This place sucks… I mean, yeah the décor may be nice with a very japanese/asian style/look, but the place is dead empty… There are awkward turtles swimming everywhere throughout the restaurant! –__-” I went there twice, and it just kept getting wierder… One time I was eating and the manager was standing behind a tree, just looking at me… I looked away for a bite of sushi, looked up and then he was behind those cover/curtain things still looking at me, then I looked down again hella wierded out, looked up and he was GONE… FREAKINNINJA… i felt HELLA uncomfortable!!! Plus the sushi isn’t all that great… Yeah they’ve been doing 20−30% off discount deals for a while, but that’s only becuase their sushi doesn’t match anywhere near other places on el camino like sushi o sushi, ocean blue club, etc… The pieces are tiny, not enough fish, lotta rice, just bleh. Only good thing I’d have to say is service is alright… The waitresses are nice but they stand around doing nothing either… Just looking at you eat… Kinda like the ninja manager, but not as pro…

I came here last night with a friend because I had a certificate from that I wanted to use($ 25 off $ 50 or more). We decided to go with the rolls and ordered 2 rolls each. I ordered the Crabby Patty and Lucky 7 rolls; my friend ordered the Monster and Cherry Blossom rolls. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the rolls were! I wasn’t expecting the quality to be that great, but all the rolls were very tasty and the fish was pretty fresh. For dessert, we ordered the fried banana and ice cream crêpe, which was a good finish to the meal. One note: the rolls are 30% off for the month of March, but if you use a certificate, they charge you full price for all the menu items. They also tack on 18% gratuity. We did a rough calculation, and we actually would have spent a little less if we ordered the exact same thing but didn’t use the certificate. Maybe next time… –L.

We came here because my boyfriend wanted to try it out. Last time I ever listen to his suggestions again! Just kidding. but really this place was not that great. I wish we had come here when they were offering discounts on their rolls because they were far too expensive for what they were regularly! As for the quality, mmm, typical place that has lots of fancy rolls with sauces, etc. The mugaro was good, tuna was very fresh and generous cuts. Unagi was meeehhh, didn’t really like it here. The other rolls we got were their specialty rolls which were okay. I put this place as the same level as totoro sushi on saratoga. Lots of sauces that mask the flavor of the dish. Service was a bit slow. We had to ask the server for more wasabi twice. She forgot the first time and it took forever to get her attention again. Average sushi, average service. Good, convenient location. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

This was our 3 – 4 time at Yume sushi. They are next door to a Korean BBQ joint that is good and tends to have a long wait on many nights which is how we first ended up eating there. Since then we have had the sashimi platters and many of the rolls and in general the food is solid and depending on who is behind the sushi bar — the platters can be quite good. PLUS they participate in — so if you have one of their vouchers you save $ 25 off a $ 50 dinner order — keep in mind that they often run specials on their rolls(previously 50% off now just 30% off) — and these apparently don’t apply to this deal too. All and all — solid food, good fish and tonight they threw in some miso for all of us and ice cream(granted we had a $ 100 bill for three of us before the discount) — but in my mind they should regularly toss in edemame, soup and even a small salad. These are minor costs and sushi can get pricey when dragging adolescent boys with you ! Anyway — the sashimi platters have been good here — as have the rolls — we like them without all the goopy sauces… keep up the good works guys and keep those specials on the rolls going. We’ll keep coming back. CONSIDERIT A SOLIDCHOICEINTHEAREA.

They have a lot of rolls… They were decent, but I wish they make them a little tighter… It was a little difficult to eat as the roll was falling apart a little The Rainbow roll was the best out of Rattle Snake, and the Spider roll. The service was good, and the waitress even offer free ice cream for us. Also they have 40% off on rolls, and 20% off on sake.

With a big sign that says 50% off rolls, I had to try this place! I thought there would be massive lines and the sushi portions would be small. Upon stepping in to pick up my order, I noticed there was only one table of people. Okay, that is not a good sign. When I“m in Dallas for work, and I go to places that have $ 1 the line is out the door. I ordered a baked salmon roll, red dragon roll, salmon tempura roll, spicy tuna ca roll, and one other roll. Note only special rolls are 50% off. The rolls are nothing special — below average in my book compared with Sushi o Sushi, Chocolate Sushi, and Ocean club. My favorite was the Salmon tempura roll. The other rolls felt like it was a CA roll with some added stuff on top of it. The baked salmon roll was aight, but nothing compared to Sushi o Sushi’s. My final bill came out to $ 35. Not bad for 5 rolls, but then again these rolls are nothing compared to the other places. You get what you pay for. Normally, I would get 4 rolls from Sushi o Sushi and it would be about $ 50. The portions are good here, as we had leftovers. The rolls came out to about $ 6 – 7 each. I wouldn’t pay anything more than that. Without the 50% discount, my bill would have been $ 70(no wonder the sign has been up for months). I’d rather spend the extra bucks and get better quality Sushi. I’ll be going to Japan this summer and I can’t wait to eat Sushi over there!!!

