This is a nice little quiet Italian place that my family and I went for mothers day. When I checked in on Unilocal they had a coupon for a free glass of wine but when I showed them they told me they stopped using Unilocal so I didnt get my wine. Other than that the service was good and the food was excellent. I had lobster stuffed ravioli in a shrimp red sauce which was to die for. All of my family enjoyed their meals and we all left satisfied.

ZEROSTARS should be given ! The best part of the experience was leaving ! We were a party of two seated in the main dining area. There were only three other tables seated near us. Waiters were milling around and finally someone brought us a basket of TWO tiny slices of bread. I ordered club soda to drink. When it arrived, it smelled like chlorine bleach. Waiter finally came back and I asked for plain tap water. Waiter was asked a very simple question about an item on the menu. I asked«What is ricota salada»? His answer: «I dunno, your guess is as good as mine». I asked him to find out and he disappeared to never return again. We decided to just walk out. At the door I told the front staff that we were leaving. A gentleman(I’m being kind here) said, «Hope you enjoyed dinner» I told him we were never served and why we were leaving. He rudely responded«I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m the owner and have served over three thousand happy customers». I said«That’s great for you but I doubt that very much». He said a few not so nice things as we left the restaurant. He continued to grumble and curse at us as we walked to the car. I don’t care if you paid me to eat here I would never come back. Miserable service and wretched owner. BEWARE !

We have eaten here twice since it opened. The first time we went, we loved it so much we went back with friends and everyone loved everything they ate. The portions are family style and are very big, even for family style. The décor inside is very cute, painted to look like the streets in Italy. There are different dining rooms, a bar area and a dessert case that pretty much makes ordering dessert irresistible. We ordered the braciole the first time we were there, and it was so good, we had a hard time not ordering a second time. The pasta was fresh, everything was tasty, and the desserts were delicious. I can’t wait to go back again!

This is a 3.5 stars for me although it could be an easy 4+. I really need to go back. This is one of those places you find in an unassuming strip mall. It looks very small but it’s a different world inside. It is really spacious with different seating areas. It is all made to look like you are on a cobble stoned street in Italy somewhere. String lights and Epcot-like décor all around you. It’s actually very quaint. You do NOT feel like you are in Sunrise so kudos to that! There are even some mock storefronts to go with your faux outside dining décor. The owner mentioned they were copies of actual businesses owned by his family in Italy. They also have 2 rooms that can be rented out for private parties– a small one with seating for about a dozen and the other one much larger. We walked right in on a weeknight and sat right away. Piping hot bread was served right away. Mmm mmm mmm good start. I love me some homemade HOT bread. This is what we tried: — Fritto all Italiana–(A combination of rice ball, potato croquette, fried mozzarella, polenta and marinara sauce.) This started out good but then quickly became too much breading for me and just too much fried stuff all in one place. The breading was good but it was kind of it’s own dish in that it made all of those different things taste the same. My fault for ordering this which is completely out of character for me. Lesson learned. — Paglia e fieno all boscaiola–(green and white fettuccine with mushrooms, peas, pancetta and light cream.) This was excellent! I would have this over and over again! — Il piatto del grande chef Al–(braciola, meatballs, short ribs and sausage in red sauce.) Similar to the fritto above except in this case it was the REDSAUCE. I know it’s the name of the restaurant and a family recipe but the meatballs, short ribs and sausage all tasted the same because it was drenched in REDSAUCE. Did it taste good? yes but a little red sauce goes a long way here. I really wanted to taste the different items not just the sauce. Warning: this plate is GIANT. I am not exaggerating. Take a look at the photos I added! — Chocolate mint homemade gelato– excellent. They have a gelato stand like you would at an ice cream store. You can go taste test all the flavors and choose the one you like best to be served to you. This was fun! There are endless choices in the menu. I feel like I just made bad choices that night. I really want to go back and try more of their pasta dishes. Every single thing is homemade and just like the pasta I did have, I am sure the rest will be just as good. The kitchen has a window and you can see the pasta being made if you are there when they are working on it. I took a look at the lunch menu and they also offer gluten free pastas which I thought was wonderful. Service was great and consistent all night. They were eager and happy to serve us. I spoke to the chef/owner briefly. He is extremely passionate about his restaurant. He is the real deal. He also said they were opening a live music + pizza place right next door. Not sure if that opened already because I was there several months ago. All in all this place is very promising. There is nothing like it in Sunrise. Go give it a try. I will certainly be back again. I don’t think once was enough to truly judge all it has to offer.

Been frequenting this authentic feeling Italian restaurant since they opened. They are striving to keep their menus and offers up to date. The food is consistently delicious. Early Bird menu is very reasonably priced and offers a wide selection of 3 course dinners. Staff is gracious. Owner is outgoing and trying to get the word out. Quite upscale for Sunrise. Don’t let the shopping center deter you. Try it — you’ll like it!

I went here to eat on Thanksgiving. We didn’t eat the traditional Thanksgiving turkey and shit, though. Instead, we had their Italian food. Which was actually very good. I had the eggplant parmigiana with a side of pasta. The sauce is great here, and the meatballs are amazing and very tasty. It is very over-priced, though, and everything is a la carte. So be prepared to get a pay-day advance after you come here.

