Is this place still open? I hope not… When I first heard of this place, I thought — «There’s a club in DT Sunnyvale? I have lunch there 3 – 4 times a week and I’ve never seen one»…now that I’ve been there, I know why I never noticed it and now I have no reason to ever go back. — It needs to be renovated — The music was… ehh okay — A majority of the crowd are… how do I say this without offending anyone… rude, immature, young? It’s not a place for the mid-late 20/early 30 year olds. I’m sure there are some that will disagree, after all, we all have different tastes when it comes to clubs. — The drinks were inconsistent Definitely not a place I’d go out of my way for.

A club in Sunnyvale… already iffy I swear 95% of the crowd were Asian AND I think 80% of that 95% was Vietnamese! I’ve never seen so many Vietnamese people in my life! Ok that was a lie b/c I live in Silicon Valley haha. But really though, there were a lot and of course what’s bound to happen when there’s that many Vietnamese guys around… a fight broke out on the dance floor. LAME Crowd sucks, music sucks, drink sucks. If you want to be adventurous and try out a new club, be my guest. But if you want to have a good time, go elsewhere :)

Hmm, what to say about Abyss. Well first it’s a night club in Sunnyvale so already that should give you some indicators as to the kind of night club it could be i.e. not that exciting. The inside is okay, definitely run down and could use lots of revamping including the initial walk in carpet area to their sticky floors full of gum and other unidentified substances. Usually the line here is pretty long and predominately Asian, I guess it could be like Pearl SJ but for some reason I’d rather go to Pearl than Abyss. The events here are usually more or less the same, you can never really tell what’s going on and it’s always hard to request songs when the DJ booth is 1 mile up in the air. The bouncers here are okay, sometimes nice sometimes … questionable and the wait outside can get really cold and chilly if they stick you in the alley way to get you out of the way of people walking around the small area of downtown Sunnyvale. The cover is $ 5 some nights so I guess that’s not bad … overall eh.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don’t ever, do I even need to say more??? this place needs to shut down. Ghetto VERY ghetto and the DJSUCKED! what a joke. if you want to dance in a overcrowded 18 year old grind pit where every girl gets the opportunity to wear there cheap flea market club attire then by all means otherwise stay home and sleep. One star for the setup of the venue inside.

I went here for the«Halo & Horns» Halloween event. It was a nice venu — there’s a stage(for VIP access?) and dance floors upstairs and on the main level. The crowd was good, cute people in cute costumes(Elmo was there!). There was a HUGE air/fan system right by the stairs near the main dance floor so it never got really musty. We got there at 10 and there was no line, no hassel. The music was good, they were playing all the current hits. I was actually pretty impressed that there were a lot more than a handful of tall Asian people there. Yay for me because I didn’t feel like a giant!

My friend convinced me to go here because being on the guestlist gets you in for $ 5, and I was bored on a Thursday night so I complied. Not only did we not make the guestlist(they hold you in line until 11, when they start charging more), but we also ended up paying $ 15 for a 18+ club that was filled with really sweaty, old men that follow you around. They played non-stop gangster rap(not the good kind, either). I think everyone I came with including myself had zero fun. We left early. I’m giving it two stars instead of one because the venue itself was pretty nice and spacious. Definitely not baller status though.

I went here for my homegirl’s birthday & it was our first time going there for an iRock event. Based on what I saw the bouncers doing, I knew they tried to take as long as they can to search people & let them in on purpose so that people would start paying the regular fee, guestlist or not. We were charged $ 15 to get in since it was past 10:30& we were on the birthday guestlist. Since the birthday girl knew one of the club promoters, she was able to tell him to give us a refund. Luckily, we got to sit in the VIP section for the birthday party so we didn’t have to worry about standing around & looking for places to sit. The music was ALRIGHT. The first couple of DJs were good but then the next DJ started playing some whack ass music. And then the next DJ basically repeated the same songs over & over again. The music could be better. It just depends on the DJ. The people there were annoying. It wasn’t even that crowded but the people who went there made it not worth going to. The crowd that you would see here consisted of either teenagers who just turned 18& think they’re all hard just cuz they can go clubbing now or old perverts looking for some young tail to catch. Really obnoxious little teen boppers & guys with no game.

Pros: Parking is great. Inside décor is actually kinda classy. Bartender was nice.(Al? I think? Idk.) Cons: The DJ last Thursday was horrible(he played slow jams and repeated hella songs). The big ugly bouncers like to annoy the drunk people(except for I think his name was Henry?) Big space but VERY few people. Lollipops in the bathroom are $ 1. Idk if I’d come back.

Pros: Great parking, dress slutty = front of the line Cons: Hot, smells inside, sausage fest, underaged-20 crowd I only go during fuz, just to see my friends, but eventually, the club is just played out. It’s like all the perverts of the bay area come here just to harass girls. I even seen an old man sitting on the bench just staring at all the girls like he was gonna a. punch one or b. go and hump her leg eww !! so umm, unless I’m reallllyyyy bored, and have nothing else to do on a friday. I will go when it’s a good friend’s birthday, but really really drunk.