STAYAWAY!!! CUSTOMERBEWARE!!! Please check your bill carefully!!! Actually, it is not hard to check since everything could be wrong. I just had lunch with my family and I can simply sum it as the worst, deceitful experience in a restaurant I have experienced. We decided to give this restaurant a try based on their 50% off all rolls sign. First, we ordered the Shiki roll($ 6.88 after discount). We were given 3 menus(Main Menu, Specialty roll picture page and a Sushi order page). I asked if the 50% off promotion was just for the Specialty rolls or all rolls(I saw the sign but just wanted to confirm). The waitress then said«all rolls.» The Shiki roll came out without any Spicy Crab so we sent it back. I didn’t think this was a big issue since I ordered my kid’s rolls without wasabi so I figured this was just a mistake. We ordered a Tonkatsu/Beef Teriyaki combo to sample as well.(The Beef Teriyaki was dry, overcooked and tough. The Tonkatsu was overcooked so the breading was nearly burnt). We then ordered a Spicy Tuna/Avocado roll and a Salmon/Avocado roll. The Spicy Tuna/Avocado came out with Cucumber and not Avocado. I asked the waitress that they forgot the Avocado and she said that the sushi makers did not follow the menu and that it was a common problem. Our fixed Shiki roll eventually came since they had forgotten about it. Our tea cups were empty and were not refilled until we asked(which echoes another reviewer’s comment). We then asked if the 50% discount applied for TOGO orders which we were told yes. So we ordered a Tuna and Salmon roll to go for our other kids. Then the bill came … The $ 4.95 Tuna and Salmon roll was priced at $ 3.46 not the expected $ 2.48. I asked about the bill and what happened to our 50% discount. The waitress explained that the menu price was not correct. We did get the 50% discount but the $ 5 sushi was actually closer to $ 7.00. She said that there were different prices but not stated in the menu. This was plain deceit now. She then explained that I was charged extra for the avocado added to my Salmon roll. So I just clarified with her that I paid for a Spicy Tuna/Avocado that came with Cucumber with no price adjustment, but having Avocado with Salmon was a price increase. She then left and came back and said that the sign says 50% off Specialty rolls and 30% off regular rolls. Unless there is 0.5 point font on the sign, it clearly reads 50% off all rolls. She then said that the price in the menu should be right, but that I was only getting a 30% discount. However, she had no evidence of a 30% discount. So now my head was spinning. The sushi makers change the ingredients. They do not adjust for what they take out but they add for putting in. The 50% off ALL rolls is not«ALL» There is a discretionary 30% discount The menu prices are not fixed There is no service (My wife also has an upset stomach from one of her rolls.) In the end, we are never coming back and we urge all of you to do the same. If you have been here before and plan to go back, I urge that you try a more reputable place with better quality, taste and similar pricing(nearby Gombei or Cherry Sushi). If you have never been here and think my review is not helpful, I urge you to ask clearly what«all» means and check your bill carefully. Or just make your life less complicated and just plain STAYAWAY.

Wished Shiki was still here as it was a notch or two above Yume. The 50% off rolls sign apparently has been up for months even though I was coming for Shiki… I did not know it had changed and was not able to research on Unilocal prior to eating. The half price sushi is almost half the size of Sen Dai. Nigiri pieces are small and not discounted. Not much flare in the presentation. Service is very good. Overall would not repeat when Sen Dai and eSushi are out there and Shiki is gone!

I drove around El Camino with my bf in search of a new place to eat and came across Yume. We saw that the parking lot was full so we peeked in to see if it was crackin or not. We noticed 50% off rolls. We were seated accordingly and the place looked fine. The only thing I had a problem was the seating. THESEATINGISWAYTOCLOSETOEVERYONE! I’m not tryna bump chairs behind someone or hear everyones conversation here. We ordered the Lion King roll, and some other roll I forgot that had salmon in it, and a bento box consisting of the teriyaki chicken and spicy tuna. The baked Lion King roll was alright. It was pretty mushy in my mouth. They blow torch their baked rolls. I thought the whole point of baked rolls was to have it baked in the oven… The bento box sucked. the chicken tasted like rubber. The salad was totally watered down –_– Id come here again for the unbaked rolls. But thats about it. Keep the 50% off rolls and maybe customers would keep coming.

