This year I started playing softball in the City of Sun Prairie. I play once a night weekly with my team. This is a review on the softball program and the softball fields/facilities. To start out with the umpires appear to be knowledgable and pay attention most of the time. I have noticed thought that the pitch/strike calling can sometimes be a little different, but hey that’s part of the game. My biggest issue is the fields. They need some serious help. There are low spots in the field near frist base, second base and third base. And when I say low, I mean you practically have to climb your way out of them. I don’t know why they don’t add some dirt and get it graded out. It’s to the point where it could be a safety concern. They could also have some more picnic tables. We play on Feild #1 and there are only 4 tables total for everyone(that includes family of people playing, teams that have already played and teams getting ready to play). All of that being said, if you are looking tor something to do besides sitting on the couch, get a team together and play softball in Sun Prairie.
