What a different experience I had at Bosco’s this last Sunday. We are regulars on Sunday’s because of Megan. She is entertaining, funny and makes one hell of a drink. To our dismay she hasn’t been there the last couple Sunday’s, note to owners bring her back the young girl you replaced her with has no clue what she is doing.

Freshest Brews in town if you want the coldest frothy it’s nice of beer come on over to this place right this second but make sure you got someone to take you home because you’re going to get a DUI driving home when a cop pulls you over cuz you ate really good food and drink a lot of beer at this place I will always be a fan and I will continue to drink here too long as I drink

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for dinner on a Saturday night. The food was good. I had the salmon. Misty, the bartender, was nice and gave us good service. After her shift was over, another lady took over, and this is why I am giving the place 3 stars. She gave us terrible service, did not check on us, she disappeared for about 10 minutes at a time, it was terrible. Other people around us were even complaining. The sad part was, the bar wasn’t even busy. I would hate to see that bar busy on her shift. We’ll be back because it’s a cool spot, but only during Misty’s shift.

What an odd place. Being inside Bosco’s was sort of like being in your weird uncle’s basement. You know; the one who seems super nice and mellow, but he might be on a «special list» from that incident years ago, where he exposed himself in public? Yea, that guy. The interior is dark, dark, dark. On the side wall there’s a life-sized, tacky photographic mural of some locals(owners?) dressed up in cowboy and saloon garb. Avert your eyes if you can.(The very idea someone would dedicate an entire wall to this is distracting) A stuffed, black labrador retriever sits on the back bar. His name is Bosco. If you ask for a «Bosco’s brew», they will pull his back leg and the beer(a blonde ale) will pour from his nether regions. Did I mention this stuffed dog was the remains of the former mayor of this town?(a write-in candidate of course). I wish I had just invented all these facts, but I didn’t. A piano keyboard sticks out of one wall, covered under plexiglass; and the small, corner stage looks like it’s from the 1850s, complete with purple curtain and giant tassles. On our visit here, the small crew that was setting up instruments for a night gig looked like dropouts from an Aerosmith cover band(I counted at least two mullets). In short — Bosco’s had character to spare. Though it’s a twisted character perhaps only a local or regular could really love. Based on the review so far, you might think I hated the place, but Bosco’s had it’s charms. The service was very friendly and the burger and fries I ordered were pretty good, despite being under-cooked to my request. The beer wasn’t bad either, including the aforementioned Bosco’s Brew. I also sampled their double IPA, which tasted more like a mellow, British bitter. Their triple IPA was extremely dark and tasted like a hoppy porter. Not the best local beer I’ve had, though the strange flavors did match the strange surroundings(Note: All beer was made by ‘Das Brew’ in Fremont.) Bosco’s made for an interesting stop after a long hike nearby, but there was something about the place that put me ill-at-ease. Perhaps I should try again someday. Or maybe I’ll just go visit my weird uncle.

I really wish they would do something about this once great place. What a hole! Crap food and really bad service. Don’t waste your time. Also, REVIEWSFROM10YEARSAGODONOTCOUNT! Be sure you read carefully. Some reviews have nothing to do with the food or service. I’ve been to this place over the years and they changed hands in the mid 2000’s. Big change not for the good!

We stopped by on a whim, after a hike in Hayward, because this saloon used to have a statute of the dog who used to be the mayor of the town. The statute was no longer there, but its stuffed animal was dispensing beer there… I had a taste of the dispensed beer — which was Das Brew’s blonde ale. Not too bad. But we tried a pint of Das Brew’s double IPA and triple IPA. Both were quite fruity — different from what we expected. Triple IPA was dark and had a hint of porter taste. We have never tried Das Brew before(which is a local brew, in Fremont), but ended up liking it. It was pretty quiet on a late Sunday afternoon there, except for the football game being played.

We enjoy eating here about once a year. Usually we have a good experience, but once we had a new waiter and our enjoyment was impacted by slow service. The place has character, a great bar and a stroll around the little town on Sunol is a must!

