Waaaaaaaaah :( This park has so much potential to be amazing… what the hell happened??? First off this park follows the Rio Grande(and believe it or not is actually FULL) which is already amazing, but it needs so much work. There’s these exercise stops that follow some of the sidewalk. You know, like monkey bars and balance beams. There’s one that I don’t quite understand and that’s the bar for squats… it’s about a foot or so off the ground and there’s a vertical pole in the middle that you’re supposed to use to balance yourself while doing squats, but I feel like it actually causes me to lean forward and look like I’m practicing stripper moves. Also there’s one that’s called«The Vertical Ladder», but aren’t all ladders vertical? If it was horizontal that might be something to mention. Always interesting to go around and read the different fitness signs. Anyway continuing on… they’ve planted some trees and I hope they continue with that because shade is always nice in EP. There could just be more landscaping in general and possible paving of the parking. More seating and trashcans would be nice. And the basketball court needs to be completely redone. People don’t really swim in the Rio Grande here, but honestly I don’t know what people are scared of. As many eerily looking rivers and lakes I swam in as a kid, the Rio Grande looks safe enough. I think if they fixed up this park and had someone renting out paddle boats and inter-tubes, this could be a totally profitable park.
