great food and service.

Stopped here for a quick salad the other day. Was really impressed by the diverse, healthy menu. I got the Southwestern chicken salad. It was fine. Quality ingredients. It was also large. However, the flavor was fairly bland. I left there not loving what I ate. The staff was nice, and I’d certainly give it another shot. Maybe hot food is tastier

Ive eaten lunch here a few times. The food is always fresh and delicious. I really cant complain except that it does take a while to get your food but I thinknthe price you pay when everything is made fresh. Its a great lunch spot!

My co-worker introduced me to this place on our lunch break from teaching summit youth. I’m a big fan of the southwest chicken salad and the chicken slider. Everything is made to order. They even are on facebook which will allow you to see the dinner of the evening that you can call ahead and place an order if you don’t feel like cooking dinner! I would suggest calling to see the soup and possible salad of the day as well as what dinner is prepared for the night!

Update 08÷06÷13: WOW!!! We just finished our Pulled Pork Tacos, corn salsa, and mac&cheese!!! Again, WOW!!! To be honest, the portions were so generous that we shared one portion of tacos and Mac&cheese. Great! We have delicious left overs for tomorrow! Where do I start? The pulled pork was moist, tender and perfectly seasoned. The caramelized onions were a perfect complement. Heavenly! The corn salsa was amazing, better than you get at Mexican restaurants. Wish we could buy it by the quart. So flavorful! At first I thought Mac&cheese was going to be too much with the tacos, but I was wrong. It was the perfect side dish! My husband just commented that this was one of the most flavorful dishes he’s had in a long time. I agree! I highly recommend and look forward to ordering the pork tacos again, with double sides of corn salsa! Well done, Teri, congrats! Hope to meet you one of these days. June, 2013: First timers. We ordered the lobster rolls and were delighted. Mostly lobster with very little filler. The lobster was tender and fresh and plentiful. The meal came with a bag of chips and a pickle. I didn’t care for the pickle, I prefer a sour or half sour, but that’s just a matter of taste. Very nice meal for the price, $ 18.00. We will definitely be back to try other meals. DELICIOUS!

WAYTOOMUCHSALT. I appreciate when a place understands proper seasoning. Clearly, someone in the back is using additional salt to compensate for flavor. Two salads were very salty. The overload was either in the dressing or added again after all the components were put together.

I’m always on the hunt for soup and this establishment has been open for over two month and I just noticed it while shopping in the white box known as The Strand Mall. The space is open, well lit, with super high ceilings. 5 tables and counter seating that pleasantly faces the outside overlooking the street and store fronts through clean full length windows. The color scheme is a multi color by wall hue of blue, yellow and pumpkin orange, white tile floor and drop panel ceiling with some track and recessed lighting. The place has an echo of patron’s conversation; the hum of vent hoods whooshing. Menu is a simple list of appealing sandwiches, salads and several soups of which two are featured everyday. Some appealing baked goods featured behind glass. Patrons order at the counter by the cold bottled drinks. Due to my on going soup mission I choose the creamy roasted tomato soup; 16oz. and 6 bucks. The soup is very pleasing; hot, creamy balanced flavor of sweet roasted tomatoes, shallots and wine wonderfully remain on the palate; good dose of herbs and perfect salting. Soup served with 2 slices of French bread wrapped in a wax paper bag. Service was pleasant and speedy. If the sandwiches and salads are as good as the soup I will be back for more! Looking forward to tasting the sandwiches and hearty salads which from observation look delicious. After review of the paper menu I see they offer order ahead take out dinners which is another service offering that perks this Unilocaler’s interest. It is likely more stars are headed for this local Summit eatery.

Absolute heaven for anyone’s palate! My son and I are budgeted to eat out once a week and ever since I discovered this place, it is THE restaurant we choose each week. Although the atmosphere is kind of stark the food is so unbelievably good I can honestly say I would rather get take-out from The Eatery than eat at any other restaurant in Summit. Let me give you an example… The first time I went to The eatery I ordered a tortellinin soup — I figured it was fairly priced and you can’t really go wrong with soup. I took my first spoonful into my mouth and was totally shocked to find that the tortellinis tasted absolutely homemade — the pasta was as fresh as if I had pressed it out through the pasta machine myself. The broth tasted like it came straight from a pot of grandma’s homemade chicken soup and the bits of parsley seemed freshly picked as well. The next time I went — i brought my son and we ordered a roast — I figured this was a true challenge for even the best of chefs — once again, I was completed blown away by the quality of the meat, the perfectly cooked texture and the fabulous seasoning. My son has always hated roast beef but he devoured this and begged me to go back to the eatery and buy more for dessert! Finally — today I went there for lunch and ordered a south western salad. Every bite i consumed burst with flavor — there was not one piece of lettuce that didn’t pack a punch of flavor to my taste buds. The salad, unlike most restaurants, was light on the lettuce and heavy on the goodies: chicken, corn, beans, tomatos, ect were plentiful in every bite. I totally got my money’s worth and my mouth is still watering as I write this. YuMMO!

I really wanted to like this place because their website was so inviting. Fresh & innovative. Maybe it’s because it’s new, but the gal at the counter when we walked in did not finish her conversation before making eye contact, nor did she greet us. We stood there and waited for her to finish, then asked if we should be seated or order at the counter? «Place your order here, menu is over there». Ok. This should have been a sign. The owner did not seem pleased. I had a slider w/grilled chicken, pancetta, caesar dressing and sundried tomatoes. It was awful. On a potato roll, not grilled chicken at all, more like poached, bland, no taste of pancetta anywhere and 3 tiny pcs of sundried tomato. Dressing was from a bottle and had no flavor. The carrot ginger soup was even worse. No taste at all. No salt, and no ginger in site. My friend had a Cobb salad, which was fresh looking, but she said very bland w/a buttermilk bottled dressing with it. The Eatery needs some work, maybe some black and white photos on the wall? has a very sterlie, cold feeling. It’s in a tough spot in the Strand Mall upstairs, and I really had high hopes. I will give them another chance and see if they improve.
