City of Sunny Isles Beach

The beach a Marenas resort is clean, private and very quiet. This is a huge difference from say, South Beach. Again, if you’re looking for peace and quiet then this is the beach for you. If you’re searching for an exciting resort with activities running late into the night… keep looking.

During my south Florida visit I decided I wanted to see some beaches, different beaches, as many beaches as I could see. My first stop: Sunny Isles.
I did drive to this beach and parking was tricky. I am not sure if it is a Floridian secret, or just a tourist hating beach, but either way, we finally found a spot.
I had to walk across the street toward Trump International where there was a little walkway to the beach. Now, living in California, I have become increasingly dependent upon the whole «pedestrian friendly» street-​crossing attitude. Well, this does not exist in Florida. I think that the motorists might even speed up to actually frighten pedestrians, hoping to teach us not to walk on their streets. After about 5 minutes, which is actually a long time to stand on the side of speedy traffic just to get across two lanes, I made it!
I walked down a long and sandy alley way to the beach. Once I emerged on the other side, there it was – a beautiful beach waiting for me to relax in the sunshine and swim in the ocean. I stripped down to my bikini and ran into the water. It was chilly at first, but so beautiful I really did not mind.
I swam, walked down the beach and basked in the sun for hours. It was really beautiful.

I LOVE this beach!!!
I came here at night, which I’m sure I probably wasn’t supposed to.
Nice warm water, plenty of surrounding parking, sun may be no existent during the day due to the buildings. not sure, because I was there at night.

Stayed at the Marco Polo ramada. Not much to do in the area. Nice if your staying at your hotel. You need a car for sure to get around

My go-​to beach in Miami. This beach is lined with hotels and high rise apartments so everyone is respectful, clean, and private. I bring all my guests here and they’re overcome by the beauty of Sunny Isles Beach. I feel safe going in the water while keeping my wallet on the beach.
Sunny Isles has many beautiful apartments and tons of restaurants along the strip. You’ll find anything for pre or post beach activities from Crepes to Gelato, homemade guacamole, or beer! With plenty of FREE parking close to the beach, and convenience stores in case you need more sunblock, you will not regret coming here. Highly suggested.

This review is for the beach.
I’ve been coming to this beach for decades and I’ve seen it change a lot. There used to be a pink hotel which is now long gone and it was replaced with a very tall condo type building. Along this stretch of A1A are many tall towers which are mostly condos/​hotel type high rises.
This pier has been rebuilt and it used to have a small snack bar but now it’s different. What has not changed is the measly quantity of parking that they have at the end of 163^rd where it meets at Collins.
The parking in this area is a joke. There are maybe 20 spots at this public parking meter parking. The mall across the street near the corner of 163 and Collins has expanded but it’s packed there. You really shouldn’t park long term here as my cousin has received tickets there. This area just doesn’t have parking which makes this beach pretty inaccessible.
It used to be better years ago but not so much these days. You’re better off driving south on A1A to Haulover which is plenty of parking and it’s essentially the same beach just a mile down or two.
As for the City of Sunny Isles, unless you don’t care about public beaches just get rid of them all because everything else is just condos etc. 20 parking spots does not a city serve…

Pros:
— No crowds — very quiet
— Clear waters
Cons:
— Compared to another beach along the same shore, the sand here isn’t the cleanest
— Larger waves
— Condominiums block the sun

Very nice beaches. Only problem is that the large condos building blocks the sun at around 3-​ish so its hard to spend the whole day there because it gets cold in the shade, other than that great hot fun beach!

Great spot to hang out and people watch. Beach can be a bit crowed in certain areas but if you find a good quality spot, it can be perfect. We actually found a great spot and enjoyed ourselves.

Sunny Isles is a much quieter atmosphere than south beach and I go there because of that. The people are nice and most of them live near the beach. There is a large Russian crowd in sunny isles. I would recommend the Porter House which is open until 5am.

Lot’s of old people but I don’t mind. I like to go with my family or to spend an afternoon reading and exercising.

Amazing place! Sunny Isles Beach keeps you wrapped in high-​end luxury and exclusivity, while making sure you have access to everything this city island has to offer.

When I look out my window I am really appreciative of where I live. The beach is beautiful and clean. Not very packed unless it’s Memorial Day New Years or maybe even a long weekend. I love when the water is shallow and you can see all the sand bars. It is truly a blessing to live in sunny isles

I like when the waves here are calm and nice the water is clean and free of seaweed and there’s sandbars sometimes. Really big and open which does not make it crowded. There is more people by the pier then the other spots but overall nice clean beach with lots of room

Crystal blue waters and no crowds.
Typically, people would opt for South Beach because it screams MIAMI. I will say though, that I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out at Sunny Isles because it was always quiet, relaxing, within walking distance to many establishments and just beautiful overall.
Sand is slightly grittier but no big deal.

This beach is never over crowded and the sand is clean.

The place is overcrowded and I never seen so many hoochies pushing baby carriages. It was gross. They say the mafia is up here but, there is a a very shady vibe here. whetever… Dont forget the scum bad israeli’s

When I say «beach» you think «South Beach».
This is only accurate when I’m talking about the beach after dark. It’s a rare occurence to find me on SoBe during daylight hours.
If I want to go to the beach, (as in, going out on the sand for fun & sun) I think of anywhere BUT SoBE.
I head North. Las Olas or Sunny Isles Beach is my destination of choice for fun in the sun. I prefer the vibe on Ft. Lauderdale beaches. It feels like a mini-​vacation to just get the eff out of Miami for a while.
The only downfall that I find at Sunny Isles Beach is that there is a lack of cool beachside lounges/​bars nearby to enjoy a drink after a draining day in the sun. But it’s all good. When I’m in the mood for that kind of beach day, I head to Las Olas.
For a relaxing day of sunbathing, Sunny Isles Beach is the spot!
