Possibly the most disgusting experience of my life. The place smelt like piss, not to mention it was dark, cramped and full of old stuff. The music outside was obnoxiously loud. This place needs to be shut down then condemned.

Why hasn’t the SPCA or some other organization closed this place? It’s disgusting. It reeks of urine and the puppies are kept in tiny cases the size of a rabbit cage. Bird cages are set outside even when it is cold and damp, despite the animals being beyond sensitive to cold. It’s either this hell hole or a store right next door that BLASTS music when they are open.
I try not to judge, but with the exception of wanting to get these animals out of the $.%x hole they are in, I can’t imagine why anyone would give this place either business or attention. Please try to completely ignore this place. It is a disgrace and as far as I’m concerned, an abusive establishment towards animals.

Despicable, deplorable, disgusting… there aren’t enough words to describe the awful conditions thst these poor animals suffer daily!!! Please shop elsewhere!

This place is completely DISGUSTING. I walked in and walked right out because if the completely revolting, incredibly strong odor. I honestly thought I was going to vomit, and this is coming from a person who is used the stench of the NYC subway. Most pet stores do have a bit of a smell, but this was insane. I have no idea how anyone can stand working there. I feel so badly for the animals there.

Honestly I have a great time there, the people are friendly and they give me the best advice for which supplies to use for specific uses. The only problem I have is that the puppy’s don’t look like they are happy in that place, although I did buy my bunny there but for some odd reason she is aggressive

How is this place still open? I feel bad for the animals they sell and the people who buy them. most negative reviews are on point. They have low standards and its apparent they don’t need them in this area of the neighborhood. Really have no idea how they’re still open…

This is one of the worst pet stores around I grew up with this pet store and when I was 5 I got a free fish from them for Halloween and it did live a year for a feeder fish which was good but it was for my care that it did. I bought a fish from here and it cost me $ 10 bucks for a gold fish and coming home as soon as I put in the tank it died in 10 mins the fish had upside down bladder disease and they sold it to me like that since they look like they tried medication on the fish this was god awful the puppies in this store are cheap and I’m thinking reasons are is because they come from puppy mills and the owner of the store doesn’t allow children to watch the windows where the puppies are which is rude what if a child wants a puppy and tells there parents man your losing business on that part also this store is very small to have fish cats hamsters birds lizards all this stuff in one place and other messed up part is they are over charging for a puppy when it’s clear it must have come from a puppy mill these dogs are not well taken care of and are most likely not akc registered don’t buy fist here at all they all die very fast and the owner is a very mean rude person just looking for a sale

If hell existed on earth this was it… I can’t even imagine .the poor animals that are in there I wish I could rescue them all it’s terrible terrible terrible that this place is still in business. The owner should be locked up for animal cruelty for these animals are not treated fairly and should be re-​homed. I wish I wish I wish I had the capacity to help these animals. but I can’t even begin to tell you how angry places like this make me. DONT SHOP ADOPT

If I could give negative stars I would. I just wanted a can of dog food and the cans were rusted like they were on shelf for years and all the shelves and cans were COVERED IN MOUSE POOP! There are cats loose in the store so apparently the problem is very bad. I’m no diva but there’s no way I would buy anything in this store. Completely disgusting. The whole block probably has to suffer with infestations because of this store. The smell is unbearable. I feel so bad for the animals in this dark, dank, filthy, cramped nightmare of a store,

Junior is very helpful, he gave good feedback when I asked many nutrition questions when changing my dogs food to something healthier! They may be small and crowded but they do a decent job helping provide pet supplies to the neighborhood. I just went in there and noticed new kennels. A for effort! No one is perfect, they do what they can with what they got.

My husband recently bought a red male tabby from this business. As we became aware in the proceeding days after he bought the cat, he had fleas. Stay away from this business.

This place does not even deserve 1 star! I really have no clue how this establishment is still in business. The dogs are kept in the back of the store in cages stacked up on top of each other. They are covered in their own feces and urine. The smell is beyond horrible. My wife had to cover her nose and walk out.
With the ASPCA Police and other organizations, it really amazes me at how/​why this place is still open.

