VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit

Avoid using Vitas at all costs. Especially if you actually would like your loved one to be taken care of in any sort of timely manner. We waited over 6 hours to be told (at 11pm) that a nurse would not be coming to the hospital to take care of my grandmother as we were promised at 4pm. There is no internal communication as I was being called multiple times by different people asking for the same information. They sent the nurse to the wrong address and called the wrong phone number after the first handful of phone calls I placed and gave them the correct address and phone number.
I am absolutely livid they made the experience of my grandmothers passing a living nightmare for myself and my father. All he wanted was for his mother to pass comfortably and in their inadequacy they created a situation where we were unable to ease my grandmas pain.
I am looking into further actions to rectify this experience.
