The food us mediocre, at best, and when I addressed the issue with the manager, she didn’t offer me a remedy, recourse, or otherwise compensate for the money I just wasted at her establishment. I explained that it was the first time I’d eaten there in over 3 years living in the Sumter area, but apparently she’s not interested in keeping customers beyond the«regulars» happy. Never mind the military community that keeps Sumter alive and kicking. I keep referring to the manager as «she» because I wasn’t offered the courtesy of an introduction, but I can say today, June 15, 2016, she was wearing a royal blue top with beading around the neckline and pants with a royal blue design. So, yeah… won’t be going back to Bubba’s Diner.

This place needs a crash course on sanitation and food contamination, I came here for breakfast, ordered scrambled eggs, turned out there was meat with the eggs. EW! I didn’t order any meat therefore there shouldn’t be any meat on my plate and especially not in my eggs. Won’t be back. Sanitation is not up to par

Great service even better prices and family friendly. Honestly this food is nothing to write home about but the experiance is why I will keep coming back. The icing on this cake is the in-house bakery. The doughnuts and top notch, and my kids love watching them being made through the windows in the restaurant.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. I was told by coworkers who were with me Bubba had a great lunch. We got there and they had a different menu than they have on the weekdays. They said it was a lot better during the week. I’ll copy what others have said… Everything is institutional food, like school lunch kind of stuff. I’m not sure how it could be that much better. I hear the doughnuts are good…

Oneof the worst breakfast’s I ever had. It makes me ill when some people on Facebook say they enjoyed the food because it is terrible. Sumter has very few breakfast places so I will just cook at home.

Decent breakfast, though everything is frozen/canned… including home fries. Not bad, but same as you’d get eating at the chow hall on base. Decent prices and the reason this place gets three stars instead of 2 is the donuts… donuts are phenomenal and the staff is excellent… if only they used less sysco and more scratch ingredients. Will still come back… but more for donuts than food!

Solid three star place, but basically because they do dessert and donuts really well. I would say if you wanted fresh homemade donuts then there really is no other choice. Most of the time they make the best I have found in this town, except once when I got a filled donut for my child and it was lacking the filling. Finally went for Sunday brunch and with a limited selection I would think that too would be easy to not mess up. The good part was the vegetables where all good. I think most come from a can or are fresh frozen, but if well prepared frozen is ok.

Cafeteria food at its worst. We wasted $ 17 here for a lunch that was cold and almost inedible. Needless to say, we left here and went to get some REAL food. I will NOT be returning. I am actually taking the time to review ONLY because of the staff, they were nice and friendly. This restaurant is most definitely designed for senior citizens, not anyone under 65.

Average or below on the omelet but matched the price. Awesome grits! Decent surroundings and service. They should really upgrade bread used for toast wouldn’t cost them much and would make a difference

Fast, friendly service. Eggs cooked to perfection. Great grits! Excellent breakfast! I like that the butter is on the side not the toast so you can put as much or as little as you want. Definitely will be back again soon.

The donuts are amazing but the food is so-so. Maybe it’s our fault for going on a Sunday but they had a limited menu and the food tasted like a school lunch or a from an old buffet. We are definitely going back to try it again.
