This place looked interesting but we couldn’t find it. I think they went out of business or moved.

Egads. Another one bites the dust, I fear. I don’t know what’s going on. It seems places are closing faster than I can keep up with. The real shame is that some good places aren’t making it. Preservation was one of those places. It might have been the novelty being in Sunny Isles(there’s not too too much going on up here wrt new restaurants) but I think my interest had more to do with the cool build out, TV wall, smoked Cobb salad, lamb mezzaluna, peanut butter & chocolate cake, and banana ice cream. Doesn’t all that sound incredible? It does. You should have checked it out, Miami.

We had a GREAT dinner here! Not going to lie, we were a tad skeptical to roll up to this totally empty restaurant but we were very pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. For apps, we ordered a Caesar salad(needed pepper) and the truffle fries-awesome. We had the BBQ shrimp(amazing!) and the chicken pesto sandwich. The Riesling we drank(Kung Foo Girl) was also great. All in all, the bill came to right around $ 80 which seemed more than reasonable. This place seems totally underrated and under attended considering that it’s great. I recommend everyone try this place!

Wow. I absolutely adore this place. It reminds me of hidden LA restaurants. Super mellow, quaint and an interesting menu that you really have to thoroughly read to appreciate. Like… Pumpkin seeded crusted shrimp? Mmm. What? Crazy! Didn’t order it, but I was tempted. I got the truffle fries and hickory smoked salmon on rye. Quality food and overall good service. I’ll be back! I want to check out their brunch!

As a local resident, I was excited to try another place when my parents came to visit. We decided to order take-out. We had four burgers, a tomato soup and 4 salads. It was $ 73!!! The soup was so small we thought it was salad dressing. They put the wrong items on every burger, and although they said my food wood be ready in 20 minutes, it took literally 35… My burger was excellent, so I will give them that, but it had bacon on it, as did my Dad’s and my Brother’s… We don’t eat bacon. I asked for lettuce and tomato… Won;t be going back, had to give this review, too many good restaurants in Sunny Isles to waste your time here… Also, it was entirely empty at 8:30 pm, not one single customer, which should have been a sign. If they pay more attention and lower their prices slightly or increase size portions, they may do ok, as of now I bet they are doomed. Sorry guys, one good burger doesn’t cut it…

Had Sunday brunch and was blown away by both the creativity and taste of the food. We had the French toast, Italian sandwich, wings and fries. The flavors were unique, deep and delicious. Anybody that considers themselves to be foodies ought to give this place a shot.

My family lives in Sunny Isles Beach and typically need to drive to Miami Beach or North Miami for lunch/dinner so seeing this place open and ready for business was a nice surprise. The restaurant is a refreshing small business to open up on the chain-filled Collins Avenue, but they need to do better if they want to retain local residents, not snowbirds. However, the service and food were subpar. The décor is really nice and although we sat outside we definitely appreciated the small touches and its atmosphere. Our hostess/server was nice, but she did not properly recommend or describe the dishes.(keep reading for details) A nice plus for our experience were complimentary beer-battered pickles, the batter was light and the pickles were the perfect crunch. My short-rib tacos and sister’s brisket cheese sandwich was tasty. Unfortunately, 50% of our meal was a disappointment. The four of us ordered food at roughly the same time but mine and my dad’s dish came out 15 minutes before my mom and sister’s. Aside from the poor timing of the dishes my dad’s «pastrami» sandwich looked more like corned beef and my mom’s burger was cooked well-done, when she asked for medium rare. When my parents approached the waitress about their multiple dissatisfactions, she had an attitude and barely tried to accommodate us when we were clearly not happy. This was a disappointment for my parents as they are big supporters of local businesses but they won’t be coming back for a second try.