When you’re standing outside gawking at adorable puppies playing, you’re in animal cuteness heaven.
Inside is another story. As soon as you walk into the store, a thick heavy stench of animal urine hits you straight in your face and stays in your nose even after you leave.
As you walk down this tiny, cramped store and into the back where the other puppies are, your heart breaks. Still inhaling the god-​awful stench of animal urine, you’ll see puppies suffering from extreme anxiety and hear their cries. I’m not sure if these puppies ever get to leave for walks.
The smell alone of this place is a sure sign that it’s an unclean, unethical environment for any living creature. The stench is so bad that they’d have to tear down/​gut the whole store and build a new one.
Don’t support this unethical business. This is no way to treat an animal.

This store is a horror. If it smells that bad, I can’t imagine what filth the animals are living in. The owner is an asshole and this store should be shut down immediately!

I also can’t imagine buying a pet here — but they do have a lot of pet supplies and it’s two blocks from my apt so…
My dog mostly refuses to go into the store because there is at least one cat who has the run of the place. So they have let me stand outside and just brought the stuff I was looking for to me. So they were helpful in that way. I also asked the owner a question about flying with dogs and he was pretty helpful in recommending Delta because of their separate air conditioned cargo for pets.
But unfortunately all the other criticisms of other reviews are pretty accurate.

I went here to check out a Pomeranian which was advertised for sale on their website, a website that looks very professional and legit I might add. The store is extremely small; it looks like an optimo or other habib store that has been converted into a pet store. The pets are in the back, stacked together in cages on top of each other all the way from the floor to the ceiling. Cats are first, then dogs more towards the rear. There are about 20 or so puppies and some of them are stacked so high you can just about reach up to pet them or tap them on the nose just to let them know that they are being seen and acknowledged. The store is absolutely deplorable. It if filthy and infested: I saw a coach roach or water bug crawl underneath one of the dog’s cages, and you know if you see one there are a 1000 more where that came from. I felt terrible for the poor dogs there, they looked so frickin sad and pathetic, and they were also really filthy. The Pom I came to see was very cute, but I really couldn’t justify buying this dog and supporting this place. I hate stores like this because they put you in the uncompromising position of finding yourself caught in the moral dilemma of wanting to rescue a dog by getting it the hell out of there but at the same time not wanting to do so because you’d be supporting these wretched people by giving them money and providing them incentive to continue their atrocious activities and their monstrous cycle of animal torture. I started literally feeling itchy inside of this filthy destitute place and became so overwhelmed by anger and depression that I was forced to leave.

Well. Reviewing this place is difficult for me. I have two cats, and I buy very specific things for them every week, i.e. a certain kind of food, litter, treats, even bags for their litter box. Because this place sells pets, and I do not support pet shops, I have avoided buying anything from them. BUT – after getting sick and tired of going out of my way, to three different stores, to buy all the different cat products I need, I stopped in here one day. This is the only pet supply store I walk by on a regular basis. They have everything! They sell wellness, all sorts of kitten foods and treats, and the perfect litter bags. I no longer have any reason to go out of my way to go to 3 stores looking for cat stuff. And if they are busy, I play with the kitties while i wait. Staff is not so friendly, with the exception of the Latino guy mentioned in other reviews. He is almost always there, though. He’s really nice and helpful.
SO, as much as I hate to admit it because I hate that they sell pets, I shop here every week and it’s terribly convenient.

Agree with Maria M. The place is just horrible. Soooo tiny, barely any room to move around. The Latino guy helped me, and he basically looked over my shoulder like he was too freakin’ busy to help me. I asked him tons of questions and the whole time he cut me off. I said, «so are these breeds known for being…» and he’d jump in and say «no» without even hearing my question. Honestly, I bet they get their dogs from some horrible breeders, they could give two shits about pets. I will never, ever go here again so long as they treat customers like crap.

Just gross. It stinks so much, I can’t even go in to buy anything anymore. The have puppies and kittens in the back, and I feel so bad for them. the owner is this piggish-​looking guy who probably hates animals but needs to make buck. Another guy who works there resembles a long-​time drug addict. The latino is nice, and he looks like he cares at least a little. There is dust all over the inventory and God only knows what else. Besides, you can go to the Associated or Food Town nearby and get those big boxes of litter for cheaper.
