waited at the front counter for about 10 minutes until an employee finally came to the front to help me.(fyi-i was the only customer there) the lady who gave me my wax was very slow and i felt that she was not experienced at all! my eyebrow wax was horrible; i should have just plucked it myself. i still gave her a tip, but i doubt i’ll be coming back here. the only thing I enjoyed was the fancy décor and atmosphere.

I Joy Spa is a full-service spa that specializes in various skin care(including facials) treatments and body slimming treatments, besides hair and nail services. The interior is clean and modern. I always get my hair cuts and straightening perms from this place and love them! The owner is very accomodating in terms of scheduling. The price is reasonable compared to other salons.

a little pricey but you get what you pay for so thats fine. They always spend the extra time to do it right. Facials, hair, massage, it is all worth it! Great spa!

This place was near my home, and I wanted a massage so I decided to try it out. Being that I am the first review for this place, I hope people take my opinion in account! First, the place is very nice; shiny, hardwood floors with a very metropolitan atmosphere. So, my first impression was pretty good. Now, let me just say that I have been to a few massage places like Water Course Way in Palo Alto, and I love my massages. Usually, when you go in for a massage, you expect the atmosphere to be relaxed. NOT what I encountered here. I was immediately rushed to the massage room and was given no time to relax. Nor was I asked if I wanted something to drink like water or tea. I’m pretty quick at dressing down and usually I’m laying on the table under the blankets nude for 10 minutes before someone knocks. But here, I was barely given enough time to dress down before the girl came in to begin massaging. She kept the door cracked open, where I could hear everything in that was going on in that small spa. It was highly irritating and not at all relaxing. She also kept pinching my fingertips and toes while massaging. Really hurt. She also left the room many times and returned. I never enountered that before and it was very distracting when she left, because the door was wide open. Last of my complaints is that the light in that cramped little massage room is those asian paper lamps, which is too bright in that room. They should have candles instead. I do have to say, though, that all things considered, I LOVED the head neck and shoulder massage. It helped my tension headache I was feeling that day. That was wonderful. Also, I used this coupon from the mail and got an hour massage for $ 40! Really can’t beat that and for that price, its worth a shot. So, if you want a quick massage and are low on cash, this place would be a good place to go. I think I might return here for a facial, as it seems they specialize in that. For a massage, I might spend the extra money at Water Course Way, though. I get the whole relaxation experience there. But, this place was good for the price.