Preservation is awesome! We approached them last minute to have a small wedding reception for about 10 people. They accommodated us perfectly by creating a great and reasonably priced pre-fixe menu for the dinner. Everything turned out wonderful thanks to them. We were so happy with the food, and so were ALL of our guests, and in the future we would love to celebrate every anniversary at Preservation. As soon as we sat down we were presented with some house made jams, cured meats, and cheeses. My favorite was the duck confit with strawberry habanero jam. Then came the salad with fresh greens and a delicious dressing. Our entrees, a choice of red-snapper filet or hangar steak, were delicious as well with beautiful presentation. Nobody left anything on their plate. Finally, the dessert fruit tart with citrus cream was a show stopper and we wished we had ordered double of it. We ended up being blown away by our experience.

We made reservations for Sunday brunch, but it was so slow that they weren’t needed. I tried calling to modify the reservation twice, but no one answered the phone. We waited about 15 minutes for the free churros, which were good, but then another 15 minutes for our appetizer. The entrees took an additional 30 minutes to come out and when they did, the person who delivered the food didn’t even know what he was bringing us. Also, it came out in bits and pieces(over 5 minute increments), so the 6 of us couldn’t even eat together as we didn’t know how long the rest would take. The Bellini was chunky and bland. The eggs benedict was unremarkable with a thin, overcooked English muffin. The pancakes were okay, but the blueberry butter was very sugary. The pulled pork hash-ish was actually good, surprisingly. Service was all but nonexistent and the 3 employees there had no clue that our meal took forever. The restaurant even tags 18% gratuity to all parties of 6 or more, so this might be why we never got good service. One in our party spoke to the manager and they took some stuff off of the check, but overall, this place was a waste of time and money. They offered us a bottle of wine for our next visit, but we definitely will not be redeeming it. You can go to IHOP for a much better breakfast/brunch and better service.

First of all, this is my first time writing a review, but I feel as if I have to for Preservation. The restaurant is spacious but intimate, nice modern rustic décor on the inside with a minimalistic vibe that stays true to its restaurant name and theme. Their concept is brilliant and this place probably belongs in Wynwood only because most people in Sunny Isles are too stubborn to ever appreciate this. We had dinner here for a friend’s wedding reception. They sent us out first a charcuterie plate with their fresh jams, homemade pickles, and crostinis. The garlic pickles are the best, hands down! The pickled beets worked perfectly for the arugula salad. Second course was a choice between snapper or flanger steak. I was able to try both and they were both incredible. Steak was so tender, the snapper was juicy. Once again, the pickled slaw that came with the fish was a highlight. Perfect service to from everyone. Thank you all! I will be back for sure.

Ok… sit down… we need to have a chat about their desserts… because their desserts warrant a conversation all on their own… first off… their carrot cake… de-freakin-licious!!! It’s just so… perfect! And their Crème brûlée is probably what the person who invented crème brûlée meant it to taste like when they thought of the idea… hands down the BEST that I’ve ever had… and that not even to mention some of the other desserts that I’ve had here before! Such as their pumpkin whoopi pies!!! HA! Freaking awesome! I just love everything about this place… it’s amazing!

Excellent food but super-slow kitchen, we waited almost 45min to get our entrees. The waitress was really kind and always made sure we were happy. I hope they will fix this so I could give them 5 stars!

Found Preservation on a recent business trip to Hollywood, convince some colleagues to go with. The strip mall location and empty dining room did cause some raised eyebrows in my group. The food made up for both of those hesitations. An amuse bouche of fried pickles arrived while we perused the menu. We all started with charcuterie(house made) and smoked corn arancini, both of which received a warm reception from the group. Dinner included mushroom risotto(loved), hamburger(great but the bun was a little greasy on the bottom), a brisket philly cheesesteak(greasy bun) and the pork belly entrée(loved). I received a thumbs up for choosing the location. We enjoyed the music selection and the décor. The giant TV should be repurposed for more appropriate viewing(although we saw Denver win – it was a Sunday dinner) like black & white movies or old cooking show footage would fit better with the experience.

4 of us thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Great, attentive service. Fantastic food concept using smoking, curing, pickling on home-made food & condiments. Surprised place empty around 7 on Wednesday. Couple other tables came in later. Go now! Bring, drag, pull, push friends, family, neighbors & anyone else you can think of.

