My husband is always doing jobs around the house and during a few separate jobs has asked me to go pick up some different parts. Although he explained what he needed, and sent pictures I still had no idea. The owners were so kind. Not only did they sell me the right parts but explained how these parts made things work. They then said I can call and ask any questions and they would be happy to help. We love to support mom and pop stores in our area. Thank you for everything

If I could give them zero I would. I like giving my business to local«mom and pop» stores. I needed a couple for plumbing fittings. My purchase was $ 2.65. I went to use my debit card and they told me I need to spend at least $ 10 or more. He then tried to sell me on misc. junk on his counter. I offered to pay with $ 100 bill and they«couldn’t break it». As I was leaving I now realize why these little guys are going out of business. I then went to home depot down the street and paid $ 1.47 for the parts I needed. I will NEVER go back to them again!!! Also there’s another true value on foothill much nicer.

WORTHREADING!!! I came to this store looking for a garage clicker. My car had been locked away at my apt complex for 3 days because the landlord didn’t know what kind of clicker I needed. So naturally, I was pretty frustrated by the time I arrived to the stored. I was greeted by Cathy. I explained the situation to her and she simply asked me to give her my landlords # so she can call and talk to him. Cathy is familiar with most of her customers since they are the neighborhood hardware store. Of course, my landlord was no help! This is where the customer service was outstanding. Cathy offered to drive me back to my apt with a clicker she thought would work. We stood out there for 15 min trying to figure it out lol. But at the end that didn’t work either. True Value does not do refunds. She did not feel comfortable selling me a clicker she knew wouldn’t work cuz I would not have been able to get my money back. Instead she drove me there to test it out!!! Well I was on my lunch break so after we failed opening the garage she drove me back to work!!! How sweet is that?! Towards the end of my shift she called me at work with an idea. The store closes at 6pm. Same time I was off work. She said she would wait for me so I can give the remote another go. I went… I tried the new one and still nothing. This was about 8pm. 2 hours after closing!!! She let me go back to return the non working remote and swap it for a different one. At this point I am just borrowing remotes. The last one worked finally!!! Cathy was so sweet and helpful she even let me stay home and pay for the working one the next day. How awesome is that? I have never in my life experienced service like this anywhere! She went above and beyond for me. And I absolutely appreciate it. These are the kind of people that deserve our business.

These guys are awesome! I wanted some screws and did’t know what to get, I showed them what I was trying to replicate they spent time with me to resolve my issue(which is very rare these days) Kathy at the counter is very helpful she knew everything their store has and where to find it. I really appreciate your efforts. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Negative stars for them. I did not mind the price. Cause my customers pay for those parts. But the owner refused to accept my credit card. Just because I needed a sprinkler head for a TORO sprinkler. He said your going to mangle it. Well I went somewhere else. The part worked and cost me less. They lost my business. I had many times stopped and bought small items from them. Since the guy was a jerk, never again. Sun Garden on Lankershim had the part, same thing they had for 2 bucks less. I really wanted to gives them a chance. Cause I own a small business too.

I have no idea why no one has reviewed this place yet. Yes, it’s tucked away a bit, but not so much that no one sees it when driving by. It’s a really convenient neighborhood hardware store. They cut keys(as per their website), among other things. They don’t have every single thing like Home Depot or Lowes would, as they are muuuuch smaller, but it’s super convenient when you need a last minute project for your DIY project. Plus, I prefer supporting smaller stores than giants like HD or Lowes. I suggest everyone stop by here, if only for a little look see, so you can know what they have in stock for future use. ;) Location is extra convenient, right off the freeway if you’re coming up the 5 North, and next to Lucchese’s. stop by and get a sammie for lunch, then pick up the nails you needed. FYI, they do have odd hours(both businesses, actually). They’re apparently closed Sundays, and only open from 8:30AM to 5 or 6PM. Call ahead.
