J O’Grady’s

Best burger place in town! My favorite is the P15, with tons of mushrooms, Swiss and burger in Texas toast with a side of fries. Great customer service! Been here 3 times so far and still love it!

We were in town for the Trump Rally and stopped in O’Grady’s for lunch. Very nice place, very welcoming staff, and good burgers. I tried Sam’s Way which is a burger with lettuce, tomato, pineapple, and a terryiaki glaze. Delicious! I was a little disappointed it didn’t come with any sides but the meal itself was great. A big shout out to Richard who worked behind the bar! He not only served us but gave great directions to Georgetown. He was friendly, accommodating, and kind. Thanks Richard!

We were in Dalzell for Christmas and made a run over to Sumter to Cut Rate Pharmacy for my folks. We saw JO Grady’s across the street and decided to give it a try. I’m glad we did! They have a good selection of interesting burgers that can all be done with a black bean burger for non-​carnivores like me. I love a good sloppy burger but lots of places don’t offer veggie versions. My burger had guacamole, pico, lettuce tomato and sour cream. My husband had one that had a variety of things including chili! Both were on their «salt and pepper» bun which was totally delicious — much like an «everything «bagel. Our server was very nice and attentive. They have other sandwiches and tacos and a bar! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to grab a casual meal!

Try the Buddy Ward’s sweet pulled pork tacos. They are topped with pimento cheese. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been here five times now in my few month stay in Sumter. Every time the food has been awesome. Great staff and bartenders as well. Best place to eat in Sumter by far!

I’ve only been once but I would go back. Not bad, the service was fast and pleasant. The beer was cold and the food was hot. My friends burger was a bit over done but she said it was still decent enough and all the veggies were fresh and not limp or slimy. All in all it seemed like a decent pub and a good place to go grab a cold one.

Not a good place to drink, EXCELLENT place to eat! Tons of adventurous burgers to choose from including the build your own option. They also have a bunch of great sides and appetizers (homemade pork rinds with pimento cheese). All of this with great service at a reasonable price. Taking a star away because I think they forgot to put the booze in the drinks I ordered then they charged me an arm and a leg for them!

Great service and beer selection. Nice outdoor patio seating. Pork rinds had a nice kick to them. Unfortunately the burgers left much to be desired. The build your own sandwich menu was very promising with almost endless topping choices. But the burger patties were thin, overcooked and didn’t have much flavor. The fries with garlic aioli were good. I wished I had room to try the bacon and beer ice cream for dessert.

Amazing food, great service! They make their own pork skins, of which you get a complimentary bucket when you arrive. They are so good! Then… there are the burgers! Oh. My. Goodness! There are so many options and terrific toppings from which to choose. Their fries are good, but I regret not trying the loaded potato salad. I guess that gives me a good excuse to return!
I loved the booths and the décor.
We visited on a Monday at noon, so parking was a breeze.
We will definitely return!

Eh. Definitely not all it’s cracked up to be. Overpriced burgers. The staff is kind of rude. We had a really bad experience there and the managers did not do anything to remedy it. I didn’t expect anything for free, but a simple acknowledgment or an apology would have been nice. That being said, their French fries with garlic aioli are very good.

The restaurant has a great menu but the thing that bothered us was the amount of young employees just standing around the bar chatting and texting. It seemed very unprofessional and they continually played with their hair just a foot from where we were eating. I would definitely try it again but would like to see the staff be a bit more professional and a better clean of the restaurant would be nice.

Great service! Good food! Just an all around positive time! Will make an effort to go more often now that we know it’s nice.

I’ve been here multiple times since my first visit. Always a great time. The blue cheese fries are fantastic as is the build a burger option. Give it a try and you won’t regret it.

First time eating here but it will not be my last as I had the taste for a burger while visiting Sumter. I could have gone anywhere but that is the thing I can get those other burgers from anywhere and I am speaking of certain chains that are here in Sumter. The staff is very welcoming and this is proven as Tonie was about to give me a playful whack of the menu because she mistook me for someone else. I did not tell her but she has great ink on her arm. I came in a little after 1700 as they close at 1430 (230 for you civies) and there was no wait. The place is small and quaint but not so small to the point you are brushing up against someone if it gets crowded and their is outside seating which would have been perfect today with the warm weather. I opted to sit inside.
I ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and the jalapeño ranch dressing was great with it. The onion rings were ok but not something that will wow you but once again the side of jalapeño ranch was great. I even put it on my burger which I am getting to next. This place reminds me of a BGR with all the selections on how you can build your burger. The burger was very tasty and it along with my fries came out hot. I admit it was very good and you cannot beat the price.
I like the menu as it does offer other options but this place has a foundation based on good burgers. This is good because so many places have a large menu and cannot do any of it well. There is a saying «Instead of practicing a 1000 moves once, practice one move a thousand times» and this is an idea that JO is sticking to. The bar is also great as they made a great Moscow Mule and Hurricane.
Parking is on the street but I had no problem finding a spot right in front of the store. In my opinion this is no issue.
On my next trip through Sumter this will be a definite stop off spot.

First time and definitely won’t be our last… our 29^th anniversary dinner. …didn’t know what to expect. …Beautiful building. .nice staff… then our food came… so good… very, very good. …will be telling my friends and coworkers about our terrific find!

Who knew one could find such a place in sumter! Pork rinds with pimento cheese were a great start and the burgers are fantastic. Tried a beef and a black bean, both very good. Topped off with a vanilla ice cream with bacon, stout reduction and nuts… Unreal! Please support this place, sumter needs a place like this.

I love the beer selection here! Try the Samuel Smiths Strawberry beer. I know, sounds gross, but I promise it’s not! Even all the manly men I’ve been here with like it! I love the atmosphere here. We’ve had really good service every time we’ve visited. My go-​to here are the Buffalo Shrimp Tacos, yum!