Didn’t even get a chance to try the food; their execution was just that bad. My boyfriend and I wanted to share two appetizers and but they never showed up. The waitress kept saying that they will be out in a minute, and that was after our friends got their food 10 minutes ago. We waited another 20 minutes and by then our friends had finished their food. It was just ridiculous and we ended up canceling our orders. It was super annoying especially since we were starving. Whatever, never again. Btw, their food don’t look that good either, so maybe I’m not thaaaaat mad.

Damn good dinner with great service! The menu looked a bit pricey for a place that looks like a dive bar but the steak was great!

Have always been a fan of this restaurant and have watched it go through several changes in management. Was there a couple of weeks ago, and the food was good, the service attentive. Still a hangout for bikers of all sorts. It;s actually the only place in town. I like the décor, although it tends to be a bit dated. A good place to stop if you are thinking about visiting the wineries on Palomares Road.

Just average. There were only 2 couples so the 1 server, that looked like he really should have been in the bar, was very attentive and was very helpful. The food was only ok and the menu fairly simple. The parking lot was full but no idea where all the people were unless they were overflow from the wedding at the park. Too bad, this place used to have such great food.

Very interesting place. The bar is old and the décor was designed to look like an old bar. Did you know that the owner was ASIAN??? Mind blowing. I came there for an event so I didn’t really eat their food or order their drinks.

Used to be a Hell’s Angels hangout. Still popular with bikers(and bicyclists) on the weekend. Willie Nelson hung out here! They have the pictures on the wall to prove it. There is a small stage, with live bands on Saturday nights. Niles Canyon is a time portal to the picket fence small town of Sunol. When I stepped out of my truck I felt like I was in a Twilight Zone episode. The décor includes a prominent portrait of John Wayne, a display of local ranch brands, and a life-size recreation of Bosco himself on the bar!

This review is strictly for the service we received… or didn’t receive. I love Sunol and wanted to try a place to eat there. We walk into the restaurant and it is dead. We are seated and ask for wine glasses to use with the bottle of wine we brought. The waiter left… and didn’t return. Not once. We sat at our table between ten and fifteen minutes while the waiter passed back and forth between the kitchen. We were directly parallel from the kitchen, so there was no way he could have forgotten about us. Finally, we decided to leave. Nowhere else was open for dinner, so we had to drive all the way to Pleasanton to eat. Also, the menu online is different from what is in the restaurant. Disappointed, to say the least.

We walked into Bosco’s with an hour and fifteen minutes before a play we were attending down the street was to start so we didn’t have much time. The tables were all full so we were sent to the bar. Now, this wouldn’t make everyone as happy as me. It’s not what I planned, but so what, it was a treasure. The bartender/waitress was a doll and she made everything happen, the Seafood Linguini I ordered was beyond spectacular, the beer I let her choose for me was spectacular, the band was awesome, we had a ball and will be back for more!

The prices here are in line with a high end steak house, the interior is nice and the service was good. The food was a big disappointment, it is way over priced for what you receive. I won’t be going back

Went here about a year ago because i own a limousine business and my clients went to enjoy some drinks and karaōke. Back then the food was pretty good i had an appetizer with some clam chowder and a seafood pasta. I have to say the food wasnt bad. This year the same the clients wanted to go back so i decided to eat here again. And boy how a year makes a difference. It was not as good as the previous year. Tasted like everything was microwaved. Im not sure if they got a different chef or what but it was definitely not worth the money.

Very fun time in a comfortable environment. Friday’s are great with Kid Kangol Karaōke. Very good for groups who are unpretentious and just want to sing and have a good time. Decent bar food, friendly service and nice patrons.

They have karaōke on Friday nights, there is a server that comes by and takes your drink orders, and the song volume is low enough you can talk. What is not to like? The décor is a bit dated, but is rather not pay for constant updates with higher drink prices anyway. Plus they have a kick ads stuffed dog at the bar.

This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I’m not kidding *the absolute worst*. It’s sad because this place could be cool! The prices are outrageous & the quality of the food is horrible. I wouldn’t have eaten it if it was free… The vegetables were frozen vegetables — NOT fresh. Chicken breasts were frozen — NOT fresh. I’m not sure what was in the«mashed» potatoes — tasted like glue & the texture was like wall spackle. The balsamic on the table was so old it had turned bad. Be forewarned: A horrible dining experience. Complete waste of money.