Not quite sure why some havent had such a good seating, but tonight my family and I came here tonight and the food was delish! I would give it 5 stars but I gave it 4 because our server sucked. He was telling us about the specials and during that his eyes were all over. He also was as slow as can be. On a good note though, the food was great! Reminded me of how my family makes food, very southern Italy. Besides the food, the atmosphere reminded me of Italy, kind of cheesy but very cute. On one of thesides is aguy making fresh pasta. Bread, pastries, pasta… Everything was made fresh. Thats what I call good food! For the topping on the cake, the owner came to talk to us and talked about his family making it very warm feeling. I will so come back!

I was referred to this restaurant by a friend. It goes without saying that I am no longer friends with this«person». The Gnocci was bland with no flavor. I at least thought desert would save the meal, but sadly I was again disappointed. I brought this up to management(which I never do). Although they were extremely friendly, I can still taste the cardboard in my mouth. This would be a one star had it not been for service.

Read the review in the paper and thought I’d give this place a try. Unfortunately for me, I came across the review in the paper in the first place. I tend to agree with the reviewer who said the meal came across tasting like something you could get in the frozen food section. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone in search of a real italian feast. Just my two cents.

I kind of wish my friends did not pick this place to get dinner the other night. The portions are family style so I was kind of excited to try what I thought was authentic Italian food. I was wrong ! Started out with the fresh mozzarella kind of tasted like the one at costco that you buy in the plastic container. Also tried the Cesar salad which the dressing tasted like it was from Wishbone like they opened a plastic bottle and poured it in top. At that point I should have just opted to not eat anymore but I was starved. The chicken Parmesan tasted like the chicken was Tyson frozen thrown in a fryer and cooked till it tasted kind of like rubber coated with cheese, and ragu tomato sauce. The only thing good was the atmosphere, and the service. The problem is I go to a restaurant to eat so if the food isn’t good then I will not return, and definitely not recommend this place. * I recommend you keep driving pass this place ! That is my only recommendation!

I was skeptical about trying an Italian restaurant in Sunrise since the majority of them range from awful to mediocre in a sparse environment BUT was pleasantly surprised by this place since the décor reminded me of old school Italian restaurants that you don’t find anymore. Food was good to very good and even single portions were huge. Had gnocchi with short ribs which was gigantic for one, three chunky people would have been full on one portion. Not sure if the short ribs were of top quality but was good nonetheless. The gnocchi was a little on the heavier side but again good. My wife and I also shared chicken parmagiana which also was good although surprisingly given the style of the restaurant– a portion that one person could finish. We also had burnt cauliflower which was great. We followed with their homemade zeppolis which needs to be reworked or eliminated and tartufo which was very good. This is a great family style restaurant and a very good value. Given their bizarre choice of location I hope they can survive long term. Including 4 glasses of wine, tax and tip the price was surprisingly reasonable at about $ 100. Nice touch that the owner came out and introduced himself talking and also asking our opinion of the food.

Nice to have this caliber of food, service, and atmosphere out west. I usually have go to the east side of town to find this. The staff is outstanding, everyone looks after you to ensure a great dinning experience. Save room for some tiramisu and gelato!

I don’t know where these 4 other reviewers ate as I know they didn’t eat at Italian red sauce. The place was tacky and the décor was cheap and place was noisy. In a shopping center that I thought I was getting mugged in if I exited my car . The food was on the level of olive garden with the prices of casa d Angelo Hated the place and you will too.

As a transplanted New Yorker I find it very hard to find good authentic Italian food in Florida. Well I do not have to look anymore! Italian Red Sauce is by far the best Italian restaurant out there right now! My husband & I ordered the Fresh Mozzarella with Roasted peppers — Divine! I ordered the white & green pasta with pancetta & peas — Heavenly! My husband ordered the short ribs with polenta — Wow! When you can taste how fresh the pasta is you know you have a winner! We will be back again & again & again!

Food was yummy! Most places just buy frozen foods and then microwave it so to find a restauraunt that serves home made pastas, fresh ricotta and make their own meatballs from 4 different kinds of meat really says something. Our server, Kevin, was a sweetheart and recommended his favorite dish which quickly because our favorite to! The fettuccini with mushrooms, peas and pancetta in a cream sauce! The décor was cute. It looked like a commercialized Italian market complete with faux streetlights and brick facades. It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal. We will definitely be back

My wife and I ate here last night and it was fantastic. Great homemade food. Had the meatballs, Insalada Organica salad and Fettuccine alla Bolognese all excellent. The service was top notch from the time we entered and were warmly welcomed to the warm goodbye when we left. The place is a little hard to find tucked way back in the corner of the plaza but if you find it you will not be disappointed. This will be our new favorite Italian place. Also the look and feel of this place is very cool.

In search of authentic Italian cuisine? It starts with fresh ingredients, good CLEAN sauces, homemade(not out-of-the-box) pasta that is cooked to perfection. Look no further, Italian Red Sauce is the read deal. The meatballs are outstanding. Our table also ordered grouper, shrimp, veal, and linguini in octopus ink, simply divine. For dessert try their terrific assortment of gellato(yes as good as in Italy!). Friends, I look to Unilocal for good solid advice on dining options, I urge you to try Italian Red Sauce, you will not be dissatisfied.