Omg. Don’t even try it. Unless you are in the 18 – 20 age bracket with no fake id or choice. And if you are in that age bracket, you might want to consider Pop Scene or The Blowup. It is just a bad idea. I went here because I have heard of this place and how it was the Forum, and it’s a big venue. The décor is nice, lots of room… but the crowd was just the deal breaker. Boppers galore… I’m surprised that I saw a sprinkle of 21 and uppers, maybe they were curious or there to supervise. The line was super long, but I manage to cut the front because maybe I dressed up? You will see a lot of casual wear here. It’s confusing. Ghetto place, lots of fashion faux pas, gay Kanye West wannabes, grills, and muuuuch more. It was so bad here, that I was calling someone, anyone to come and save me.

A decent 18 and up club that doesn’t have anything special. The interior is well decorated, it’s not too pricey, and there’s a large parking lot that doesn’t require looking too hard. The one problem that I have with this place is that it’s often PACKED with obnoxious, horny kids that are fresh out of high school and the ratio of males to females(which is a very real concern for many) teeters towards the male side. Not really my scene, although it was a fun place as a college freshman I while back.

If you’re looking for some hot ass, this is NOT, I repeat, this is NOT the place to go to. I was considering on giving in and coming to this so-called«Fuz» event that happens at this venue… but… have you guys even SEEN the club promotion website??? It’s disgraceful!!! Look at all the pictures. Is that the kind of place you want to hang around? With all the American-Asian morons? Omg. So ghetto, I literally gagged after looking at the photos. I feel ashamed after looking at the crowd… Not a single good-looking or redeeming soul in there. Most of the crowd is straight, although it’s supposed to be a 18+ gay/lesbian club… but those who are gay/lesbian, wow. no… yeah, no. Plus, I thought asian butches were supposed to look a little softer, but they look pretty stone to me. That’s why I don’t go to 18+ clubs… Now, the 21+ lesbian clubs, that’s where all the babes are!!! To be seen here is just too embarassing. Hit up another club, unless you’re bored and ghetto and feel like going somewhere closeby in the southbay. This is more of a place if you’re desperate for some light and attention.(I mean, come on, look at the photos for yourself) Wow, I’m so embarassed to write a review on this place.

If i could rate it a ZERO, I would. Went here unknowingly on a gay night. Came here for my friends birthday. Although she’s old enough to hit up the 21+ clubs, she picked this spot ’cause she went with her underaged friend a few weeks before and she said it was«crackin» and she wanted to go there again for her bday(mainly so her underaged sisters could party it up with us) Right when we get into the parking lot I already knew I was too damn old for this place. Kids runnin around hella excited like they JUSTTURNED18 going to the club for the first time. We get into the club and it smelled like an old ass movie theater… and it looked like one too. I didnt even bother to scope out the scene, I just went straight upstairs to the bar. I ordered a Corona… it was in a CAN… WTF? The crowd there was annoying and the music sucked! Sorry, but i’m not the one to dance to Lady Gaga The bathroom was DISGUSTING, but what club bathroom isnt… There were at least 3 doors missing from the stalls! Even my friends sister and her friend(both just turned 18 last month) wasn’t feelin the spot… Lets just say that for their first club experience, it wasnt a good one. bottom line, this place sucks… =T

I only went for Fuz, the gay night, and only because my friend was on the birthday list and could get me in for $ 5. Otherwise, $ 15 is pretty outrageous just to dance to the same songs over and over again. The security didn’t hassle us too much, and everyone there was nice and focused on having a good time. No fights, less tacky club-crawling girls than other places, and relatively clean bathrooms. There’s a coat check at the front, too. For dancing, there’s ample space on the floor, but also a large stage in front and a long table like a catwalk in the middle of the room. The stage was restricted at some times, but not at others. Mystery. If you want to get on the catwalk, you have to be vigilant and keeping an eye out for when a gay guy finally tires himself out and vacates. From what I saw, it didn’t seem like you had to be particularly good to get up there. Just hop on up. Good enough for a fun time with friends with the birthday deal(during your birthday month, you get in free, and five friends for $ 5 each). Tips: It’s also $ 5 if you’re 21+ and get in before 11 pm, but you should keep in mind that you’ll spend some time waiting in line; pregaming in the parking lot is risky because there’s usually a cop car parked or patrolling.

Yarrrrr, what the hell am I doing here? «chris, you’re coming, we have a table kthxbye». «oh dude I forgot to tell you, you need a tie haha, heres one» WTF do I need a tie for? The bouncer made me put it on straight and everything just so I could take it off as soon as I got inside. This place was pretty empty and a few Bboys and bgirls for the first few hours. Then it gets mildly occupied and thats it. It wasn’t really poppin all night. Music was the worst part, 1 good song followed by 3 bad ones. This made the dancefloor a wasteland for the majority of time with people just at the bar or leaning on the walls. The table on the stage was pretty nice but other than that meh. The waitress only had to monitor 2 full tables so it was easy to maintain cups and mixers. I’ve always been down as a soldier to show moral support but damn this is really pushing it.

