Was here last night. Worst bar in Sunriver in my opinion. Conference at the resort and the place was packed. They had band playing 80’s butt rock and they were way loud. Not near enough staff working. 10 minutes standing at the bar to get one weak ass jackncoke. Wont be back up in here

This is an updated version of the former Owl’s Nest(rest in peace), with more seating in the back area and large windows to view the plains. The prices of the drinks are normal, but the prices for the food are sky-high. $ 16 for a burger at a bar? Come on. Lots of TV’s on silent. Very good Sangria.

This place is good, but it is not the Owl’s Nest. The twisted pretzel is a must get, so is the nachos. My sister had a Caesar salad and my parents split a burger and it wasn’t anything worth what the price was. My mom and boyfriend had the four samplers of beer and that was their favorite thing about this place. The service is very slow, so don’t expect to be in and out of here fast. Definitely recommend this place if you like beer, because they have a lot of local brews. I don’t feel that you get what you pay for with the price. The price and service is why I gave this a 3 star.

What happened to the Owl’s Nest! The warm, rustic ambiance of Sunriver Resort has been replaced with a confused wanna be trendy city bar. This was a sad find after frequently this beautiful place for over twenty years. The menu at Twisted River was lacking. There wasn’t much that got our attention, so we stuck to a shared Flatbread, which was pretty good. For it being just the beginning of the holiday season, to find a bar out of Hot Buttered Rum was unacceptable. The prices were high for what was received and service was merely mediocre, not like we had found and became accustomed to in years past. Sadly this may change our future holiday traditions.

Significantly over priced for what you get. The new atmosphere does not resemble a lodge or anything Sunriver. More like a city bar. Switch back to owl’s nest!

I’ve been here a couple of times for drinks on the patio(great view) and this time for food. Iced tea, not offered a refill until requested and then got one– with no ice. We were not offered another glass of wine. The sandwich offerings are listed but doesn’t indicate if they come with anything. Fries? Salad? When I ordered the ruben I wasn’t told what they come with or given a choice. It must be a surprise. It arrived with fries on the side, nothing to dip them in nor was I offered anything. The meat and cheese appeared to be placed under a salamander and then put on the buttered bread and slide across the griddle for 5 seconds = ruben on buttered bread. This does not a ruben make. Chicken wings came out with skin a soft buttery yellow color, no crisp. Meat was cooked but the skin was less than pleasing which was pulled off. This is not what most people order wings to do. We were not offered dessert, simply brought the check. This review and others shows a poorly run kitchen and management team. Alcohol? The return on this is HUGE! I’m not saying push booze but offer another glass. This isn’t a review of someone who wasn’t pampered and fawned over, even a drive up asks if you would like ketchup, salt etc. Lots of polish needed here. Bend offers too many great restaurants to be operating this way.

OK. There seems to be two kinds of reviews here, location and view, which IS a 5*, and food, which is a 2*. My food was a 2*, or less. I had a Twisted Club sandwich, which tasted like it came straight out of a grocery deli. The meats were simple deli slices. Not locally or kitchen roasted meats. Cold. No remarkable flavor, it was simple. I will say my wife’s fish taco meal was huge(3 of them) and expensive(at $ 25). But it was good. The other reviewers are right. The food quality and value for money was way better when this was the Owl’s Nest.

I was with a group of 4 and we wanted to try out Twisted for dinner. We were extremely disappointed and miss the Owls Nest! I hate to write this, because we have always been huge fans of the resort. First off, I am giving Twisted two stars because the deck and view are both very nice. After we were seated, we ordered a round of drinks and fries to start, followed by two salads(seared tuna and chop), the cheesesteak sandwich and the beer bratwurst. Not only is this place completely overpriced, but the food was very mediocre. My dad couldn’t even eat the bratwurst, because it was so overcooked and the pretzel bun was dry and tasted stale. The amount of tuna on the tuna salad was the smallest thing I have ever seen and the chop salad was mostly lettuce. The fries were the best thing that we had. The service was fine, but I would only recommend coming to this place for one drink on the patio($$$). We will be sticking to the Sunriver Brewery. Same prices, but much better quality!

Very friendly, attractively decorated especially for someplace called a tavern. The waiters were very nice. A little pricey 12.00 for a side of fries-WHAT?! Drinks were good. My roasted vegetables salad, AMAZING! There are a lot of foodie options, so it should fit into most everyone’s food/dietary restrictions.

Good drinks. Had a few different mixed drinks the two times we’ve been there this vacation and the bartender has been great. Foods good, but pricey. Lots of tvs for those watching the game.

Liked it better as the Owls Nest. Trying to be too modern now. Food good. Service could be better. Waitress we had to always track down. Didn’t approach on her own.