50% off all sushi rolls? Blasphemy! The bf and I had to investigate… yes, it sounded too good to be true, but we needed to change it up and try something new… We walked in to discover the interior was decked out in shoji screens and tatami rooms, cute and quaint. The waiter sat us down at a table that was positioned in front of a woven grass screen and that’s when I noticed boo-boo #1: proximity. I like to lean sometimes, and when I leaned into the barrier, it tipped and I FELT the person sitting on the other side… gross! [I was so mortified while apologizing for copping a feel-skie from a stranger…] Immediately afterward, I realized all the tables were positioned close together, and it wasn’t just ours… I couldn’t concentrate on the menu because I felt like I was smack-dab in the middle of everyone else’s conversations around us. [damned that seating!] The server came back to take our order and took my mind off of the noise. Anyways, the bf and I usually average a $ 60 – 70 meal between the two of us every time we go for sushi… That usually consists of 3 – 5 rolls between the two of us, a soup and salad… and sometimes, something to-go for a family member. We ordered the same amount we usually consumed, and couldn’t wait to see if this place was worthy to put into the rotation of sushi establishments we haunt. The sushi was okay. Nothing special. The dragon roll, you can’t mess up… I had a maki roll with an assortment of raw fish on it — I forgot the name, but it was okay. The cuts of fish were a little thin, in my opinion — and they weren’t evenly distributed. they were placed on top of the roll in sections of different kinds of fish. That weirded me out a little, and the presentation was a little off. The tuna rolls were average — not as spicy as I’d have liked it, but at least the fish was fresh. We ordered the baked salmon roll and Lion King, and the baked rolls were EXTREMELY salty. It was my bf’s order, but when he tried to pawn it off on me, I knew something was wrong with it… upon tasting, I was able to confirm that their baked rolls made up for lack in flavor with mounds of saltiness. The servers did not once check up on us during our dining experience, and my tea was not refilled until we had to ASK for the check. One of the employees made a joke and said, «We’re not trying to kick you out after you eat!» — and I understand how if you were over seas, putting a check down before finishing your meal is considered rude… so I had to let the bf in on that bit of info before he started hating on them. His argument is that they did not once come by to check up on us the entire time… *shrug* Either way, our entire meal came out to $ 45 – 50 including tax+tip. It was nice to not spend so much, but we’re definitely avoiding the baked rolls next time… if there is a next time. Sorry guys, Sen Dai still reigns supreme in the cheap good sushi department.

Chubby Bunny. Location — check! Ambiance — check! Prices — check!(with 50% off«special rolls» and 20% off drinks) Food — a’ight Waiter Service — umm… no thanks. I should have brought a flag like they use at Nordstrom rack to get service. I think a red one would match the interior. Other Service — umm… noooooooooooo thanks. I saw the chef continually stuff his mouth while he was working and I think he may have been playing chubby bunny but with sushi not marshmallows.

The first time we came here, we had a downright fabulous experience. We got to meet the owner(I forget his name) and was really nice. Food was excellent, service was great. The second time we came here — same thing. Food came out a bit slower, but we were lucky enough to get the same server as last time, who was just as nice as before. The third time was definitely not the best. We got a different server, and was disappointed to see our favorite server guy working a different set of tables. Our new server seemed a bit rushed, and maybe she was new??? She promptly took our order, and brought out my fiancé’s sashimi dinner. Easy enough — it’s raw fish. I ordered a bento with sashimi and tonkatsu. Not so easy I guess. Not only did it take forever, but she brought out a competely wrong dish! She was already walking away when I told her I didn’t order any salmon, nor did I order any tempura. ugh. So after watching my fiancé finish his dinner as I sat there with my empty miso and salad bowls, my dinner finally arrived. The saving grace is that their sushi always tastes fresh, and the portions are fairly big. Then again, considering the price — it better be huge! On any other night, I’d recommend this place. The fish is fresh, they have at least ONE nice server, and the owner is usually mingling around somewhere saying hi to guests. I have to agree — the salad isn’t the prettiest thing(plus I’m not a huge fan of iceburg lettuce) but the dressing is tasty. Plus their tea is pretty good. But after that 3rd experience, it may take a while for us to muster up enough courage to come back…

Located in the same plaza as the Palace Buffet and Hankook Supermarket; Yume-Sushi offers your typical Japanese sushi restaurant with americanized rolls. This Korean operated restaurant is rather pricey for it’s mediocre service and food. The food really didn’t stand out much and the service was rather impersonal and very robotic w/a touch of, «Hurry up and order,» attitude that I felt from our waitress, even though the restaurant itself was pretty empty. I’d give this place a 2.5. I think it would be a more of a pleasant experience if the service was better.

What a disorganized mess! Lunchtime service was unacceptably slow today. It would make sense if the restaurant was at full capacity, but it was half empty when I was there. Not only did the kitchen produce dishes at turtle speed, but there was only one slowpoke waitress circling around looking all frazzled. We waited almost an hour for our food to arrive, and I could see the table next to us getting impatient waiting to be served. The food was just okay and my spicy tuna rolls were sloppily assembled. The entire lunch took about an hour and a half and I REALLY wanted to be back at work sooner than that. This is one establishment I’ll never visit again.