5STARSFORDOWNLINK’S CLUBFUZ. 1 star for everything else they have. I’ve been to their under 18 club night. High school teens thinking they know how to dance bumping and grinding to every song playing is absolutely disgusting. After the parties over, they wait in the parking lot for their momma’s to pick them up. gross. Their other club nights are just as ghetto and overpriced. lameee However, club fuz is where it’s at. a queer night the 2nd and 4th friday of every month, people here are mostly chill and come to have fun and meet new people. only $ 10 before 10:30pm and free if your birthday’s that month and you can bring in 5 friends for only $ 5. score! The music is mainly the popular hits at the time and the dj is constantly mixing it up so you never get bored. Also, the special dance performances are always amazing and provide a nice little break for your over-worked feet. props to those who cheered on for me to win this year’s costume contest as Leeloo from the 5th element. :]

Until I came here, I had never been a(potential) victim of projectile vomit. I like gay clubs and/or gay clubbing events because that means no one will hit on me(hooray!). Since my friend is awesome and was cool with whoever was manning the cover charges, we ended up not having to pay. I went here with two friends for Fuse, which was, in itself, pretty cool. Some people were pretty freaking slutty. :\ The security guard kept having to pull these two girls apart because they kept trying to get it on on the side of the stage. But I count that as a given at any club these days. My friend kept steering me away every now and then, which I paid no real attention to, since I just figured he saw unsavory characters and was trying to save me from them. «Them» turned out to be a «her.» A grey-faced, «how-are-you-still-standing-after-consuming-so-much-booze-and-hell-knows-what-else?» her. I happened to be taking a break and sitting down when I saw her face take on an even sicklier pallor.(She’d been following us for awhile.) Luckily, with my quick thinking(this rarely happens, but I’m glad that it did on this one occasion), I swiftly lifted my feet up. BLEHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Said girl projectile-vomits in my direction. I am shielded by the brunt of the attack by a noble boy in blue.(Poor soul. :’() Upchuck is sprayed on the floor in front of me. Had I not lifted my feet, my shoes would be covered in puke. Should I include the fact that I was more than 7 feet away from this girl? D-damn. Seriously. The boy in blue is not aware that he saved me from disaster. That’s real nobility, right there.

5-STARS for Downelink’s FUZ, 2nd& Last Fridays @ Abyss Quite possibly THEMOSTTALENTED dance floor anywhere! Young(18+?) and(predominantly) gay, the fashion forward crowd here burns up the floor with frenetic, endless movement. And being well attended by throngs of accomplished dancers(representing some of the best dance crews around), you are guaranteed to see more than a simple two-step. Keeping pace here is a serious, aerobic workout. Guest crews perform regularly on stage, showng off new choreography to some of the latest tracks/remixes, much to raucous support and cheers from friends and fans! Even with no real dress code, the legion of hip people here is trendy/cutting edge; kicks of all sorts, skinny jeans, caps, scarves, etc, etc… stylish at every angle Beautiful people, strong drinks, dope beats, tight dance moves? Yeah, you know where to find me… _____________________________________________ … attention is flattering, even/especially when unexpected.

This place used to be the spot. After being renamed about fifty times, everybody I know who still remembers how it used to be calls it the forum. Everytime I come here, its always different. Sometimes it attracts the«hyphy» crowd(which i cannot stand) other times it’ll be all asians. Security varies as well, they’ll be super strict about dress code on some nights, other nights I can get in with a white tee and jeans. Alot of the younger crowds tend to come down here because theres not much to do for the 18+ in San Jose, so thats also a negative IMO. it’s not a bad place to go out, and if its free cover i don’t mind. but i wouldn’t pay to come in here.

THANKGOD I DIDNOTPAYTOGETIN. IF I DiD, I WOULDHAVEBEENEXTREMELYMAD. MADENOUGHTOTYPEMYENTIREREVIEWINCAPS! Okay. So 1 star for the cute guy I danced with all night. 1 star for the strong drinks I had. Minus 1 star for the 5 fights(I even saw a girl get decked in the face by a guy!!) and 1 stabbing that took place… Which leaves us at 1 star. Freaking Vietnamese gangsters, you can always expect that type of shit from south bay clubs. That’s about it. I think it was also the COLDEST club I have ever been to in my whole entire life. You’d think that dancing and consuming alcohol all night would help keep ya warm but NO! I was freezing all night. I was here on a saturday night(i don’t know which production company was throwing the party) but the dj sucked. He kept repeating music. At least he played Guns N Roses. But it felt sort of weird dancing to «Sweet Child of Mine» in a club full of fobby du ma Vietnamese people. I most likely will never go back. Once again, I must reiterate the fact that I didn’t pay to get in. I only had fun dancing with the cute guy…
