We found this hidden gem through Unilocal reviews. The best Mediterranean restaurant we have been to thus far. The food and customer service is amazing and impressive! Plate#39 was delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked! We will be back again!

This place is awesome. One thing you will notice is how friendly they are and how well they treat their customers. The food is good and in Sunland it is hard to get tasty food that is not junky.
There is another skewer place right down the street but honestly that place’s customer services is really bad. Over there they treat you almost like a nuisance when you go in. Because of that I decided to try House of Skewers and have never looked back.

This is a wonderful family owned restaurant. All staff are professional and courteous. The food is fresh and the offer many healthy items. I had the chicken and it was delicious.

I’ve had my share of xorovats and this place is bomb. Definitely get your money’s worth for a reasonable price. I Unilocaled food places around Pacoima/​Lake View Terrace/​Tujunga and found this 5-​star place and decided to try it. I placed my order over the phone, 2 Chicken Breast Kabob Plates, which came out to $ 19ish. After 15 minutes, I drove over and my food was just coming out.
Super friendly staff — looks family owned.
Food tasted like it was cooked homemade with love.
Had to force myself to stop eating because I was super full but it tasted sooo good.

Fabulous authentic Armenian food. We are traveling to Arizona and did a Unilocal to find a place lunch and what a place we found. The chicken kebab plate with a side of roasted eggplant spread was wonderful. Anytime we are in the area this will be our go to place for food.

This was my first visit. I had the chicken thigh kabob, humus made from scratch, and yogurt cucumber salad. Everything was delicious, fresh, and under $ 10. The service was great and very friendly. I will be back with the family soon.

I stopped in intending to have some meat on sticks since it’s one of the best things on earth, but the interior was not quite like I’d imagined, and the menu was far more diverse, so I went in a different direction.
Inside, it’s a modest, very clean, little Italian/​Mediterranean deli. The lady at the counter was incredibly sweet throughout my entire stay. I ordered a large chicken parm sandwich and took a seat at one of the inside tables. I don’t often find Italian food that stands up to what I’m accustom to when I’m here in SoCal, but since they had «Italian» prominently featured on the menu and in restaurant description I forged ahead.
I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised by what I was served. The large sandwich is on what I’d describe as a small loaf of bread, or incredibly large roll. It was baked in the oven after the sandwich was put together and had a nice crisp golden brown crust with a super soft middle that held together superbly throughout the entire sandwich. The chicken was sliced thin and breaded with Italian breadcrumbs before being fried. The sauce had a deep, rich, full flavor, like it was slaved over by an Italian grandmother all day. The cheese was done perfectly as to compliment, rather than overwhelm the sandwich like so man other «parm sandwiches» I’ve had over the years.
I can’t say enough good things about what I was served. That sandwich tasted like it was prepared by someone who loves to cook, knows what they’re doing, and puts their heart into what they serve. I grew up on this kind of thing with two Italian grandmothers, and Italian mother and her sisters making these types of dishes every day — so you can believe me when I say, it’s the real deal.

The food has such a freshness and purity that make you feel so healthy eating it. The cashier made us feel so welcome because it was our first time. The prices are so reasonable for what you get. My partner and I shared a platter and selected 2 sides and we could barely finish the meal, but we did. We will come back again because I get cravings for Mediterranean food.

We found this place on Unilocal and tried it based on the ratings. The food was really good and the cashier was very friendly. The sandwiches are made with a ciabbata style bread. The regular sandwich is large and the large is huge. I had the shish Kabob, which was cooked to order (medium rare) and very good. The portion was good, but I would have liked a little more rice.

Come hungry! This place is delicious. We found this little gem around the corner from our house and are already excited to return. We got the luleh kabob and the combo plate. The pita that came with our plates was hot and fresh. The humus was delicious. All the meats were fresh and cooked perfectly. That chicken was awesome! My husband couldn’t stop raving about the garlic sauce and the shirazi salad.
We can’t wait to come back and try some of the pasta dishes!

I love visiting little mom and pop restaurants and I’m glad I found this place. I ordered a lule kabob combo thinking I was going to get a small meal with a tiny side. I’m glad I was wrong. The portions are pretty big and the price is very reasonable. This place is definitely worth the drive.

