I don’t even wanna start about the hotel itself. The buffet and food were amazing and that’s the only reason they get 1 star. The hotel was a total flop house dump that also houses low income or homeless people or something. Our room was small, not in the least bit charming or comforting. Looked like it had been renovated by cretins. There was an overwhelming chemical smell in the room the entire time we stayed there that permeated everything. The bed was shaky, lumpy and made a ton of noise. The carpets were filthy and pretty sure blood stained. The furniture was 1990s resale from Rent-A-Center or something. I felt grossed out and filthy the entire time. The upsides were the new shower and the staff was nice and accommodating, but man oh man what a weird experience. Just stay at a Motel 6.

Was treated rudely by the hostess. I don’t like going to a $$$ restaurant and being mistreated so I left.

We decided to try this restaurant for my daughters birthday last night. The food could not have been any worse. The mashed potatoes were instant, the drink was watered down, the steak was improperly cooked twice, the lasagna was cold in the center, and I couldn’t even taste the hummus it smelled so disgusting. I have never spent $ 146 to be treated to such atrocious slop. The service was slow and with a major attitude. You’d think I had asked the waitor for a two headed dog when asked for steak sauce; as though he’d never heard of it! They were out of half of the itms on the menu. If you pressed me to pick something I actually liked, I would say the front desk clerk was nice.

The desk clerk did a good job of seating us. The place was not crowed. 15 + minutes passed with no service. Newer arrivals were were waited on. We left. Very loud group. Went to Front Street Station.

Three of us stopped for lunch on Valentines Day. Fish n’ Chips, salad, chicken and waffles. All great tasting. Service was excellent, prices reasonable, generous portions and setting was very clean & nice. Loved it!

Pretty interesting place in an old hotel(not sure if the hotel is actually open — but I would hope not) Took us a while to get seated and just a few people were there — Took a while to get our lunch order. The food is amazing with an array of selections(Steak, seafood, sandwiches, pasta, salads) Atmosphere is nice — Parking sucks! Prices are moderate for the area — not a bad place it is definitely a must if in Sunbury because you don’t have many other selections!

Ate here after attending the Sunbury River Festival based on Unilocal reviews. The restaurant didn’t disappoint. Friendly service(we ate in the bar) and really good food. Portions were large at a reasonable price. My husband had a NY strip steak special with Gorgonzola sauce and it was tasty and cooked perfectly. I had Ahi tuna which was also very good. If you’re in the area and looking for a great meal come here!

We discovered the Edison as we were traveling to Upstate New York and needed a place to have dinner. A local shop-owner recommended The Edison and we enjoyed their delicious fish fry. We were fascinated by the fact the hotel played such a pivotal role in the work of Thomas Edison. We would return there time and again if it were not for the fact we live hours away!

This is a sleeper. Really good food at a reasonable price. I have not been here in years(about 15) and you never hear about it as a good place to go. I saw a review on FB and thought I would try it. Been there twice last week and it is really nice. Décor is early 1900’s. Of course based around Edison and his stint here. Atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. Food is very good, The menu is sandwiches, sides like fries and chips for the lunch menu. But the preparation is above par. The dinner menu is also what would be local choices, steak sandwiches, steaks, seafood. Again, the preparation is above par. For lunch, my wife and I had a humus sandwich with fries and a baked haddock sandwich with chips. The fries and chips are excellent. Fries cooked in very hot oil so not to absorb much oil and kettle cooked like chips that are different than any I have had, really good! Haddock was perfectly done. The hummus was good also. My wife thought there was to much cumin, but I liked it. We traded sandwiches half way through lunch. We came back two days later with friends and three of us had ham loaf with potato wedges and veggie. Really good. The fourth had fried haddock and it was great. This place is excellent for the area. In addition, the service is great, waiting time is fairly short and the staff is friendly. They also have a bar and dining area which I am going to experience soon!

Good, but for more of an older crowd. For our taste, the menu sounds a little more impressive than the actual execution presents, so we find better meals elsewhere. Always a local favorite and it’s an impressive old building, if a little dark and dated.

Best food in the area. Gourmet touches to daily specials make them a cut above the usual fare. More famous for all you can eat family style Sunday dinner meals, ignore them and order the specials or regular menu items that have more imagination. Chicken Marsala is always good. Loved the roast pork. Cranberry salad is to die for. Saturday had grilled prime rib with mushrooms and baby fresh asparagus. Fabulous. The Edison has quickly become a favorite. Service is good, historical building is beautiful inside. Prices are low to low-moderate, portions are large. A true gem!
