Don’t ever order food online at this place. They have no clue how to maintain time. I ordered my food 8 hours in advance and knowing how this place operates I knew it was going to be late. 1 hour late is a joke.

Arrived on Sunday late afternoon, partially occupied. What’s good(blindly go for these): 1) chat basket 2) dahi batata puri Worst problems: 1) it took them more 5 than mins for them to find us a table 2) alloo /batata vada was cold as ice(seriously — did you just heat it in microwave 3) kofta curry — they should rename to turmeric curry !!! Common — be at least reasonable. Curry was horrible !! 4) took more than 20 mins for them to serve order on puri bhajji 5) service horrible — don’t clean up dishes, let them stay there forever 6) pricey entrees /appetizer(gobi Manchurian) way to pricey for the $ 8.99. I counted the gobi pieces, it was a about 6⁄7 at max. For this I won’t recommend anyone to come here, Until these guys improve their food quality and customer service !!

This is a great place, sometimes where you have to compromise the quality of service. I like their $ 5 to-go box !!!

Have been here before once and had a proper meal, it was alright. today we came here just for their Chaats, we ordered their –Vada Paao(Inspired by tips from co-Yelpers) — 5 star(Ordered another one because it was so good) –Paao Bhaaji(A friends suggestion) — 4 star I would have preferred a little more spice in their bhaaji(curry) and the paao(buns) were not pepping hot as I like them. They were warm-ISH and a little on the sweeter side –Dahi Batata Sev Poori(Just because we wanted to to try it) — 5 star, both the taste and serving size was impressive. — Amritsari Kulche Chole–(It’s their May special) — 4 star, loved the Kulche –fresh son and yummy, chana tasted average –Paneer Bhurji wrap in spinach Parantha — 3.5 star– the bhurji was too oily and we could taste raw turmeric because it wasn’t cooked enough. On the bright side, we knew they made it fresh :) — Tandoori Paneer Tikka Masala —(not sure if I have the name of this dish right, its served as a sizzler) — 3 star– Although it was fresh soft paneer cooked to perfection, the flavors were missing. Have had better paneer tikka. The parking at the restaurant gets tricky as it gets full very quickly, there is street parking in the street behind the establishment if you don’t mind walking a bit. I deducted a star for a solitary fly I saw on the glass of our window seat and not-squeky-clean washrooms.

Fantastic flavorful dishes by chef and v quick service even on a Saturday! Thali dishes had different flavours for each curry. Bhel was so crispy n tasty! Kashmiri dum aloo was ok bit spicy… Long wait time, ~30 minutes… but totally worth the wait for such great food! Have a CB gift card n always keep buying it

Whenever I feel like having some authentic Indian food, i go to this place. There home thali is my personal favorite, specially because they serve you fresh chappattis(bread) with that.

Many of the chat items do not live up to the restaurant name. Main course items like curries, paratha, roti, naan or thali are good. Better than most of the Indian places nearby. Bottom line, if you are there, skip chats and order to the main course.

From the beeline and tons of review, this place seems to be pretty popular but this place is for masses seeking cheap barely good but good enough for the low priced, high volume fare. It does not even come close to other Chaat Bhavans. The chutneys remind us that California may be out of drought as the flavorless concoction for sure has lot of water. So the chaats and the snacks fare follow the same story. Just good to qualify as Indian fare. Do yourself a favor. If you value paying a few extra bucks for quality, seek better options elsewhere and leave this place for the masses who love Costco. Service is terrible.

Excellent chaat. And reasonably priced too. Had Masala Chaat & Dahi Papdi Chaat combo with tea. Loved it!

We have eaten one of the best chaat over here, staff is really friendly. The only issue is the big waiting times, which is worth for such a good chaats. Really recommend this place indian snacks.

Chaat Bhavan is a local small franchise chain serving the Indian community. Not really a super hip urban place with soft lighting, hip music and a bar. Well, maybe the music. It’s all vegetarian so if you want chicken tikka or anything meaty, this is not the place. At Chaat Bhavan I typically don’t experiment with dishes that I’m not familiar with, and we also usually take out as opposed to dine in. This is kind of my go to place for comfort food. The hours are also a plus. Many local restaurants of this type close between lunch and dinner. Chaat Bhavan does not. It’s nice to come in between the rush hours and get food. The veg burger, pani puri, masala puri and sometimes the gobi manchurian or any of the parantha’s are all consistently awesome even though I believe that the portion sizes have begun to shrink. Those dishes are always worth the time and expense. This place is pretty much always busy, yet the staff are unfailingly polite. While they do have a surface parking lot it’s a little tricky as the lot is small and cramped, and fills up quickly. Odds are you’ll get a space, but it may be cramped and in an corner. While being pricier then nearby locations that serve chaat I still keep coming coming back for the consistency. Especially the veggie burger. I like the options of Indochinese items such as gobi manchurian and hakka noodles along with veg burger. Typically chaat places will not carry these items, and if they do it won’t be of such consistent quality.

My experience here is always debatable. the food at times is disappointing but non-the less it’s worth the visit anyways! Chaat being a favorite is something I always order, Pani poori and Bhel are both good. The craving for Vada pav too never ceases in just one, though sev puri isn’t that great and can be avoided. Chana Bhatura, paneer paratha are well prepared and the portion size is apt too. Amongst the drinks– mango lassi, flalooda drink and the Khus lassi are all very refreshing. Overall the Chaat Bhavan does always get repeat guests, service can sure be improved.

Chinese Bhel, Dabeli, and Samosa Chaat were completely different from what we expected. Spice and salt were off in mostly all dishes. Paneer Bhurji Wrap was horrible.

This place had good chat, provided prompt service… Most things suggested by other reviewers were a safe bet, Chana bhatura and dahi puri were really nice but some of the other things ordered on the table did not live up to the same standards! My suggestion for first timers, go by the suggestions and reviews and ull truly relish it!

Amazing place. I visit this place often and I love their thali. The great things about this place is 1) Taste: I bet its the best in the area. Neither too spicy nor bland 2) Menu Options: A fairly wide variety of items 3) Service and presentation: Quick and nice Keep it up guyz !!

Was a cold Sunday morning and the three of us were craving some good basics. Even though Unilocal didn’t give this place good reviews. We were in the neighborhood and decided to live on the wild side! We got there just as the Open sign came on… My three year old was starving so we ordered a bhatura straight away. They were very prompt in bringing it out. Hot fresh and fluffy! The Chinese bhel hit the spot. The parathas were great! The kadhi rice was sensational :) The chilli paneer wrap was average though The service was great We will be back :)

Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars I’ll write a review when I come back to try more dishes, but for now the two chaat dishes we got were super good! Good prices, great food, nothing too spicy(and i don’t mean«hot» spicy — I mean overwhelming spices that confuse my senses). I’d definitely be back to try more!
