Enjoyed their Sunday morning brunch. Sad they removed the cilantro chicken salad from their menu.

I’m absolutely in love with this place! The view and food is amazing. Usually hard to find both in one location. Lots of parking and really cute wine bar inside. Great place to have breakfast lunch or dinner. You can even call it a quick getaway. unfortunately the only downfall is that lunch ends at 2:00. I hope they change that soon!

Malibu wines hosted a «movie night» here. This was a complete joke. NOTASADVERTISED. This«outdoor» movie night was held on the back patio of the restaurant. The designated area had room for 6 or 74top tables; everyone else had to sit on the concrete floor. I expected this to be somewhere on the grass, in an open area. Not 2.5ft away from a party of 20 having dinner to celebrate a special occasion. Overall super disappointing! Will not return!

The view is amazing but the service was extremely slow. We had reservations for 9:30 and our orders weren’t taken for an hour. When the food finally got to us, it was cold. The only thing that saved the poor service was the beautiful view.

You can’t go wrong with a table on the patio! It’s a great place for lunch & dinner. The Irish nachos on the appetizer menu is a huge portion, enough for 4 – 5 people. Next time I’ll take pictures of the food. Tonight just enjoyed sitting outside with the family & a nice breeze. What’s to say? Our server tonight was great & had a good sense of humor. I had the hamburger(huge) the brioche bun was über fresh, the sliced avocado was a perfect touch. I opted out of the fried egg because I just don’t like them. Summer nights are really great overlooking the golf course, so I’m sure we’ll be back soon. I’ll take pics of the food for the next review.

Had brunch there for Mother’s Day. While I felt the service was excellent, I didn’t feel there was a great variety of food. I got a really nice salad and when I took a bite of it, the dressing was sour. I also got an omelete and I felt that it could have been cooked just a few minutes longer. Other than that, it was just good.

The view from the patio Terrace is gorgeous! As a vegetarian, they offer very few Entrees, but veggie burgers are available on request anytime it seems, which is nice. They aren’t outstanding veggie burgers but better than none. My friends have raved about the excellent Fish and Chips, and my husband and I have loved the entrée salads. We also enjoy the tasty sweet potato fries. The wait staff goes out of their way to accommodate individual preferences. Overall this is a lovely place to bring friends when you want a more upscale experience without spending a lot.

I wish I could review the very conscientious manager Ken, because he deserves a 4 star service! He went out of the way to make things right. And really maintained grace under fire. He truly demonstrated kind and smart management decisions. The place is beautiful! If you are lucky to sit on the patio you will indeed enjoy the wide view of the surrounding hills and the golf grounds. I think they had a bad Sunday morning, because as we were waiting the receptionist/waitress had already insulted two guests who were inquiring about seating, and they decided to leave shaking their heads in disbelief. I thought it was awkward, but eh restaurant business is tough. Then, we were seated — I was very happily since it was my birthday weekend and my birthday outing with the family. We told our waiter we wanted breakfast. He brought us lunch menus(it’s still 10:05 a.m. on Sunday– yes 10:00 a.m. like in the morning). So we told him we wanted breakfast, and he flat out said«You can have lunch, or brunch, or go somewhere else for breakfast.» Yes, you heard it right… and he did say it very rudely. I went from 0 to wake-up mode, and looked at him and said«did you just ask us to go elsewhere?» … So disappointing to see people could be so shameless rude. So the waitress serving the table next to us was rude to her clients, and the vibe was just so not right… It seems that they have stopped serving breakfast on Sundays? for a month now… Whose business decision that was, I have no clue! Too bad, I would loved to go back but Sunday breakfasts is a must! I guess maybe they are pushing people to eat at the buffet… My family had been there many times… now they have to look for a new Sunday breakfast spot. Hope the management reconsiders their menu… and the waiters they hire!

Food and service has gone downhill in this establishment! The only thing going for them is the location and view. bring back Luis as manager and Jesse as the chef!