This place is convenient for me. a few blocks down el camino and bam there it is for me! It is right next to Korean BBQ Palace. so if you are ever tired of waiting there, hop on right over to Yume Sushi. I was iffy about going here but my mom wanted to try it out. I looked inside at first to be honest to see if there were people sitting inside. or else if no one was in there. i wouldn’t of gone in… The décor of this place is very nice. They have a section of their restaurant where private rooms are located, and you take off your shoes to sit on the ground japanese style. This makes the place more japanese than other sushi places that are just table service. I ordered a bento box with salmon teriyaki/california rolls and the rest side dishes were the typical: salad/tempura/edemame/rice/miso soup. I actually enjoyed it alot. It was quite a lot of food. the salmon teriyaki was just right and very moist. not dry at all to my liking. I thought it wasn’t going to be enough so we had also ordered the philadelphia roll and lion king roll. The lion king roll was alright compared to other places that I have tried at. The sashimi available here is pretty fresh indeed. The service was a bit slow towards the end. and they forgot an order so we had to remind them unfortunately. My overall experience here was very enjoyable and I was satisfied with my food. I don’t remember what they say but everytime someone entered the restaurant they yelled out something. I guess hello in japanese or something?!? But it got annoying though throughout dinner since a lot of people were coming in…

Yume is hidden in the same plaza as Palace BBQ. I only went here because of good ol’ . WIthout the certificate, I would say this place is a bit pricey. Don’t order the bento boxes, it’s not that great. I would recommend any of the sushi dishes, the fish is mighty fresh. It just melts in your mouth easily. This place is another one of them Korean owned Japanese places. One thing I want to rave about is the superb customer service we received from out Korean waiter boy. He was very very accommodating to us. I had a cough attack there and he came with water, then when I started coughing again, he asked, worried that it was the food that was giving me this gagging reaction.(I’ve been sick for a while, so it had nothing to do with their food.) Anyway, I just thought that was a nice thing for him to do, extra star just for that!

This place is OK, but expensive. It’s a Korean-owned and operated«Japanese» restaurant basically on the north-end of the El Camino Korea-town strip. Has the big«Grand Opening» sign out front now. I only tried one dish, my sons wanted curry tonight, I ordered 3(pork) katsu curry’s to-go, but was taken a-back by the price, «$ 58». $ 58? The most expensive curry I’ve ever had. The pork katsu was large, very flavorful and tender, not fatty nor dry, the curry sauce itself was good kinda mild in terms of spiciness, and came with a small, fresh salad with the Gombei-like, tasty salad dressing. Food was good. Waitresses were friendly. Based just on what I had prices are(too) high. This location used to be Seto(one of the 2 Setos then), and then Shiki Sushi, and recently now Yume Sushi. The interior is the same as when it was Seto, which is actually a nice, authentic Japanese restaurant layout with the sushi bar at the back facing the center of the room, nice tatami rooms on both sides. By the way, the business card reads«Yume-Ji».

Two stars for the service and four stars for the food. I wanted to go here because it said grand opening and since I occasionally go to Han Kook Market, everytime I pass by and always wanted to try it. Right when you go in, you get greeted by the sushi chef, who basically does so because the waitresses are in the back. So we get seated immediately because there’s really no one there. and the waitress asks you if you’d like anything to drink. Everything is very quick and prompt. but after you order. The waitresses seem to disappear. The only time they come out is to serve your food. The baked salmon roll was perfect, it was soooo good! a little bit pricey though. 13.95 is what I remember. and I got a deluxe bento which came with two sides. I chose tempera and gyoza. They gave a lot of gyoza, like 6, I liked that. It tasted really good, my friend got some katsu and egg with rice which smelled delicious, and she claimed it was as well. She wanted a spoon though because it was this huge rice bowl, but because the waitresses were in the back there was really no way to get them. and everytime they’d come out they do it swiftly and quickly go back in. I paid 34.00 just for the sushi roll and bento box… pretty expensive dinner if you ask me, but the food was worth it but not the service. not sure if i’d go there again. :/

In my opinion, the perfect chirashi would contain the following ingredients: *multiple slices of sake, hamachi, saba, hotate, maguro, unagi, amaebi, tamago, white tuna *ikura(salmon roe) *slices of sweeten braised shiitake mushroom *pickled radish or daikon *seaweed salad(optional) This restaurant’s chirashi had the following pros and cons, relative to my notion of the perfect chirashi: Pros: It came with udon. The slices of fish were pretty fresh. Had saba, maguro, hamachi, sake, tamago, red snapper, ikura Cons: No unagi, white tuna, amaebi, hotate, seaweed salad, pickled daikon or marinated mushrooms. Overall, the chirashi was mediocre. My friends did get bento boxes and they looked more sizable and pretty good. But I can’t vouch for how they tasted: P
