I have been coming to Dixie’s since I was in high school. When I was younger, it felt like we were neglected as customers. It seemed as if the older staff didn’t care about serving us. Maybe they thought we wouldn’t tip well, but luckily for them, we were raised better than that and DO tip well. Not all teenagers are the same. Much hasn’t changed though as an adult. The food is amazing, but it’s the service that keeps me from coming in more often.

Service was horrible, food wasn’t great(and a stray hair in mine) and prices/portions were ok. Before eating in I would have given them a 5 because their pies are fabulous but defiantly not the cooking or service… Much better local places to go for breakfast/lunch in Sumner(try Berryland Café or Buttered Biscuit) The details: Saturday morning, small group of 4, they wouldn’t seat until the other 2 people were there even though there were several tables/booths open. Then after 15min they finally said they would seat us but we couldn’t wait on the other 2 to order. Sat down they took our drink order and then didn’t come back for another 20 minutes(well after the other 2 had showed up and everyone knew what they wanted). After flagging down the waitress to take our order it was another 30 minutes without food. Asked how soon our order would be ready and was told we were next. 15minutes later we finally got our food. Very very subpar service. Would not recommend eating there.

Great service. Good food. Great place for kid’s. They made a Micky mouse pan cake for my friends granddaughter.

Big portions, however, took FOREVER to get a turkey salad, Reuben, BLT, and a pancake. 50. minutes. When we inquired, the waitress was snappy and rude, and then suddenly all service stopped to our table. No staff checked in or made eye contact from that point on. Once it arrived half the food was cold. Won’t be back, ever. not interested in waiting almost an hour with rude service.

The food when it got there was only ok. Service is horrible! It took 50 minutes to get our order he ordered a simple breakfast with gravy and I ordered a BLT.

I love this mom and pop establishment. The portions are pretty big and the prices are reasonable. I always get the chicken fried chicken or the breakfast Monte Cristo they will definitely fill you up. One thing I have noticed is that the food always taste better when the owners are there

My hubby loves this place. The Eggs Benedict, to be exact. I like dad’s potatoes, which I always have with an omelet. I can never finish my breakfast, there is so much food. The only reason for the minus one star is that when we were in a couple of weeks ago there were three kids that kept coming by our table TOO often to check on us for coffee, water, etc. Good service is hard to come by, but this was a bit excessive. It was hard to have a conversation because they were literally on top of us the entire time. Other than that, hats off to Dixie’s!

Been here 20 times. Happy every time. Food is great. People are great. Facility sucks though. 5 stars if venue changes. Always a line because of the food. Wish this place owned buttered biscuits facilties.

My husband and I went there for dinner, the service was slow. Had to wait too long for beverage refills when there was only 3 other tables. They were out of the teriyaki sauce for the burger I wanted. I heard the waiter tell another table they were out of something else, and another table that they no longer serve an item, but haven’t gotten around to taking it off the menu. On top of the slow service and over done food, my husband found a piece of parchment paper on his burger, the kind you use to separate raw meat patties. He almost ate it. The owners were unapologetic and rude.

Ugh – from the sour rag smell to the horrible service, there was nothing redeeming about this restaurant. When we arrived, about 1:00 on a Thursday afternoon, there were 3 other tables seated. I think the kitchen only cooked one table at a time, because it took nearly 30 minutes to get our food after it was ordered(burger, pancake, fruit cup and sandwich). The male server had long, unkempt nails. So disgusting! The food was subpar – my Monte Cristo had what looked like old turkey and Kraft American slices on it. What really compounded the issue was that on the TV they were showing Food Network and we were watching tons of delicious food while waiting for our not-so-great lunch. Like to support local businesses, but this is one we will not visit again.

Sooo good. Husband and I went, shared the Dad’s Breakfast(four fried eggs, bacon, sausage, ham steak, potatoes, blueberry muffin, biscuits and gravy), rolled out in a food coma. This is my go-to breakfast spot.

Decided to stop in and check it out after a tip from a friend. It was a Sunday breakfast, and it’s standing room only! The food… is delicious, large portions but not so large that food gets wasted, pretty sure the hash browns are home made. The service… well not great but not bad either, especially being down two people. Soooo, I will be back because I thought this greasy spoon was SPOTON!!! For breakfast!

I love the food huge portions great quality. Service is OK, not overly friendly and takes awhile for the food to come out but I just go expecting to wait. Definitely recommend for great home cooked breakfast. Also I wish they carried V8

If you are expecting good/decent customer service, don’t go here, the staff is rude and slow, so expect a long wait for your food. BUT, if you want a good breakfast, come here. I put up with the rude staff because thier breakfast is really good! Almost gave this place 3 stars, but the food really is the only reason to go try it out.

We tried Dixie’s for the first time this morning. I’m so glad we did! There was a little wait but WELL worth it! I had the chicken fried chicken hash brown potatoes cooked perfectly no oil and a little crispy scrambled eggs and a homemade biscuit with raspberry jam. My husband had the chicken fried steak and what was so impressive is that the meals were all homemade(not frozen like the other restaurants in the area) our waitress Kayla was super friendly and great! The endless coffee was hot great prices portions and is our new breakfast spot!

After 3 visits, this is what I’ve observed: During 2 of my 3 visits, a gentleman by the name of Dave was serving and generally working the front. Both times Dave spent 80% of his time arguing with people(employees… And I think a few customers), 10% of the time serving, 5% of the time asking people how their food was, and the remaining 5% of his time forgetting to bring things he was asked for by customers(in my case, he was busy arguing with someone, then complaining about it to a coworker. What a d-bag). He did all this both times I saw him:/ For me, the worst part was the almost constant bickering. Dave, if I want to hear arguing while I eat, I’ll go to my ex-wife’s house for dinner! Leave that crap at home and learn some conflict resolution skills! That was just rediculously. As for the food, I’ve only had lunch and dinner here. I recommend staying away from the wierd stuff, like the teriyaki pineapple burger and other over done dishes. They just aren’t that good and the burgers don’t stay together enough to pick them up, let alone bite into them. I did find the French dip pot roast to be good… But then again, I had that to go:) Bottom line for me is this: these guys are trying too hard with their food and really detracting from what could be some real quality by trying to do too much. The worst part of this place is the atmosphere. That arguing is a cancer that was literally making me sick while I was trying to eat. I even saw a touch of it the one time I visited when Dave wasn’t working. Not sure if Dave is an owner or an employee, but if he’s an owner, this place is doomed. It really is too bad. This place has/had such potential:(