We sat at the bar and there was this very kind gentleman serving us. The chef gave us fried pickles(his mom’s recipe) which taste amazingly good! The atmosphere and food were incredible. We are definitely coming back when we come to Florida. Five stars all the way.

This place needs all the« Unilocal» it can get! Because of the Florida stripmall curse we didnt notice it before(hidden in the back, near a CVS and a Burger King). Thankfully, we were lucky enough to discover this hipster-styled restaurant that is almost too cool for Sunny Isles beach. We first tried lunch and had to come back for dinner in the same week. Just to name a few items you have to try-Smoked tomato soup, brisket chili, short rib tacos, pastrami sandwich and the burger… oooooohh the burger! We had a chance to meet the man behind our meat, Chef Ryan. Super friendly guy! Ladies, I suggest you not only go in for the great food, but for«the view», Ryan is pretty hot! Overall, We were super pleased with the service and the prices. It’s hard to find quality food for a reasonable price. We love this place so we are crossing our fingers they stick around!

Oh Preservation how I wanted to like you! Bought some great pickled items when you opened a few weeks ago. Came with my son and heavy expectations, what a bummer. Started with the smoked BBQ wings, nice light smoke but dry with overly sweet BBQ sauce. Blue cheese dressing was runny and contained no blue cheese? My son described his Brisket Cheesesteak as «a bread sandwich» and my Pastrami Sandwich was on grilled sandwich size rye bread with ice cold pastrami, side salads were wilted due to way to much dressing. We tried to leave with a good taste in our mouths as the waiter recommended the Carrot Cake, after 20 minutes and no dessert I asked for the check, waiter came back with the dessert removed from the check and a apology saying the kitchen was backed up? There was 4 tables in the restaurant, never again.

Wow. Strolling along the normally culinarily-barren strip malls of Sunny Isles, what do I find but a gem of a new restaurant? Keep in mind reading the following that I had a BURGER and a beer. Nothing fancy, on face. The staff were attentive and helpful. It probably helped that there weren’t many people there but it was some of the best service I have had in a while. The place was decorated in a modern/rustic fashion to go with the ‘Preservation’ theme. They make EVERYTHING on site. Meat? Smoked on site. Buns? Baked on site. Ketchup? Made on site.(Do they weave their own napkins too? I didn’t ask). Pickles? Oh the pickles. Made by the chef, and the chef’s mother before that apparently in NJ. They are delicious, and they sell them in jars toward the front of the store along with other pickled things and jams, butters etc. They served me an amuse bouche of deep fried pickles with a whole grain mustard based sauce for dipping. It was excellent. The bun was like one of those dense ever so slightly sweet breads, like a challah but I swear it made the burger. Bacon(didn’t ask but… probably smoked right there), in-house picked onions. Leaf lettuce, tomato. Some sort of sharp cheddar. Somehow they smoke the beef before they make the burger. Don’t ask me how. It was quality. And too big to fit in your mouth. I didn’t mention the side salad, which was also great. So I can’t just go ahead and give them five stars even though it was near perfection as far as the meal goes. They just opened up and were just a little disorganized. No one at the front of the house when I got there so I had to go in and get a menu myself. That was until they realized I was there, after which everything was great. The menu appears to be evolving as they had flatbreads on one menu which they touted, then they were not on a different menu they brought out. I chalk this up to it being a new place and these sorts of things will work themselves out. It honestly didn’t really bother me as the food was fantastic. I will be stopping in to try other things — pork belly, scottish salmon, hanger steak. All looked quite good. Maybe slightly higher on the price point as my burger/beer came to $ 21-ish before tip. You can get out of here at $$, but it also might be $$$ depending on what you order. But we certainly need a place like this in Sunny Isles! It is a welcome addition for sure. Other notables: –They have a decently sized bar –They listed some sort of weekend brunch that they offer –Also they seem to have an early bird special per the sign out front –There is a HUGE television inside. It was playing the food channel at the time –Seems to be family owned
