Amazing. Strawberry lemonade was to die for. Tastes just like strawberry. Carne aztada was so good. Very, very well cooked. Go here.

We’re here for a long weekend of R&R at Sunriver and decided not to do a lot of cooking, but to eat dinners out. I’ve been hungry for Mexican food so was delighted when I saw that Hola had a restaurant here — we’d really enjoyed our meal at Hola in Redmond last year. The first indication that this might not be the best decision came when we arrived at Hola at 5:30 without reservations. They acted like our presence was a huge imposition, Though at least one fourth of the tables were empty, we were left standing while two other groups of four(same as us) who arrived after we did, were seated. I was ready to walk when after much discussion by some of the servers, we were finally seated — without any feel of welcome whatsoever. We had our two youngest grandchildren with us who are both gluten intolerant — which we told them as soon as we were seated. They brought chips and salsa — a red and green. For me –these items were probably the only redeeming parts of the whole experience. The green might have been chimichurri sauce — I just know it was delicious. The kids wanted Nachos off the kids’ menu, which they’d had at the Bend Hola, but the waitress told us the chips were fried in the same vat as all the gluten products… and they couldn’t do anything separate(the Bend restaurant had cooked chips separately for them.) And — in fact the chips they’d brought us 15 minutes earlier were also off limits to the kids. NOW they tell us! So the kids decided on a chicken and cheese burrito, which we asked to be made with a corn tortilla instead of flour. AGAIN — no can do! The best they could accommodate would be a plate with chicken, rice and beans and corn tortillas served on the side — so they could«make their own.» We’re talking about a four year old and his eight year old sister. I fail to grasp how a four year old could be expected to do something the chef couldn’t do. What restaurant these days does not accommodate Gluten Free needs??? The disappointment continued when I ordered the Baja Burrito with shredded beef and added sour cream and guacamole for an extra $ 2.00($ 19 for burrito!) There was no more than one tablespoon each of sour cream and guacamole. Ironically, my husband ordered the chicken Baja Burrito, without the extras, and got a separate bowl of at least 1⁄3 cup sour cream! The red sauce on the burrito was absolutely awful — no taste at all — seemed like watered down canned tomato sauce without any spices — and the beef was absolutely drowning in the same sauce. The rice was flavorless — just white rice with a few peas and kernels of corn added. The beans were surely canned refried beans that likely had been watered down also. I guess all the restaurants in Sunriver are expensive compared to the same businesses just 30 miles away in Bend. I think next time I will either bring and cook my own meals or plan on driving up the road for better prices and better quality. We will definitely NOT be back to this Hola!

Hey everyone trying to eat at The Hola! Sunriver location they are CLOSED for the winter season. Not sure where the mishap accrued but they set up a forwarding phone number to their restaurant and I’ve now been receiving about 40+ phone calls a day to my personal cell phone with people trying to make reservations. The number you read on the Google link isn’t my cell phone number but it connects to my phone when the links are used. Please let it be known that they are CLOSED, again for the winter season. I’ve spoken with a manager at a different Hola! Location in Bend who was very helpful and is trying to work on this problem but it still isn’t fixed and my phone is blowing up all day. Soooooo please let it be known they are closed and please stop trying to call them. Thank you!

First warning should have been the lack of prices on the menu. We ordered two entrees and a side of guacamole to go, and sent my daughter off with $ 40 cash thinking this would be more than plenty. The bill came to $ 50! I realize this is Sunriver, but come on! So, feeling gouged to begin with, we opened our order which got mixed reviews. The guac serving was generous, but very heavy on the chopped onion. The chile relleno was delicious, but the hubbie’s chicken enchilada in green sauce disappointed. No cheese and just dry shredded white meat inside.(The disappointment was compounded by the fact that hubbie’s first choice — the much vaunted family recipe for Mole Poblano was«not available at this location» — I mean, really?) He then pronounced his dinner«the worst enchilada I’ve ever had.» So, there you have it. We won’t be back. Hasta la vista, Hola.

Jenny took very good care of us. Incredible service with a smile and great suggestions. If she’s still around, we will be asking for her next year on our yearly visit. Food was good. I loved the green sauce. We were a bit disappointed that the prices had gone up and the menu had condensed, but what’s on the menu still has some decent choices.

Delicious food & appetizers and has a wonderful view of the water! For an appetizer I had the raw tuna & it was sweet juicy & tasty. For the meals I recommend the Peruvian side of the menu or the cilantro stew. A great place for a good price.

The food was decent, but priced high. $ 20, for two tamales, black beans and white rice.

Great service, food, flavor and setting. It made us think(after 2x dining in Bend and 2x dining in Sunriver) with the great meals we have had, that some of these negative reviews about«no flavor» were from competitors to make Hola lose credibility! We love this place and will come back, so will our friends and family we have brought here! Our pictures are of actual Hola meals!

I am addicted to these margaritas!!! I’ve tried several different kinda so far, and they have ALL been tasty and fresh! They don’t skip on the alcohol either. You can get your margarita by the glass(which they give you the mixer too so you have extra when you finish) or you can buy them by the pitcher! I’m not a huge fan of margaritas at all since most of the ones I’ve had have that nasty fake sour mix. These are homemade and incredible!!! Definitely stop in! The prices aren’t bad for a resort, the margaritas are definitely worth every penny. The food is just OK, but I haven’t tried their Peruvian side menu so maybe that’s yummier. The view is also gorgeous it’s RIGHT on the river by the marina so while you drink&eat, you watch people take off into the river!

