This is a great little neighborhood restaurant. The staff is super friendly, and if you go there with any regularity, they will remember you and your preferences. The food is typically tasty… close to perfect about 95% of the time. Occasionally the food might be a little salty or overcooked, but this is not a factory serving up pre-packaged food, so it is to be expected upon occasion. I have gone here for years and will continue for years to come.

Delicious plantation and the empanada were done just right. Shredded beef was the best I have had. To finish it off, the flan was done just right. Service by Hugo and Adiana was a delight.

Small little gem. The food here is good for a little hole in the wall. We have had almost everything and it isn’t bad at all especially for the price. If you live in the area and you want some cubin food you gotta try this place.

I moved to Florida 3 years ago. I was so excited for Cuban food but was always left disappointed. On whim, I ordered a Cubano and pork chunks from here. It was amazing. I’ve tried the flan and the oxtails. Everything is great. One of my favorite restaurants in The area.

The ONLY place I will go for Cuban food. Lucky for me, it is a 5 min drive from my house. The staff is always friendly, the food is always magnificent. Everything I have ever gotten has been amazing. The prices are good too. DOYOURSELF A FAVOR and come eat here. Your tastebuds will be happy you did.

The waiter takes our order. Half an hour later when the rest of the restaurant that came in after you gets their food and you asks about yours, the waiter comes back to take your order for the second time. How do you forget someone’s entire order and not realize it? Food was mediocre. The vaca frita comes out as one piece and lacks flavor. Do not come here if you are hungry… Your food may never come.

The food is good, very homely and pretty decent size portions for a great price. The black beans are so tasty and everything taste freshly made. Slightly annoyed at the fact that your order has to be $ 10 or more if you want to pay with a card and even more annoyed at the fact the person taking your order doesn’t tell you that on the phone when ordering for pick up. If you order a lunch meal, you will be under $ 10. Then, she charged $ 2 dollars for a can of ginger ale so I can pay over $ 10. Waste of money. I really liked the food but the don’t care for the service at all.

OMG. I am stolen! This is such a warm atmosphere. It has amazing service. The atmosphere is personal and taylored local fare, the food is quite exquisite and is a well thought out course selection. My fare: The shrimp cocktail not only fresh, it was cooked perfectly and was tasty as ever. The cabernet was smooth and complementary, and the Steak and Shrimp Palermo went excellent with my wine choice. ;-). I fully recommend this ‘more than affordable, very tasty, and real deal’ resturant. Youre welcome

I was craving Cuban food and decided to give this place a try. I’m so glad I did. The fresh squeezed lemonade is awesome! The starter bread was so light and it melted in your mouth! For the main dish I had vaca frita with rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. It was perfection! Fresh, and well seasoned. It didn’t taste heavy and greasy like other places I’ve been too. I will definitely come back.

This is my first Cuban restaurant and even tho I can’t compare it against any others, the food was excellent. A plate of warmed buttered bread is brought to enjoy while you look over the menu. I felt obligated to try a Cuban sandwich since that is what seems to be notorious in South Florida. I’m not usually a fan of ham or pork but I still wanted to try something that would be out of my comfort zone. I finished off with an order of fried sweet plantains. The sandwich was very good. The pressed warmed bread was perfectly toasted. The pork melted in my mouth and had an excellent flavor. The mustard, cheese, and pickles all combined into a fantastic combination with the meats. I’m happy I stuck with my decision to try the sandwich as opposed to being scared off by a couple ingredients I don’t usually like. The plantains were very good. A combination of crispy and chewy on the outside with the insides at an almost liquid consistency. They were very good. The portion was bigger than I could handle eating by myself. The wait staff was very friendly. There weren’t a lot of other customers when I arrived, we appeared to be outnumbered by the staff. I was welcomed and talked to by every person.

