Since Globe Coffee Shop in Woodside closed down, I’m on my journey to look for a cheap diner that serves good Corned Beef Hash, and I’m glad I found this place. Corned Beef Hash well done with two eggs for $ 5, plus $ 1.25 coffee with one free refill. You can’t really beat that! Service was a little unorganized since I had to ask for everything from utensil to ketchup then water.

This place has got quite the good breakfast serving! Amazing staff to deliver you a peaceful and comedic morning munch! Their coffee is perfect and gives you a nice shake to wake you up! I suggest any of their eggs combo! You can order it however you like it comes in a huge plate, price to ratio is excellent and is very local and has been serving the sunnyside area for quite a while now! It’s definitely a place I’d come to for breakfast! I normally don’t buy breakfast though!

I’ve been ordering from this place for quite some time now and have loved their food and quick service. However, today was the worst service I experienced. I placed an order on grubhub for a «Turkey Bacon Cheeseburger» for a friend who cannot eat real bacon. When we got the food delivered she was skeptical about wether or not it was actually turkey bacon in the burger. But I was sure I ordered a TURKEYBACON cheeseburger because that’s what it said on grubhub. So when I took a look at the bacon and tasted it for myself, it was real bacon. We then called the place to ask if they used real bacon or turkey bacon in their«Turkey Bacon Cheeseburger» & the girl on the phone said«it’s a turkey burger and we use real bacon». So then I explained to her that they should really clarify that online because my friend cannot eat real bacon and now we have a burger that is real bacon. The girl on the phone clearly had no experience with customer service as she remained silent on the phone when we explained our dilemma. Now, I didn’t call expecting a refund or anything but the least I expected was an apology or ask if I wanted a regular burger. But she remained silent and I had to repeat to clarify their burger online before she said«okay» and hung up. I work with customers all day and I know to never let a customer leave feeling dissatisfied. The reason this is such a problem is because I have a friend who cannot eat bacon because of religious reasons. Had the girl on the phone seemed to be more concerned this wouldn’t have been such an issue. But I just ordered food for my friend that she could not even eat.

I don’t know what to say, it’s not really pizza and it’s not a good deal but it’s location is right next to my laundromat. I pray for better pizza in sunnyside. One day someone will deliver it until then I will eat the strangely sized sliced here from time to time.

i accidentally discovered skillman’s one morning when i was really craving pizza and there weren’t any other open pizza places on seamless other than skillman’s. for some reason, they have three stars on there so i was a little hesitant about ordering from them, but… the things you do for pizza. to date, skillman’s makes the best pizza i have ever had. ever(it’s so good that i only order the cheese). the cheese is sharp, the crust is crispy but not too thin, doughy but not too thick, and you get a really good deal for their large(i think with tax, it comes out to ~$ 13). at other places, the same size probably costs ~$ 20 or so. my boyfriend loves skillman’s because they have his favorite pizza topping: meatballs, so there’s that. i’m so sad that i can no longer order from skillman’s on a weekly basis because i don’t live in the area anymore, but whenever i visit my boyfriend i make it my #1 priority to get one of their cheese pies. can’t wait to go back!

My go to diner and place for quick take out. The ladies who work there are nice and service is quick. Def try Antonio’s omelet: Corn beef hash + American cheese = brilliant!

Chicken cutlet deluxe was very nearly raw. Just warmed up enough to not still be frozen. I went in, sat down and soon developed a headache. The music playing in the kitchen was too much. Felt like I was at a dance club in Mexico City. Iced tea wasn’t bad but wouldn’t recommend it unless they turned their boom box down.

What else is there to say? I order a plain pizza pie and a few coffees. Come here for a no frills, no bullshit experience. It’s just good. The price is right too, definitely influences the decision to keep coming back. «You can’t eat atmosphere»

Good, inexpensive food that is served quickly. This coffee shop is very bsic. They serve typical diner food and pizza. The couple of times I’ve been here, I’ve ordered breakfast food, which was decent. The staff is nice.