We came here with a group of family members at the tail end of a trip to Sunriver. We scoped the place out after a float down the Deschutes. It’s right on the river — definitely one of the good things about it. The view is really pretty and the porch is a great spot to look out over the river. The other high point was the service, which was friendly and efficient, even for a larger party. That being said… I wouldn’t come back. Why not? — the drinks were not good. House margaritas tasted terrible. I couldn’t even drink mine. Too much(cheap?) alcohol, not good mix. They said it was house made but it didn’t taste like it. — Chips and salsa weren’t good. Not flavorful. — Food was also not good. The enchiladas were a tortilla, a handful of bagged shredded cheese and a can of tomato sauce. Yuck. I could have made better at home with canned sauce. The rice was ok but the beans were super bland. — Won’t split checks. It was a cluster to figure this out. I’m a foodie who has been out to MANY restaurants with my international supper club, and they don’t have problems splitting them almost ever(if they do, we don’t patronize the place).

Pretty pricey, especially for items such as ceviche(not gonna lie there), but that’s just getting the bad news out of the way. The good news is that the drinks and drink specials, while not cheap, are out of this world in terms of quality; even better news comes regarding the service. If you’re ever in Bend or Sunriver, ask for«Jenni» as your server — she was extremely attentive and constantly checked to make sure that everyone was having an excellent evening.

Great food, and service. Just know green salsa is mild because the person who brought it spoke NO English.

First, I have to say we were delighted that Fernando, originally at the East Side, has returned to Hola! We have always enjoyed beyond excellent service from him and our dining experience at Sunriver proved to be no exception. He was attentive, funny and accommodating for our weird little birthday party for our 15 year old. I agree that the food is not as well prepared as the food at Hola Downtown or East Side(Old Mill is a lost cause) but owner Marcos can remedy that. The prices are also higher in Sunriver. The location is beautiful and peaceful; I would hate to see this location go under due to lack of proper training in the kitchen and prices that make one even more unenthusiastic about the food. I know that it must be hard to get good talent all the way down in Sunriver, but I have faith in Marcos. Loyalty is a terrible thing to waste.

Nice trap to get double tips. I heard about this trick long time ago and now here it is. Definitely, you shouldn’t expect a restaurant make good food if they are making money in this way.

This place was incredible, food was great, beautiful location. Extremely friendly wait staff. I needed to have a surprise bday party for my mom and had 20+ people showing up to surprise her and they accommodated every single need all the way down to a customized menu, pre-set apps and more, it couldn’t have been a better experience. Madeline the manager is awesome and extremely helpful, I absolutely recommend Hola for anything, beautiful people, beautiful place!

A girlfriend and I ate at the original Hola! In Bend last fall and it was over the top fabulous. I remembered it well and was looking forward to returning when I came back to the area. This time I was in Sunriver with my boyfriend and he didn’t want to drive to Bend. We read the reviews of the Sunriver location and knew that people either loved or hated it. We were both disappointed in the service and food. Service was slow even though there were only eight other tables seated. We had hoped to sit outside but heard the biting bugs were an issue. My boyfriend had iced tea and asked twice for limes… eventually lemons came and he settled on those. I had the Red Cactus margarita and it was as delicious as I remembered and unfortunately the highlight of my experience that evening. I do love how they mix the drinks in a large shaker and bring you the whole thing! I had the Peruvian chopped chicken dish with a few onions, potatoes, and one thin yam slice in a sauce that was separated.(My girlfriend had this dish last year and I knew how good it could be.) My dish was served with a small side plate of Peruvian white rice with a few corn and peas on the side. I tried one bite and it made me think of rubbery Minute Rice. The server asked if I liked it so I shared my thoughts. He shrugged like he gets that comment a lot or he doesn’t like it either and removed the dish. He did Not replace it with something more delicious to sample. * Get this, I wanted to provide the name of the dish I ordered, so I looked it up on their website, which was Seco de Pollo. The photo on the website looks absolutely nothing like what I was served; see photo. My BF had the Tamales de Puerco and he had nothing good to say about it. I tried a bite and I thought the tamale was soggy. We did enjoy our window table with the view of Sunriver, the fading sun and water fowl. I really hope the Sunriver location gets the menu and service figured out. I travel to Sunriver far more than Bend and it would be a shame to have to drive so much father for the outstanding Hola! food and service in the strip mall. Once you get inside the lively atmosphere, decorations and attentive staff transforms the original Bend location.

After first eating at their location in a strip mall in Bend I was not impressed. But after visiting this beautiful location in Sunriver right along the river I have completely changed my mind. The cocktails here are huge. HUGE! Plus, they have a lot of cocktail choices. The tequila tacos are awesome. Do not let your children order the nachos off the kids menu. They would be better off eating the complimentary chips and dip.

Stay away. This place is a giant tourist trap waiting to lure patrons in for an overpriced and underwhelming experience. Sunriver isn’t exactly replete with great dining options, so the allure of a place like Hola is understandable. We went for dinner on a busy Saturday night(Labor Day weekend) and couldn’t have been more disappointed. The chicken enchiladas rojas were served luke warm and the side of beans tasted like they were heated from a can. Certainly a far cry from Hola’s promise to use only the«freshest ingredients.» My wife had one of the Peruvian dishes and had a similar disgusted reaction. The icing on the cake, however, was that our bill at Hola cost as much or more than Andina in Portland(we ordered drinks and similar dishes at both restaurants). Needless to say, we won’t be going back to Hola.

Came across Hola while biking around Sunriver. Nice location at the Marina. Food is average and pricey for what you get. I had the shrimp enchilada. One enchilada for $ 12 with rice and beans. The highlight was the cilantro salsa that came with the chips. My wife had the chicken tacos and they were bland. If you want anything spiced up, you need to request it. Service was attentive. It was a beautiful day and the deck was closed. We were forced to eat inside with the numerous flies. Even our waitress was swatting them away. If you’re biking around Sunriver, skip Hola and head for the brewery in the Village.