Came here for lunch. The view was worth the trip. That is the best part of the place. Our waitress was christen. She was some what helpful, didn’t seem like she wanted to be at work. She didn’t say hello when we walked in, after our food came we ran out of drinks and she didn’t come back to our table for a refill till after we were done eating. We also ordered a bruschetta for appetizer and it was the tiniest thing ever and cost as much as a meal. It was kind of sad looking. The view was worth it is guess.

Woke up on a Wednesday, just moved to Sunland, and saw some pictures of this place and figured I have to go, the pics looked beautiful and reviews seemed to recommend it. At first, the dropped pin led us to mountains where houses are being built and you’re literally on the OTHER side of the freeway, so management, if you’re reading this, please correct it for future first timers, who don’t know where the LA Golf Course is. Like other reviews, service wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t terrible, just a bit slow, and somewhat unattentive/disorganized. Onto the food, I got the special burger(can’t remember the name, but the one with the egg on it). It was delicious, and so were the seasoned steak fries! Ask for ranch, and you’re ready to go. My girlfriend tried a chicken sandwich(it had avocado, again, can’t remember the exact name). The sandwich itself was okay. It lacked something, we couldn’t figure out what, maybe the cheese didn’t have the best flavor or what, but it just didn’t taste as good as it looked. We eventually added hot sauce and ranch, and it made up for the lack of flavor. The best part of the experience, was the view of the golf course and mountains. We may have gone on a very clear day, but it really was a sight to see. We both enjoyed the environment(mind you, we went at 1pm on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t the most happening/busiest time). We had originally searched Unilocal for a good breakfast spot in the area. Saw some nice pics and read some nice reviews and decided to go only to find out, they serve brunch/breakfast on weekends only, which was a bummer, but hey we didn’t do our part in research. Will try their brunch/breakfast on a weekend, simply because that patio/balcony seating area is awesome!

This is a perfect place to come for birthday breakfast/lunch with family. Lots of parking and got seated immediately. I absolutely loved the view of the golf course from the patio. We had the Chicken Avocado Salad, wasn’t too special it was just a regular basic salad with chicken and avocados. And the Chicken Breast with Mashed Potatoes was very good, I would get this again.

Agave Bar and Grill is located at Angeles National Golf Course which in and of itself is off the beaten path a bit on Foothill Blvd off of the 210 Fwy in Sunland. That being said it does have a bit of an oasis feel once inside the restaurant. It has a large outdoor seating patio that overlooks the course and the the native landscape. I was invited to play golf and grab some lunch by my golf clients. We decided to stay at the course to try the Agave Bar and Grille, it was late morning and breakfast was no longer being served. I have been in a salad mode lately so I chose the Cilantro Chicken Salad which sounded light and refreshing on a warm day. The Cilantro tag comes from the dressing and the salad was very lightly dressed, I would say too lightly in fact. The portion size was good and the chicken was plentiful but lacked any real oomph, if fell a bit flat. The Cilantro Chicken breast is served atop mixed greens with chopped cilantro, sun dried tomatoes, red onion, tortilla strips and house made cilantro lime vinaigrette. I really can’t give Agave much more than 3 stars and I don’t think it’s fair to infer too much from a post round lunch. Service was fine and the other guys got chili, a burger and a salad. No complaints from anyone just no faves or raves either. Their Sunday brunch looks intriguing and should I be in the area at some point on a Sunday then maybe I will give it a go. All in all A-OK.