We really enjoyed this new restaurant in Sunriver. We sat on the patio on our first visit & ordered drinks & apps. We got sangria(definitely recommend), margaritas, & a beer tasting. For apps, we got the nachos(HUGE), white cheddar, balsamic garlic bread, & brussel sprouts with bacon. My favorite was the bread & the white cheddar but everything was very good!!! We returned for the second time a few nights later for a late night snack. And by late night I mean like 9:30. As soon as we sat down they said it was last call for food & drinks. They close at 10 on week nights. We got the pretzel, chicken wings, & french fries along with sangria & margaritas. The pretzel was huge & came with a very tasty cheese dip(as well as 2 other dips). You can also order drinks & take them down on the grassy area behind the golf course. They have giant jenga, corn hole, lounging chairs, & fire pits. They also sell s’more kits that you can use at the fire pits in front of the lodge or by the pool. We will definitely be back next time we are in Sunriver!!!

We sat here for lunch. Beautiful views and attentive service. The roasted vegetable salad had cauliflower flower, broccoli, and carrots – very unique and tasty. Good portion size for a salad. My husband had the cheesesteak, and hitch he thought was a bit overpriced, but flavorful. Prices a little high, but to be expected at the resort.

The menu looked great and the place was obviously busy. We were seated at what our server apologetically noted was the last table in the house(for good reason). It took us about 10 – 15 minutes to get our glasses of water and for somebody to come by and take our drink order. We ordered a couple of whiskey cocktails and contentedly people-watched and checked out the sports shows playing on the various TV sets while we waited. And waited. And waited. Our water glasses slowly ran dry. Attempts to catch the eye and get the attention of the very occasional passing server(from across the neighboring tables, as we were crowded against a wall) were unsuccessful. Nobody came by the table to see how we were doing. And nobody brought us our drinks. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we left. I’m sure this place is great… provided the staff doesn’t forget you exist. I won’t be back.

Arrived yesterday for an annual summer conference with great friends and colleagues and gathered in the old Owl’s Nest, now Twisted River Tavern, starting about 2pm. We had an attentive but not obtrusive server, Jordan, and this review in no way reflects on him — we thought he was great! The food was also decent — we noshed on various small plates(try the salmon skewers) over the course of 5 hours or so. The place was fairly empty when we were first there and got a little busier as the dinner hour approached. Several groups of 4 were seated near us and we noted that they weren’t necessarily ordering large amounts of food or drink. On the other hand, our ordering remained consistent, particularly with significant amounts of alcohol — bottles of wine and cocktails — we had between 4 – 8 people total with us over that span of time. In a resort setting, I have never been made to feel uncomfortable for lingering in what had been viewed as more of a lounge setting. However, the host, Brandon, accomplished that in one fell swoop. He approached our table not once but twice, looking somewhat distressed. He actually asked«How much longer are you going to be, I need your table»(there were other available tables in the restaurant). After a few glasses of wine, I responded, «well, if you have a table up in the bar area and would like to buy us our next round, we would be happy to move.» He declined and wandered away. We stayed about a half hour longer and even joked with Jordan about the interaction. He was apologetic and continued to provide excellent service, but the damage had been done and we wrapped up, paid our bill that was over $ 700, and left for the night. A disappointing start to what is usually a memorable couple days in the area.

The service, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful! I had never been to the previous restaurant that occupied this space before so I didn’t have any preconceived ideas about what it should or should not be like. Our waitress was very attentive and the food came out quickly! It’s a little on the pricey side of things, but the quality is well worth it. I had the Oregon Cheesesteak with fries and my friend had the appetizer sliders which were more than enough for a meal! We enjoyed the atmosphere as well. It felt like a very cozy, upscale«tavern.» I would definitely come back next time!

My husband and I have been visiting Sunriver for the past 24 years and, until last week, our trip has always included cocktails and/or dinner at the Sunriver Lodge. Last week, a friend and I stopped into the newly redecorated Twisted River Tavern. Being a small party, the hostess was understandably unwilling to seat us near the windows as most of that seating was redesigned for larger groups. The only table for two was cramped and along a busy aisle. We asked to be seated at one of the small couches by the fireplace, all empty at the time. Very reluctantly she agreed. Almost immediately, the hostess and someone I can only assume was the tavern manager began discussing our seating arrangements in front of us. It was obvious to us that we were not seated to their satisfaction. Over the course of our stay, the women would periodically return, point to us, discuss, and leave. We found it rude and extremely uncomfortable. Meanwhile we waited, and waited, to be served. Perhaps another ten minutes elapsed before a server finally took our orders. He reappeared with our drinks and we were pretty much ignored until I eventually wrangled him for the check. As if the frosty service wasn’t enough, the large screen televisions broadcasting Ultimate Fighting, with images of men beating each other bloody, completely ruined the evening. And to cap it off, loud music made it almost impossible to carry on a conversation. We won’t return.

First time in since this place remodeled from The Owl’s Nest. It was okay. Menu didn’t have much that interested us… we preferred the offerings on the Owl’s Nest menu. I ordered the steak salad, hubs ordered the ahi tuna salad… both were tasty. $ 15-$ 20 price range… expected at a resort restaurant. When we’re back in Sunriver we’ll likely head somewhere else for our date-night… which is disappointing because we’ve been coming here(when on vacation) for 13 years.
