Very friendly staff and food made in house. The asada was delicious but the carnitas were not shredded and not crispy, kinda gross. The horchata had too much corn syrup and left an icky taste in your mouth. Their chips and salsa were delicious.

Name has changed here now. Instead of the market being Arteaga’s, it’s now called Super Sunnyvale Market. Along with this change come new Persian owners and management. The menu is being redone. While the Mexican items were still listed on a temporary menu, they are now serving Persian style skewers as more or less the specialty. As the Mexican cook had failed to show the day I was there, they only had the Persian food so I gave it a try. I chose the chicken version. It was basically a seasoned meatloaf type of thing on a metal skewer grilled on a charbroiler. It was decent and reasonably priced with a large side of persian style rice and a roasted tomato.

The thing to get here is birria. Some of the other meats are ok, asada, al pastor, but the birria is where it’s at. The people are pretty friendly, though it’s weird to be eating in a super market. Make though mistake though, everyone here will most likely be Mexican so this is the real deal.
