Don’t waste your time or your money. Worst sushi I’ve ever had. I am a major foodie and this place was a huge disappointment! I bet they paid people to give them good reviews unless people really don’t know good sushi. I hate leaving bad reviews but I had to on this one :/

Came here based on Unilocal reviews since there is No menu anywhere online to be able to see what the sushi is or anyway to know they don’t do «regular rolls» I guess they custom make even the most basic rolls. I ordered what I order at every single sushi place for the past 29 years of my life. Philly roll and baked salmon roll, both were off. This is my first time in over well over 100 times that the baked salmon roll came out not baked, but with rice and some cooked salmon salad or something on the inside. Absolutely disgusting, I had to throw it away it tasted worst than canned salmon!!! I wouldn’t feed that to a cat. Every single time I order that anywhere it’s a Cali roll with baked salmon On top BAKED so of course I assumed it would be this … Wrong. Also the Philadelphia roll is salmon cream cheese and cucumber here not avocado !!! And they put ginger in it as well which overpowers the whole taste… UGH! Never again. Ruined my lunch.

This place is a hidden gem. It is in a little unsuspecting plaza type of setup that looks a little sketchy — which was the reason for my months of hesitation at trying this place. However, after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. The food, the presentation, the staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant is just as great as a «well known» sushi place. It was also decently priced. My friend and I really enjoyed our experience. We will definitely be back.

Came here to enjoy some sushi on International Sushi Day and I was pleasantly surprised. This food is delicious. Both my son and I ordered the lunch specials. I had. Three item plate with California rolls, tempura veggies and teriyaki salmon. It also comes with steamed rice, salad and miso soup all for $ 11.50! Awesome. We also ordered the Dragon Rolls and Crunchy Rolls. It was all very good. Now, I would have loved to give them 5 stars but they left my rice off by mistake and my son didn’t get his soup. I also had to ask for water about three times and I never got my fork(I do not use chopsticks very well lol) it was pretty busy and I saw the server was multi tasking so I gave him a break. I’ll definitely come back because the food was good.

Great hole in the wall place! Well, I was a little put off by the riffraff hanging around the parking lot behind the place, but I’m sure glad I didn’t let that stop me from trying Sushi Dragon! Wonderful, fresh sushi prepared with passion, and super reasonable prices. My husband got a combo with spicy tuna roll and chefs choice sushi and every piece was perfect. Definitely will be coming back. Don’t let the décor/location deter you :)

I have been coming here since I was about sixteen, and this place honestly never dissapoints. The food is and continues to be amazing. The prices are very reasonable in my opinion. However, the best part is the customer service. Tommy the Sushi Chef always looks out for you. He asks about your day, and many more. He really cares about his customers. A few times and you’ll see why this place is so good. The park is by far the only downside being in such a small plaza, but it doesn’t take away even a star considering how amazing the place is. You will love him and all the people working here.

Literally a hole in a wall but man are they good. Really cheap too! Plenty of parking though. The cuts of meat and the flavoring was excellent! The décor could use a make over. The staff and sushi chef were so accommodating. I invited a few co-workers and it turned into a 9 person excursion so we caught them off guard. It was a 2 hour lunch(We got there at 12 on a Thursday afternoon). Its a small place so there were 3 booths and 4 two person tables. Then about 6 at the counter. Next time I will probably pre-order(we are only 5 min away) We grabbed a to go menu for next time. I will definitely go there again! They do deliver too.

I just came here with my grandma. Small little place. Found it on Unilocal we where by the area. But like they say the little whole in the walls are the best. Sushi was really good. Happy hour from 4 – 7. The chef is the owner. Super nice. we talked about our kids and each other family’s. The lady who took our order and drinks was really sweet. We ate alot of food. Price was not bad for all the food we ate. I would definitely come back here. Great local place to come get your sushi on. Sushi and service. A+

Small location in the middle of a rundown part of town. Don’t be fooled by the location… the food is great. Try the Jimmy Roll when you’re here. So delicious. They get four stars simply because I think the menu is a tad overpriced. The pork gyoza were a bit oily and chewy. The Southern California roll was chewy too. I like my tempura slightly crunchy. Overall this place is a good find. We came here during happy hour and still ended up paying $ 50. Eesh. That hurt. Lol.

