An anomaly for Sumter on so many levels. For one thing, they serve fresh, healthy, good tasting food. For another, they actually deliver, which is a huge deal here — I’m almost positive that this is the only non-pizza place in all of Sumter that delivers which, in 2015, is nothing short of shocking. Surprisingly, even my young kids like the sandwiches and wraps here. Given that the main preference in this town is for fried, greasy, fattening food, I wouldn’t be surprised if this place doesn’t last long but enjoy it while it’s here, it’s worth it.

Slowly getting their act together. Pitas are good but the staff is a wreck. Had to witness a fight between 2 employees while waiting for my pita, dont know where the manager was. You have to order double meat or its like eating a vegan pita bc they fill it with lettuce and skimp on the rest of the toppings. Even in uniform you have to remind cashier to give the military discount. Prices listed in their brochures were cheaper than the prices actually listed and charged when the restaurant finally opened.

Made an order to be delivered, and they were quick! The only issues were they decided to add a few things to my pita like tomatoes… So thanks. Also, didn’t bring my full order. I won’t be going to a pita pit again. Thanks.

Love this place! It is a great alternative to other options in Sumter. Ingredients taste really fresh. It is a but pricey though, but a nice treat every now and again.

Fresh ingredients and friendly staff. The smoothies are so, so good! Sumter desperately needed a place like this.

Pita Pit is brand new to Sumter, so I think they have been a little over whelmed by their new found popularity. I have used them a handful of times for catering, and they have been nothing but helpful every time. My order is always ready on time and the Pita’s have been delicious. Make sure you try their humus too! My only frustration with Pita Pit has been that they advertised that they deliver, but shortly after opening they changed their catering policy to deliveries after 3:00pm. Who orders catering after 3:00pm?

Decided to write and update since I’ve been back a coupe more times since my last posting. I can tell you that things are still pretty good overall. while I think the food remains at a 4 for this review, I have noticed that the staff does seem to have some issues with keeping orders straight with the cook and vice versa. I haven’t seen it result in a missed order thus far. It could be attributed to their experience on the job, or just figuring out the best ways to deal with the logistics of food service. I think for now im going to place the service down to a 3 but I think this place continues to do pretty well overall. The food remains fresh, it is still clean inside, and it’s still cooked to order with no issues with the grill masters cooking.

Stopped in on a whim. It’s a typical order at one end of the counter, then follow your order down the line, telling them what you want added to the basic sandwich, pay at the end type of place, much like Subway. I don’t know in what universe anyone would call the bread they use«pita.» It’s 100% indistinguishable from two tortillas attached together by their edges with one side left open. Doesn’t look like pita, doesn’t have a pita texture, doesn’t taste like pita. It’s tortillas. And after they stuff these things they roll them up tightly like a wrap. You can clearly see it in pictures attached to other reviews. I ordered the tuna. I was unimpressed with the so-called pita and almost walked out when the prep person opened an individual single serving foil bag of tuna for my sandwich, but decided I’d just go ahead and get the full experience. I added chipotle sauce and some jalapeños hoping to spice it up a bit. The sauce was remarkably bland. All in all a remarkably disappointing experience. When I order tuna I expect tuna that has at least been prepared in some minimal fashion vs having to figure out how to make something resembling tuna salad from available condiments. In the end I didn’t try, just added what turned out to be a remarkably bland chipotle sauce and some jalapeños. If the sauce had been a typical good chipotle sauce it would have been a moderately tasty tuna mix. But it wasn’t. They call it the«Pita Pit.» All I can say about that is that it isn’t pita… so much not pita that I’d call it straight up false advertising — no ifs, ands or buts about it. Tortillas aren’t pita and pita sandwiches aren’t rolled up tight like a wrap. I won’t be going back. Not recommended unless you really want a wrap made with tortillas… and then don’t order the tuna.

This place is as fresh as can be. It is like the Subway of pita’s, yet as mentioned by previous review ingredients seem much fresher. They have meat, veggie and even breakfast(egg) pita options. Create your own. Wheat and regular pitas available. I only hope their quality does not go down as this would completely discouraged from going. Chicken Souvlaki and philly are great per my meat eating friends. I prefer the Garden veggie which I give a 5! They have kids menu, catering and limited delivery.