I’ve dinner here multiple times and I don’t know why I haven’t wrote a review before. Little mom & pop Cuban restaurant located in Sunrise. You can either dine in or take out. They have a nice variety of Cuban dishes on their menu. They serve beer and wine. They offer nice portions, I can never finish my meal. They always bring fresh Cuban bread with butter to the table. I can literally eat a whole basket of bread and be fine with that. And don’t worry, you can ask for more & it’s free. Whether we are dining in or dining out, we always start an appetizer — the plantain chips, with garlic on the side. Be aware — the garlic is strong & you’ll have garlic breath the rest of the day. I usually order the pork tamale dinner with white rice, red beans and sweet plantains. The pork on the tamale is so moist, you can taste the fresh lime and mojo. I really LOVE this dish. They offer the pork tamale as an appetizer — I’d recommend ordering it if you don’t want that as your meal. Or I order the palomilla steak with white rice, red beans and sweet plantains. This meal is always great. The steak is always huge, taking up your whole plate. You really can’t go wrong with any dish. I also want to mention that I’ve had their Cuban sandwich, which is also tasty. You can’t go wrong with this place. The food is always fresh and the service is alway good.

I have been coming here for over 15 years. It has had a change in owners a couple of times but their charm, friendly staff and delicious food remain the same. I have tried everything from the pollo a la plancha, the carne asada, lomo, filet de pescado, ropa vieja, y rabo incidido. All always cooked well and always juicy and tender. Never over seasoned just perfect. The rice is well seasoned, the black beans are cooked well. And their tres leches and flan is so good. This place is family run and very reliable. Must try! Only lunch specials though. DINNERIS over prices.

Pleasant surprise. What I love about cuban restaurants in Broward is the Miami element is not present. I happen to stumble across this place and the positive reviews sealed the deal. I had grilled chicken, white rice, plantains and my favorite… red beans. Everything was delicious! The bread was amazingly soft and fresh! No butter needed. The service was very friendly and attentive. Very quiet atmosphere, no yelling or screaming and it was nice NOT hearing a «que bola» throughout my lunch. I will definitely return and absolutely recommend for a delicious affordable lunch. I had lunch and a coffee for under 10 $

I was running on empty, in need of food, feeling hollow, faint from hunger; starving, starved, famished; able to eat a horse. You get it. I was Hung-RAY! After 5 hours in the scorching sun at an event(where there was burgers and beer, but I decided not to eat any! Why? Not sure really… but it lead me here, so it’s all good!) I was ready for a meal. Pulled out the trusty Unilocal app and found Don Carlin. I’ve been in the mood for food from my motherland for a while now — and we jetted over. The place was empty when we arrived — but I noticed the employees taking their lunch breaks — eating the food they served here. That’s gotta be a good sign, no? We took a seat in a cozy table in the corner and ordered a Jupiña! If you’ve never had pineapple soda — what have you been doing all your life. Get one. I promise, you’ll like it! They give you a basket of bread — lightly buttered — to open up your appetite. Not that I needed to do so. But I really liked it wasn’t overly greasy/buttery like other Cuban spots. Started with croquetas — they are .75 each and smaller than the ones I was used to in Miami but they were great! They came with a side of platano maduro. Really? NEVER had them served this way but I’m not complaining! The croquetas were suppper crispy outside and the inside was ooey-gooey! They were great! Then I got Vaca Frita and the wife got Tamal(with pork on top) and a side of moro. My Vaca Frita was good — not great… but the pork on her Tamal was INSANE. It was moist, perfectly marinated in garlic and onions and just perfect! The tamal itself was good too — but the pork was the star. The moro was good but no pork belly chunks in it? This isn’t the congri I am used to at a Cuban restaurant but it was still good. The maduros were amazing — crispyish on some parts and gooey on others. Super sweet and delicious. I know this highly depends on the plantain you are frying up, but on this day… they nailed it! As we were finishing up it started getting busy. A couple of families and a couple folks to watch the World Cup started to fill up the restaurant. Will certainly be back again for my Cuban fix soon!