It’s small, cozy and simple. Nothing fancy. Wholesome home cooked meal style. High quality food served fast and with a smile :)
We got the popular combo plate. More than enough for two people! The chicken was seasoned with love and the beef was cooked perfectly.

I have to admit I have never had anything on a skewer here. No one has ever tried to skewer me here. I have eaten here with my wife and exchanged a few playful barbs but that is as close to a skewer as I have come here.
What I have had many times is a sandwhich. And they make a killer sandwich. I have also had the hummus — very good and authentic.
A recommended spot for sure.

Small place located in a small strip mall. Looks like a husband and wife combo behind the counter, and they are some of the friendliest people you’ll find in the business. They offer a variety of cold cut sandwiches and also mediterranean food such as shwarma. I was feeling a sandwich so I went with a proscuitto sandwich with fresh mozarella, peppers, lettuce, and mayo. This sandwich was amazing!!! Everything was fresh! The bread was so soft and freshly baked tasting. Definitely one of the best cold cut sandwiches Ive had in California so far.
I hope this place stays open for a long time. I love finding these golden nuggets where the food is great and the service is even greater.

One of my co-​workers was heading back to our office in Sylmar and we wanted her to pick up some lunch for us on her way in. So, I took to Unilocal to find something delicious and easy to pick up. I looked at several places but most were the opposite direction they had some good options too but then I came across House of Skewers. We have someone on a strict diet and some other picky eaters who prefer to eat sandwiches or even pizza. What could be better than finding a place that has 2 different types of food and a 5 star Unilocal rating.
I am usually cautious about getting food from places that have 2 different types of food but this was a delightful surprise. Everything was delicious. We had a little mix up with our order and we received 1 too many orders (that we did not order) and had even paid for it. I called the restaurant to let them know and the lovely lady on the phone refunded the money back to my co-​worker. She asked me if my food was good but I hadn’t had a chance to try it yet so I couldn’t give her an answer. Their phone was a bit weird because I think if they are on another line it goes straight to their voicemail (so don’t give up calling or think they are closed). I ordered the thigh meat chicken kebab. I am normally not a chicken fan but holy chicken this was the BEST chicken I have ever had. I should have called her back to let her know.
If I do get chicken, I always get dark meat because I feel its not as dry as the white meat. This chicken was very moist and so flavorful. It was a party in my mouth and I couldn’t get enough of it. The extra meal that was sent was white meat chicken. I decided to give it a try… and wowwwwwwwwwwww! It was soooo good, like amazing good, maybe even better than the thigh meat. This is saying a lot coming from a non chicken fan.
I am so glad we found this place, I am dreaming about it right now!

Wowzers! The best thing about them? They’re super nice and just that positive vibe the moment I walked in and had this little conversation with the owner’s son. First time, but previously browsed through the 5-​star Unilocal reviews, I expected a whole lot and I wasn’t disappointed. i have been a resident in the area for over a decade now and I actually questioned myself why did I not even try this one out before?
The lady on the phone who took my order had a very good phone etiquette. She took time to explain to me #39 Kabob combo which was my boyfriend’s choice. I had the shawarma plate. Amazing food and that super tasty hummus. Salad was green and very fresh! The boyfriend absolutely enjoyed his kabobs!
I have found out that the chef was their dad. I haven’t met him because he was busy cooking but I have met the mom who was really friendly too. When I went to pick up my orders, there was a police officer there who was enjoying his shawarma plate and he told me how he loves the place so much and that I should love it too. Now I would! Thank you.

I have to share this. We found this place just recently and have ordered about 3times already. The food is great! But most importantly is the service. The people here make me feel very comfortable and happy to
eat here. But what happen tonight was truly amazing. We ordered dinner and they arrived late. I did not complain because the food and their attitude is always great. The driver came to the door and before I could say anything, he said with a big smile on his face and pleasant attitude, «the total amount if $ 27.50, but since we were late it will only be $ 20.00.» I was shocked! This is a place that knows how to treat customers. If I have ever recommended a restaurant, this is the place you need to visit. Thanks again to the owners of this establishment.

I just moved up to Sunland, and found this spot a lil hole in the wall place ! Very nice up to par ! And a very nice smell to the place .
It’s very important that A Mediterranean place has proper refrigeration to keep a very nice smell very pleasant inviting area to walk into. Very clean needs to say I’m very impressed with this place
