My family goes to the Firehouse at least once a week. The food is great, and they have bands on most Friday’s and some Saturday’s. It’s a really fun place. The servers are terrific. I only have a couple things that have stuck me as opportunities. First, as all reviews state the burgers are huge and tremendous. Don’t get well done burgers. They are so thick they start to taste like meatballs if you get them well done. Also, the barbecue sauce on the Cowboy should be changed. It has too much corn syrup in it. Please get a high quality sauce, like the the one they have at the Barbique Shack in Westerville. It will change that burger to legendary status! The burger is great but the sauce detracts from it. Also, please stop charging for sauces on wing night. If you can’t make money on the wing special, you shouldn’t offer it. Paying for sauce seems petty. Would you charge for ketchup on a burger special? I know my comments sound like I may have issues, but keep in mind we are there at least once a week. Lots to love about the place! Try the chili. It’s the hidden gem! Don’t order a cup. You will wish you had the bowl. Ask for it «loaded»! Enjoy!

My first visit to Joe’s Firehouse Tavern was on 12÷19÷15. I would call it more if a bar than a tavern but it was clean and the staff was very friendly. My husband and I both had burgers — I had the Bacon & Blue with the waffle fries, my husband had a Build Your Own Burger with the sweet potato fries. Both burgers were cooked perfectly and very tasty. My Bacon & Blue could have had a few more mushrooms and blue cheese crumbles for the size of the burger but overall it was a great burger. I loved the waffle fries. The sweet potatoes fries were just OK and came with a weird sweet sauce(maybe trying to mimic a marshmallow topping?). Would definitely return for the burgers.

Love this place. Fun atmosphere, almost like the«cheers» of sunbury! Try the spinach dip, it’s my personal favorite!

Awesome burgers. Friendly and engaging staff. Nice variety of beers for a small town tavern. The Roll Call and Hazmat burgers rank right up there to the trendy burger joints. Actually bigger and better. Very fair prices and patrons are friendly and down to earth. Always make new acquaintances there. Great for lunch too.

I was excited to come here after reading all the great reviews but unfortunately our experience didn’t live up to all the hype. Husband’s draft Shock Top was warm, and the waffle fries were good but cold. I will say if you like big fat burgers they are delicious here! We also thought the boneless wings were tasty. Maybe we went on an off night. I’d be willing to try it again. It’s just hard to get excited about a place when you got served warm beer and cold fries.

Great burgers. Not from the area and took a chance but well worth the stop. Decent beer selection. Fast and courteous service.

Slow service. Got a salad with blacked salmon and asked for no croutons. I got croutons and only about 7 sunflowers seeds. The salmon was tiny! About two ounces for $ 4.99. And don’t be fooled. The«hand cut» fries are the same US Foods fries you get everywhere else.

Pro — Hamburgers are great! Three-quarter pound is the perfect size. Although inconsistent in how prepared on several visits to this restaurant — burgers have always been above average. Favorites: «The Cowboy» and«The FDNY» — Wings are decent — best sauce is the Blazin Chipotle — Nice décor — appreciate the tribute to firemen décor Con — Beware: charged for condiment without notice. We ate here recently and told the server we needed a little bit of BBQ sauce for our Cowboy burgers. The server brought out two 4oz cups of sauce! Then added $ 1 to the bill and did not tell us about the charge. At a minimum, the server should have let us know about the up charge when we asked for the sauce. — Have tried many items on the menu — only recommend the burgers and the wings.

Solid 4 stars. Service was great and food was just as good. Burgers was very very good. I had the steak special and it was right on point. A welcome meal for our traveling family. Well worth finding this place and checking it out.

Stopped by after looking at houses and was happy with what they have there. Portions are big and beer selection is good. They worked with us for our son’s gluten free food too. Ambiance is good. We will be going back.

Finally dropped by today for lunch, and was hugely impressed with the burger. Best I’ve had in a long time! Come hungry, they serve a ¾ lb behemoth! It was cooked perfectly, had great quality flavor and the price to value ratio was right in line. I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as good, and will be back soon to test that theory.

We’ve been to Firehouse Tavern 5 or 6 times and each time we have been pleased. The firehouse memorabilia décor is fun. The service is friendly, and the food is AMAZING. I love the blazing chicken salad, Mac & cheese, and pretzel hoses. My grandma had the fish and chips was great. It was large and appeared to be good quality fish. Large selection of beers with good prices. Also has a nice party room. :) Great place tucked in the Sunbury square. We make the trip from Johnstown just to go there!

We walked in on a Wednesday evening and found the place full with people waiting to play trivia. There where, however, a few open tables in the second bar area located up the back stairs. Unfortunately this meant we did not really experience the overall atmosphere. Our server was nice and we had our drinks and meals in good time. My fish was nice and crispy with good tartar sauce, but the fries were almost raw. He said the wings were just okay with the breading being of a variety some may like and others not so much. I lean towards a 3.5 but rounded up based on potential.

I love great burgers and I know great burgers… This place has the best burgers in Central Ohio. I think they put crack cocaine in them(Joke!) Seriously good burgers– nicely sized– moderate price, but they should include fries in price— c’mon folks with such a great product. why charge folks for the fries? Great service — always crowed.

3.5 stars. Interesting tavern with a fire house theme. Certainly is a nice feel inside — makes you feel at home for sure. It’s clean and tidy yet still has a bit of divey-ness and local tavern feel. Let me start by saying the service was fabulous. It’s what warranted the additional half star. Our waitress(who was also the bartender) was friendly, helpful and just really good at her job. We tried a few apps and I got the wings. The apps were ok, fried pickles I probably liked the best but nothing special. The wings were quite small for how expensive they were — $ 10 for a dozen. The wing sauces were pretty good, however. They talk up the beer here but I didn’t find it to be especially good. They have a lot to choose from, but they didn’t have and good local crafts or anything. I can imagine this is probably one of the better places to go in this small town, and if I am driving through again next time I will opt for a burger, sounds like that might be what they are best at.
