Cute yogurt shop with huge party room. They have sofas and chairs all over with big screen tvs playing Nickelodeon and a huge chalkboard for the kids. Yogurt is pretty sweet, Orange leaf is slightly better; but topping choices are better here. Service was good, and location is really convenient next to Walmart. I’ll be back

This is a place that you have to try. YOLO is good anytime… and it’s fun to be YOLO’d. Perfect after dinner, Badger games, or anytime. Found out that they do birthday parties which is great for kids. Might Just be a great place to hold a meeting… work is more fun with YOLO… especially with Peanut Butter. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed and it s a great value.

Normally I would give a place like this 3 stars, but in this particular case I’ve bumped it up to 4 stars based solely on the fact that this is a locally owned and operated family business. SUPPORTLOCALBUSINESSES! Yep, I’m one of those people. Similar in style to Orange Leaf, YOLO has essentially the same business model. But in an effort to distinguish themselves they have what they call the«YOLO Crush,» two heavy duty blenders that allow you to blend your toppings into the frozen yogurt. It should be noted that using the YOLO Crush requires putting your frozen yogurt into a cup as opposed to their bowls. I use the word«blend» to describe the YOLO Crush, but the two young ladies I was with were excited to describe it as «DESTROYING!!!» their toppings. They absolutely loved it. For the boring, old people who are lactose intolerant, aka. me, they have two flavors that were non-dairy, so I tried the Mango Tango. I enjoyed it. The slight hint of tumeric was delicious! See? I’m not that boring. *looks around suspiciously* Overall, I like this place better because it is a local business, and the folks here have a friendly, happy energy to them. Though, like Orange Leaf they charge by the ounce, which means my kid will ALWAYS walk out of there with an entire days worth calories and a lot less in my wallet. However, it’s not their fault my kid has no self control! YOLO!

Full disclosure here: I’m generally not a fan of frozen yogurt — it’s bland in flavor and for the small fortune that I pay for a cup, I could get more bang(and butterfat) for my buck at The Chocolate Shoppe or Sassy Cow. However, my daughter L-O-V-E-S her froyo, so I spend my days wandering the Earth much like Caine from Kung Fu, searching for that perfect frozen treat. I’ve been to the store twice, once on opening night and once after a grueling session of back to school shopping with my tween daughter. While still a step below my favorite ice cream shops, I feel the froyo at YOLO Yogurt Love is generally better than what I get from Menchies or Orange Leaf. Things I liked: * The Red Velvet, Toasted Marshmallow, Mint, Strawberry Lemonade and Cake Batter flavors actually have… flavor. While I won’t confuse them with my favorite ice cream shops, I though they were an improvement over Menchies and Orange Leaf. The store had twelve different varieties to choose from during my visits. The price($ 0.49 per oz.) is the same as the nearby Orange Leaf. Their customer loyalty program through Belly is on par with their competitors. * This is definitely a family run shop, with mom, dad and the kids all actively engaged in running the business on opening night. Everyone at the store was friendly and energetic. * The store was extremely clean. Several times during our short stay on opening night, I noticed employees wiping down the tables and froyo dispensers. * There are boatloads of topping options, including butterscotch chips and toasted coconut, my personal favorites. * The store has a nice outdoor seating area, though the view is nothing to write home about unless you are a purveyor of strip mall parking lots and dollar stores. Things I didn’t: * The vanilla flavor was largely flavorless and has a slightly icy consistency. The orange had a very artificial flavor(think children’s aspirin) * The toppings are located in two separate areas, so it takes a little more time to hunt down the toppings of choice. In addition, it’s hard to regulate the toppings coming out the dispensers. One twist of the knob and I had a couple tablespoons of butterscotch chips. * What’s the deal with the décor? Is there a commandment that requires yogurt joints to furnish their stores with austere modern Swedish aesthetics? And what prohibits these places from using comfortable seating, mellow lighting, and relaxing colors? Is there some kind of clandestine non-compete with the coffee houses cabal? Inquiring minds want to know! * The store offers one size of serving cup: GINORMOUS. I get that a place that charges by the ounce wants to encourage excess consumption, but the thought of filling the landfills with these massive cups when I want is a couple of ounces bothers me. 9÷19÷2014UPDATE: In response to customer requests, YOLO now offers a smaller(10 oz.) serving cup. Well played, YOLO, well played. Overall, the decent flavor of the froyo and the friendly staff left a favorable impression and my daughter and I will be returning for future visits.
