I want to thank Mr. Dean for making the dream of Roast Beef po-boys at my son’s rehearsal dinner a complete success!!! I had a request from my son some few months back to include our NOLa family roots in his wedding celebration. I had no idea what I was going to do. Not only was what request fulfilled it was easy and painless. The food was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you, again. Rebecca Warpinski Daphne, AL.

I still dream about their dark roux gumbo. If only I could get that shipped. It was perfectly cooked with and flavorful creamy savory broth. Perfect.

We had never been here before however excellent reviews by our friends caused us to drive to «The other side» of the Lake for this gem. The owner is super friendly explaining everything about the restaurant and its fresh food and menu. Signage(or lack of) for the restaurant surely is costing it business as it is located up on a hilltop. Completion of highway issues will allow them to take care of this matter she said. We ordered drinks and they provided some delicious little snacks to nibble on at the bar. As soon as the rest of our party arrived we grabbed a table. Vodoo salad, red beans and rice, jambalaya, and a couple sampler platters allowed us all to get our fill of fantastic food. They provided everyone with a small morsel of a pecan pie. This accomplished what they set out to do. Pecan pie slices for all for dessert. The only down side was the service. When orderering a round of drinks at the table it took quite a while for them to be depivered. To be fair the waitress did stop by and say the drink order was being prepared. 4 bottles of beer and 1 mixed drink isn’t that difficult. There are some non cajun entrees on the menu for those so inclined. WEWILLBEBACK…

Loved this place and we will definitely be back! Great atmosphere and great people! The owner was hands on with the guests and helped his servers and went around to every table to check on everyone! Great food! I had the Cajun Reuben with gator teeth and pickle chips, we had the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were the BEST ones we’ve ever had! Hubby had the Cajun burger with the spudsters. Also had the best Long Island ice tea! We are planning on going back soon! Check this place out! Service was great, food was great… just a great experience all around!

NOTFAMILYFRIENDLY! They actually allow smoking here, which I didn’t realize. I thought it was a restaurant. So wanted to love this place after reading good reviews. Service was fast for drinks(water and soda) but then slow after that. But I’d expected that from the reviews so not a big deal. Ordered apps and later our lunch and then this crusty old man moved from across the room to sit 3 feet from me and my infant son and lit up a cigarette! Really? That still happens? He did move back when I asked him not to smoke near my baby. But we cancelled our lunch and left.

The shrimp is always fresh tasting. They have great bread for shrimp po boys. Usually can always get a table without much of a wait. The customer service is quite good. Unlike most lake restaurants. The owners are usually present and you can tell they really care and take pride in their restaurant.

Had never been here before and were so very pleasantly surprised! Great colors and décor, super friendly waitress, fantastic food! The Shrimp Diavolo was so so good-it honestly felt like my grandma had made it at home. Service is slow, others were complaining around us. I think they just need some good training in helping each other-maybe one person to refill drinks at the tables? Nevertheless, we will be back for the yummy food!

This is the second time we have eaten there and the grilled cat fish is excellent. The owner is very personable and makes you feel like you’re his best friend. Quickly becoming my favorite place at the lake.

Hidden gem at the lake. My husband and I get bored of the same old stuff every weekend. Beautiful drive from HH worth every minute. I’ve spent several years in Née Orleans and this food is better than I remember. Service staff is great the owners are so welcoming and helpful. Recommend the Long Island ice tea’s made with«love». Sampler platter appetizer gives you a chance to experience a little of everything. The original Cajun dishes are to die for and my husband got the special Reuben and said it was the best he’s ever had. You won’t be disappointed.

This was amazing. The owner was here and told us about his trips to the Gulf every month or so. The shrimp was huge and amazing. The GUMBO was the favorite of the table!!! We will come again!!!

My mom, sister and I ate here for lunch and the food was so good! We split the shrimp platter and a catfish diner and finished with a slice of the fried pecan pie. The owner was also very friendly and spent some time with us talking about how he drives to New Orleans on a regular basis to buy fresh Gulf shrimp and that he gets his catfish from MS. The restaurant was clean and has a beautiful overlook of the lake. We also sampled the red beans and rice, gumbo, and jambalaya — all were good. You could tell they were made with high quality ingredients and that they spent some time on the roux — which if you’ve ever had those dishes in the Deep South you know it’s the secret to a rich and flavorful gumbo or a flat, stew-like gumbo. The red beans and rich were the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but we felt very welcome as soon as we walked in. We ordered Sea Hawgs for an appetizer and it was yummy. For being known as a shrimp house, the appetizer tasted frozen but it was still good. My hubby and I both had and enjoyed a voodoo salad. It came with crusty, buttery, yummy bread. I had the chicken and pasta diablo which haf a nice kick and some tasty sauce but the chicken was obviously previously frozen and it was tough and dry. My hubby had the fried catfish with«gator teeth» and enjoyed his entrée. The waitress was awesome and the owner was friendly and came to the table about 5 times to BS and I felt he needed to back off a little. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal and experience.

This Trip I had the shrimp etoufee. Again excellent. flavor and plentiful portion. I have never had rhubarb pie before, so I decided to give it a try. Wonderful. Jessica the server, did a great job and was very attentive without being intrusive. Once again the owner was present and spent time at all the tables. Love the homey atmosphere.

Service was slow but considering in there were only 3 people working the dining room I understand. Our food was excellent though. Huge Shrimp! We will go back.

This place is awesome! If you like New Orleans style shrimp dishes, this place is for you. Many items are imported from the Gulf and are the«real thing»; very authentic.
