I remember the family stand before the family sold majority of the land. The one down fall is the parking. PARKINGSUCKS in this plaza. Fortunately, Olson has a few reserved parking spots on El Camino, in front of the stand, but it is still a dangerous spot to park. You have to dodge the traffic and the buses that zoom by on El Camino. The produce is good and the prices are kind of reasonable. I find better prices for fruit at Sprouts or Trader Joes(both within walking distance to Olson’s stand). However I always feel good about buying from this stand because of the stand’s history in Sunnyvale. If you have never been to the stand you must check it out but beware of the parking.

First of all, this entry should be merged with the other Cj Olson Unilocal entry. SECOND of all, I though this was the foolproof place to go for perfect fruit, but after spending 14 bucks on perfect looking, $ 2.99/ pound peaches, plums and nectarines, I get home, take a bite, and find that the peaches were bruised, the nectarines were mushy and grainy and flavorless and gross, and the plums were rotten on the inside! So far, out of of the 8 or so pieces of stone fruit I bought, I’ve had one good plum and a fairly tasty non-bruised half of a peach. So now I don’t know WHAT to think about this place, having gotten such divine fruit one time and such horrendous fruit the next!

I grew up in Sunnyvale when it was all cherry, apricot, walnut orchards. CJ Olson always had the very best cherries. I also love the dried Blenheim apricots. They’re like eating candy!!! Very high quality! I don’t mind paying more when the quality is the very best!!! Thank you for providing excellent products.

CJ Olson’s fruit market is as good as it gets, AND, it’s in my neighborhood! Yeah! I kept driving by the distinct tower and fruit house meaning to stop in and wow, I am glad I finally did last week. Their fruits, candy, jams and other homemade treats are all amazing! The BEST part however, is that they let you taste your selection before you buy. They have sliced fruits, candy crumbles and spreads all out for your tasting pleasure. You can’t beat that! Everything I picked out was perfect, and I knew it in advance. The family that runs the place is super nice too. I talked with them about their fresh figs and he let me try one even though it wasn’t on sample! The also have ‘cut’ versions of their fruits for only cents more on the lb. There are certain things there that are pricey but all-in-all, I think they have competitive prices with say, Whole Foods. I definitely like the environment here more! I felt like I was back home in Missouri for a while. I’ll definitely be back! See ya there. :)

Hands down best Cherry Pie anywhere! Big, beautiful bing cherries inside a perfectly made crust that falls apart in layers in your mouth. Not the right time of year for cherries… no problem, they have some frozen for you year round. I don’t mind the frozen part at all when you get such a wonderful mouth full of large, lucious cherries! Price… don’t ask… it is a little pricey but you really get a quality product! Wander around the store and sample fresh produce, candies and other assorted items. CJ’s is one of the last actual local family produce stores around. Buy local or you’re going to be getting everything shipped to your grocery store from who knows where!

Since 1899, CJ Olson’s has been an institution in the south bay– which I just found out last week. For over one hundred years, they have been selling their own cherry pie. A native south bayer told me she remembered watching the Olson’s drying cherries along the road side next to their orchards. I guess the produce stand has since moved and the orchards are now homes, but Olson’s survives. I bought 2 avocados, 2 beefsteak tomatoes, 2 ruby reds, and 2 pink lady apples for just over $ 4. Most produce is locally grown and they specialize in other homemade and locally grown jams, nuts, and other goodies. Drop Whole Foods and go truly local with CJ Olson’s. You’ll probably save $ 10.00!

This is a down-sized version of Casa de Fruta. CJ Olson’s specializes in cherries and other fruit products. Either fresh or dried, they have many seasonal varieties on offer. They also sell specialty sodas and little unique items. As expected, prices are higher than usual.