I’ve been a fan of Skillman Pizza for the nearly 8 years that I’ve lived in Sunnyside. People can rave about John’s, Lombardi’s or any number of East Village pizza joints but Skillman’s has them all beat in my view. The key to their superiority is the crust they’re able to generate… it’s not just«crust,» it’s more like a brioche. To die for! But you have to have a whole pie, fresh and hot… not reheated or in a slice. And then, in reading some of the other reviews, I was happy to see that some of their other menu items are highly appreciated as well. So, it’s a win, win, win joint with zero ambiance…

My go to for a variety of menu items. Pizza slice well done, fried chicken wings, scrambled eggs, bacon, homfries and toast. Oh, and when I am on the healthy eating rout, Johnny makes a delicious grilled chicken and steamed broccoli, with a side salad, to die for! Always friendly, efficient service and the price is right! Oh, and Kudos to the new ownership for improvements like Diet Coke, Ice and credit/debit cards!

Sub-par pizza, $ 2 a slice was a bit much. Sort of tasted like pizza you’d get at an arcade or ball park. I could get better offerings at a 99 cent joint.

I used to eat here at least 3 times a week. Great people work here, food is cheap. Quality isn’t. I came for mostly breakfast and gyros. Very friendly staff

This place never ever disappoints. I first started coming here about a year ago and it’s absolutely lacking ambience. If you’re looking for that, go next door to Claret, Quaint, or Dog and Duck. If you’re looking for consistenly good pizza or good diner food, I would suggest Skillman all the way. I love their Greek salad, and their specials are usually really yummy as well. I often get the steak with a house salad. The steak is cut thin and I don’t know what in the world they season it with but WOAH, my taste buds start dancing. Same thing with their homemade Italian dressing. It’s tangy and delicious. I also LOVE their chicken curry with curry chips and their spinach pie. Also, their prices are really decent. Keep in mind that they’re cash only!

Been here a few times, the lady here is very down to earth, friendly and fast. The pizza is nice and my favorite food here is home fries and sweet potato fries. It is not expensive, and close to home. what more can we want! :)

For being a famous pizza and coffee shop, it seems Skillman’s is frequently left out of the Sunnyside pizza conversation. In a hood dominated by Greenpoint and Queens Blvd pizza joints, Skillman’s might be the oldest establishment(with exception to Marabella’s). The interior doesn’t seem like it’d be that much different from a decade or three ago. While old school is cool to some degree, a serious makeover is definitely worth considering. It’s almost like Alpha Donuts, only less interesting. Their thin crust pizza is definitely different from the rest of the competition. Their plain pie is a classic, a bubbled semi-charred surface with a nice crust and a tangy sauce. Though they have a lot of interesting regular combos(green pepper pizza? garlic pizza? gyro pizza?), the specialty pizzas are where its at. Shrimp pizza? Yes and yes. The Don(chicken + penne), is always fun. I am still an advocate of the meat lovers but any one looking to customize their pizza should look into the house specialty pie(a choice of 4 toppings). The rest of menu is something like a diner. Pastas, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, pananis, and even breakfast. Chicken curry, huevos rancheros, and fish cakes? Definitely not one’s average pizza shop. I’m happy to report the prices are reasonable and service has been decent. But, there is still some work to be done. Delivery isn’t always available and thus pickups are pretty common here. Granted it always works in Chinatown or Jackson Heights, I’m not so sure if the cash only thing works in Sunnyside. Hopefully one of these days they’ll be able to embrace the plastic as much as their competition.

Where is the crust? It’s missing. This is not NY style pizza, I’m not sure what style it is but I was not a fan. The bottom of it was super greasy which I don’t know how you do that, and it had way too much cheese for my taste.

My favorite in the Sunnyside neighborhood. My roommates would say Donato’s but Skillman still has my heart. Cheap, fast and delicious!
