First of all, my mistake I thought I was calling Allen Plumbing and asked for Lamont. Wallace answered, said this is Wallace and asked what did I need. Not super friendly. I had a weird feeling and should have checked the phone number right then, but I thought maybe this was a family business. This proved not to be the case. I had explained the scope of my work and we agreed on a time to meet early on a week day. Wallace showed up ½ hour early. I was not ready. Like most people my mornings are hectic, and I felt this was very unprofessional. Wallace took a look at my job and threw out a couple of prices for each section of the job. I was a little shocked at the quote, feeling it might be high for some of the work, and confused as to what the actual cost would be. I indicated I was going to get a couple of quotes and asked if he would give me a written quote. He said I should get a couple of quotes, and then said he didn’t care if I called him or not. Really?! Through out my dealings with Wallace I felt he was arrogant and condescending. Wallace will not be doing any work in my home.

My sewer was backed up. Called them at 4:30 pm on a Saturday. The guys arrived about 10 mins later. They snaked the line for a while and couldn’t get it unclogged. They came back on Sunday morning at 8:30 am and tried to snake the line again. They determined the problem was a collapsed sewer line. This part blew my mind. They felt the ground for vibration, pulled the snake and stretched it out, and began to dig. They found the line and the problem almost immediately. The hole was four feet deep and five foot long. The guys fixed the damaged section and were on their way. The price was fair as far as I was concerned and well below what they estimated. I will us these guys again in the future.

Needing a plumber is never a good thing! A Leaky bathroom sink that kept setting off the waster sensor alarms had me in need of a plumber. Since it was an issue covered on my home owners warranty I didn’t have a choice on which plumber to call. I was given Van Allen Plumbing’s phone number and a work order number. I was concerned that it took 3 days to get me on their schedule — they are extremely busy. I was pleased with their honesty when they gave me a large window for their arrival time as I was not the first appointment of the day … Between 8−10am. At 730 my doorbell rang and it was literally the plumber coming to fix the sink. It was an easy fix …, don’t judge I’m not a plumber and with all the water issues in my building I didn’t want to do a ghetto fix! By 745 the sink was fixed & tested, I paid via check(they do not take credit cards at this time) and they provided a receipt and left! I hope to never use them again but leaks happen and when they do I now know who to call!

Freezing temperatures and had frozen pipes from the ground up. Called Wallace who referred me over to Mike who answered immediately from another job. He was here within 90 minutes, very professional and got the job done effectively and affordably. A+ service!

These guys were amazing. Courtesy, swift and thorough. I appreciate their customer service and efficiency. They really put me at ease when my water heater went out and got it fixed quickly! Would definitely recommend them!

Wallace and his team are awesome. I first called them out to set a new tub and reconfigure my shower valve in a bathroom I’m remodeling. They showed up on time, provided a fair quote in a timely matter, and performed excellent work. I called them out for a second time to fix a leak in my second bathroom. Same excellent service. Most recently I called them for a leak in my third bathroom(yes my house is old). They came out on less than 24 hours notice and fixed the issue. Responsive, fast, and follow up. Ten thumbs up.

They called me within a couple of days and set up an appointment to meet me on Monday May 20th at 7:00 am. They told me that they another job just down the street so it would be easy for them to just come over and check it out. They didn’t show up. So I called that afternoon and the apologized and said they would be at my house on Tuesday May 21st first thing in the morning. I had to be to work at 7:30 so my roommate met them and showed the plumber what needed to be repaired. He called and got the go ahead from the warranty company for 2 of the 3 repairs we needed. He told my roommate that they would get a hold of us by the end of the week. By the afternoon of Friday May 24th I had not heard from them. So I gave them a call and they said that obviously they would not be back that week, but would give me a call first thing the following week to set something up. Well the following Monday was Memorial Day, so of course I didn’t hear from them which wasn’t not a problem since I didn’t expect it. But I didn’t hear from them all week. So on June 3rd I called the home warranty company and explained the situation. The rep at the warranty company called them and was told that the plumber had been trying to get a hold of me but I wasn’t returning their calls. I have no record of them calling my cell phone nor my work phone. She gave them my number again and I was told they would call me that very day. I didn’t hear from them until Tuesday evening after I had gone home from work and he said that he was pretty open the rest of the week and could get it done. Please call as soon as possible to set something up. Of course they left the message on my work voicemail so I didn’t get the message until Wednesday morning. I called him as soon as I got the message, but by that time he told me that he was all booked up but could come out at 7:00 am on Monday June 10th. Well here it is June 10th and he didn’t show up. I have called my warranty company and been reassigned to a different plumber, but I will warn all my friends again using this company. If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible customer service. **Update to this review*** The plumber from Van Allen showed up this morning to finish the job before the new company from the warranty company contacted me so I let him finish the job. It does not change my opinion of this company but I wanted to give the full story.
