Whole Foods supplements section ain’t got nothing on Simply Natural. Sharing a plaza with a phở shop, Chinese bbq, Ci’s Ci’s Pizza, coin laundry, and Bravo supermarket…(which is a knock-off version of Sedano’s) you’d probably miss it had it not been right on the corner. I walked in with bated breath… I wanted to like this place, and I really wanted it to be a mom and pop shop. At first glance, all I saw were bottles… supplements galore. Aroma therapy, incense, relaxation cd’s and a little fountain of water sit in the corner. Different kinds of tisanes/teas(ginger root, nettle, bark, flowers, etc.) and yerba maté. Full line of supplements, vegan products, enzymes, and natural medicines from all over the world were offered. My favorite part of the store, was the owner. Once we started having a conversation, she proved knowledgeable of her products. Her name is Shahrooz, and hails from Iraq. Her and her husband own both the Simply Natural and Simply Natural Café located next door. They have seminars by a holistic practitioner on given Saturdays and Sundays on live & raw foods, cooking classes, organic living, and much more. What’s great is that she and her husband(Richard) host a radio talk show on AM1230 called Pearls of Health every Friday from 7pm-9pm. Another mom & pop shop win :)
