Tried out The Rock tonight with the understanding it was their first night. I have worked in the food industry for 10+ years and have worked through multiple openings. There was only one server for 7+ tables plus the pool table area. She had to take orders, run food and drink, refill drinks, bring silverware/napkins, take checks, and bus her own tables. Meanwhile 2 bartenders at a bar of about 8 people and what appeared to be a manager walking around telling the server what to do(we witnessed her walk past the dirty tables multiple times not even removing empty glasses from them). Eventually the manager did begin running drinks to the pool area and some food, but during one of her food runs I watched her pick something off of a plate and eat it. In plain site of customers. This is unacceptable. Also food sat in the window for 10 minutes on average, which caused my food to be cold, the top bun to be burnt, and chips to be soggy. Food may not come out of the kitchen at the same time when a business opens so it would be more understandable to receive warm food at different times instead of cold food together. I have faith these kinks can be worked out.
