I’m a longtime customer at this store, back even before it was a Fry’s. I’m usually relatively happy with this store. Tonight I had a different experience: we stopped to buy Powerball tickets for the drawing tomorrow. The staff person at the sales desk was selling lottery tickets to a woman, and I went to stand in line. Long story short, when I asked where to stand to buy tickets, I was told that she closed at 9 and that she had to do reports. ?? It wasn’t 9pm, but 8:55pm. So, if you close at 9, close at 9, not five minutes to 9. We went to another store to buy our Powerball tickets, and I’m not sure I’ll continue to patronize this store on a regular basis. I will shop here again based simply on convenience and the gas station, but it was a really negative experience. I was told by a floor customer service person to buy our tickets from the ticket machine kiosk… I responded I wanted to buy mine from a real person, and was told that ‘I’ll put your money in the machine for you.’ Yeah, thanks — I wasn’t amused then and I’m still not now. We went in feeling very upbeat, pooling our money to try to win the big prize, then having to get back in the car and drive to another store to buy the tickets. Big ‘boo’ to you, Fry’s, for a rotten end to what had been a fun evening.

I love this Fry’s! Sure, it’s right in the center of the senior capitol of Arizona, but you just need to figure out when to go(any time after 5pm — any day of the week). The store is HUGE! They have an awesome sushi bar with fresh made sushi, their produce is some of the best I have seen at a grocery store, and the customer service is great! Also, their overall selection of products is second to none. Recently, I have been going to WinCo for the slightly lower prices, but I may just start going back to Fry’s.

I felt compelled to write about the Budget car rental service located just inside the entrance to Frys. It is conveinent, their cars are just at the edge of the building by the gas station, and their staff is friendly and efficient. On the downside, they are not open beyond bankers hours. But if you need a car for Sun City errands, they are fairly reasonable. Why they aren’t listed as a Budget car rental separately on Unilocal,I don’t know, as they have been there at least a couple of years. As for the supermarket, they are a large store, seem to have lots of choices, friendly staff, easy checkout. If you are getting forgetful, they are accommodating, as they cater to the seniors of Sun City. Prices are great, compared to where I come from, Hawaii, and where I used to live, California.

I love this Frys, not only do they have a Starbucks inside but they have a sushi and salad bar. The sushi is made daily, and it taste amazing. As far as the rest of the grocery store, they have the biggest selection of items I have seen at a Frys, including 2 full aisles of organic items!

Starbucks inside is a pro HOWEVER they are always either slow or backed up. Regardless you’ll probably be waiting a while. The actual fry’s is clean and plenty on the shelves. Please remember where this location is, mostly seniors working and shopping there.

wish it was possible to give zero stars! the customer service here is ridiculous! the employees act like the customer is bothering them when you ask for help and there is always at least one overcharge on every receipt. pass it by.

Starbucks inside this store SUCKS! First, I was so happy to know there is a Starbucks in the store that I don’t need to drive to a Starbucks to buy my drink however; what I got is very big disappointment. There are 2 Barista working however; service is very slow & not friendly at all. I ordered my one & only ultimate favorite frap & they messed up my order. I over heard the barista asking the other barista who took my order; what is this? And replied; she just want 2 pumps of roast. When i got my order it looks like she had made my drink regular with 4pumps. I asked her if she only had put 2pump as my drink was very strong. She rudely replied; yes! I was like, i know my drink & this is not right. She then turned her back & ignored me. I’m so upset that all i want is my frap but all i got was disappointment. Threw it & walked away with no drink & paid for it. I will never buy starbucks there again!

Don’t know if all Frys Stores do this or not, but there’s certainly no such thing as brand loyalty. I’ve used a product(Spic n Span) for over 50 years and now the store doesn’t carry it. The other brands are too expensive & seem to aggravate asthma. Second, I raised an 18 year old cat on Aristocrats Cat Food. When he passed away, I started my new kittens on the same regimen. Four years later, Fry’s doesn’t carry it. My spoiled kitties won’t eat anything else. Third, Beneful dog food is .20 per container higher and the dry food is $ 1.00 higher than PetSmart. Fourth, when I go to find my favorite brand of coffee, the store has chosen to stock a multitude of Starbucks products instead. And all of these brands are more expensive than what I used. Fifth, I hope they don’t remove the Bailey’s creamer. The quantity stocked has dwindled. This store is located in a retirement area and it’s customers are primarily seniors on fixed incomes. They choose to gouge prices of new products and remove the cheaper brand of older products. Sixth, I usually pick up my prescriptions there. The last prescription I received(refills) were not the right amount of mgs. I’d have to take 4 of these pills to get the same dosage as I was taking. I feel a Pharmacist should have caught that mistake. That has caused me problems with my insurance, as well. Seventh, Fry’s issued coupons for their products which should make me happy. However, some of the coupons are for products that Fry’s doesn’t carry. Should someone doing the printing know this? This unhappy customer is shopping for a new grocery store. Any suggestions? Sick and Tired of being Taken for Granted!

If you can get past the fact that this store is in Sun City and it’s teamed with elderly customers, it’s a very nice store that is well laid out with pleasant employees. Here are some tips for a successful visit to this store: 1) Be on high alert when you come into the parking lot. The elderly are always FIRST, no matter if you were there or not, and they will walk in front of you as though your car isn’t even there or back out as though their car was on fire. They drive too fast or they brake very late so don’t let your guard down. 2) If the elderly are first in the parking lot, they are still first at any station in fry’s where there is a line too. Even if you were there first, they will cut right in front of you at deli, bakery, meat, floral… it doesn’t matter. Fortunately, the staff is very good about politely reminding people about the order of operation and the order of the line. 3) Go early in the morning or after dark when possible and there is less of a crowd. This store is VERY busy so keep this in mind. 4) Because this store is across from Boswell, it has a lovely floral department and a nicer selection of cards. Keep this in mind and avoid the high priced gift shop at Boswell if you can. If you are patient, this store can be a good visit if you keep the above tips in mind.

Things I love about this Fry’s: The cute, slow little old people. The huge parking lot with the temptation of a Taco Bell within. The great selection of spendy La Brea Bakery Bread. Wednesday’s. The vast inside with everything but the kitchen sink. Fresh lobster?! The cute, slow little old people. Things I hate about this Fry’s: The cute, slow little old people. Good grocery selection, poor service by deli, cashier, and bagger. Great service at bakery.