The patio at this place is amazing. Great view of a few holes and the putting green that would allow for an extended and relaxing meal. Unfortunately, we stopped for a quick breakfast before heading off to the kid’s baseball game. Had enough time to order, eat, and go. I guess it’s in those moments that prompt service is imperative and thus, paid attention to much more critically. Oh, and when you pay the prices they ask, quality handcrafted product. Sat down to be greeted quickly by our server. 2 bloodies and 2 waters. Bloody Mary’s arrive, $ 10 unbeknownst to us as prices are not printed on the menu. I could understand if this was a premium cocktail, but it’s not. It’s a well vodka and some mix. So much spice they could have masked the fact that there was no vodka involved whatsoever. The jury is still out. Waters. Guy was nowhere to be found and we had already asked twice for them. Frustration setting in. He finally came within stank eye vicinity and immediately remembered the waters. Finally. Food came out shortly after. $ 11.95 for my huevos rancheros. If you take a good look at the pic I took, you can break down the materials involved in this gourmet priced breakfast dish. Red onion(6 slices), avocado(couple slices and most expensive thing on plate at 50 cents), shredded cheese(finger full), pico de gallo(splash), 2 eggs and black beans(probably canned) lightly sprinkled inside two corn tortillas. The total was probably 2 bucks to concoct, so the 12 dollar price was a bit laughable. Her burrito was pretty tasty and thus 2 stars instead of 1. Finished our meal, sat there for a while, watched our waiter talk in a group of waiters for about 5 minutes, finally got fed up, walked over to him to hand him my card, got the oh I am sorry I was not paying attention to my tables look, paid, and left. The restaurant has brunch, an attached tasting room for Malibu Winery, and a bar, so I can’t say we won’t return. Just a little bent out of shape for our first visit.

I’m totally a fan and can’t wait to return! Let’s start from the beginning… it was a week before Easter and plans had not yet been made for where my family would brunch. We always brunch for Easter but didn’t have a designated«spot». Last year, Queen Mary(loved it, but long drive, and kinda hectic). Years before, 94th Aero Squadron(decent, VERY hectic, stressful parking). As always I decided to consult Unilocal to see what new location we might try this year and all hail to the internet gods for directing me to Agave… and for having a 10am outdoor reservation available! Fast forward to today — finding the location is simple, parking is an absolute breeze, and within 5 seconds of checking in I was being escorted to our table. Even though the rest of my party hadn’t arrived beverages were quickly poured and I was sitting there with a table full of mimosas, coffees, and waters. I loved the view and could imagine myself sitting out there on that patio sipping a glass of wine and nibbling on some cheese & crackers… but that’ll be next time. Today’s mission, mimosas! The buffet selection was pleasing and everything I tried was yummy. My plates were full of prime rib, waffle, bacon, eggs benedict, short rib, teriyaki mahi mahi, shrimp tempura roll, grilled portobello mushroom, cantaloupe, honeydew, a veggie & mozzarella omelette, and a chocolate macaron. I spoke to the chef at the omelette station and he said that Easter brunch is special(from the regular Sunday brunches) as crab legs and more side dishes are offered. Apparently prime rib, sushi, shrimp, etc. are standard. Good to know. All of the servers were attentive and helpful in making sure that our glasses(all of them!) were always topped off. I wish I’d caught the name of our main server because she was super nice and friendly and fun. We got to chatting about her cute hair bow and I found out she’d been up until the wee hours of the morning making them for all of the staff so they’d look festive without having to wear rabbit ears. Good call, lady! They didn’t rush us, either. Our ressie was at 10am and we didn’t leave until 1pm and even though the noon rush was starting to hit, they never once made us feel like we needed to give up our table. I really appreciated that! Oh, and this affair cost $ 45 per person. Agave, I’ll see you soon! I’ve got a Groupon burning a hole in my «pocket» for the Malibu Family Wines tasting… I’m sure we’ll be needing food with our wine and I look forward to trying your regular menu soon. OH! Speaking of menu, they only do breakfast on the weekends, FYI.

What I Ordered — Black Miso Salmon Great service and delicious food! I didn’t expect much from the restaurant since we went here out of convenience since it was next to Malibu Family Wines. The menu selection was so small, it was really hard to settle on a dish. Go safe with a sandwich or be risky and get the salmon? I was very surprised on how well the salmon came out. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! Never judge a book by it’s cover. or in this case, a restaurant by it’s menu. :)