Sun Valley is in some ways an improbable location for Japanese Sushi run by a real live Japanese Sushi Meister. Vineland is chock full of eateries that serve tacos, enchiladas, maybe even birria or a huachinango a la Vera Cruzana, but like a mirage in a fading little strip mall, Sushi Dragon metes out a flurry of excellent raw seafood, rice vinegared Sushi rice, Tempura, and other Japanese delicacies. The Sushi bar is limited with only about 6 chairs so if you want to see the Master at work creating Sushi magic, arriving before 6pm is de rigueur. Also the added benefit is that there is a «happy hour,» a specially priced menu of beer & Sake(sah keh) that goes with an assortment of snacky foods also listed in the happy hour menu which runs until 7pm. So the early bird does get the worm at Sushi Dragon. I opted for the chilled Sake, Hakutsuru, in the large 8oz Tokkuri or Sake carafe. It is a clean bouquet that has a hint of Sake Kasu(lees), and is clean & astringent with a sweet, neutral after taste. Hakutsuru goes well with Sushi & Sashimi & acts as a good palate cleanser in between bites to refresh the mouth. Generally, like drinking a series of wine or Sake, it’s good to first drink the delicate, nuanced first & work your way toward the strongest tasting. Sushi/Sashimi may also be better enjoyed by following the same method. 1) I started with the Aoyagi(ah oh ya ghee) or Orange clam which looks like a huge cockle about 4 to 5 inches across. The flesh is firm, yet supple for the finger shaped portion, & velvety soft in the round cuts with a lively sweet, sea kissed minerality. I asked for Yuzu Kosho-, a purée of the zest of the Yuzu, Japanese citrus, & pureed green chiles, which is a good gaistrique with piquancy that is a good contrast to the Aoyagi. Accompanying this elegant Sashimi were thin strands of Daikon or Japanese giant radish, and carrots. These acted as a refreshing counterpoint to the meatiness of the Aoyagi. 2) Took a break from the raw, and ordered Gyoza(ghee yoh zah) which are dumplings filled with finely minced pork, cabbage, onions & flavoured with some garlic, pepper, touch of ginger. The Ponzu(pone zoo) Sauce was a mixture of Sho-yu(soy sauce), lemon juice & touch of Japanese rice vinegar. Again, the Ponzu acted as a gastrique to liven up the porkiness. 3) One of the specials of the day was the Hon Maguro which is Bluefin tuna. I requested to have the fattiest portion which was close to Chu– Toro or medium fatty belly to be chopped up with green onions and put into Temaki or handroll Sushi. Chu– Toro is meaty, beefy, slightly aged so that it smells a little of prime aged beef. The addition of the funky green onions is a great pairing of two strong tastes that when paired together create a satisfying earthy, meaty, blood based minerality for the true carnivore. 4) The last dish was the Tempura Calamari. The batter is super light, thin, & crunchy. The oil that it is fried in is fresh & sweet. Some unethical restaurants use the oil to fry in until it is so full of the previously fried ingredients that the oil starts to taste rancid & old, but not at Sushi Dragon. The last dish was paired with Koshi Hikari beer from Japan that is of medium body, smooth, slightly sweet, with mild hops adding a slight bitterness to balance out the sweeter components. Refreshing yet substantial so that it was ideal drinking in between bites of the Tempura Calamari. The Sushi Chef, his assistant, & waitress were all so very accommodating & friendly as well as being able to see ahead & give service where it was needed. The clientele at the Sushi bar was also amiable & into friendly repartee. Sushi Dragon is an unpretentious restaurant where the Sushi is very good & the atmosphere is mellow & laid back. Great place to unwind & have a nosh while tippling on some Sake.
