Steak ‘n Shake

We were seated at a table that was noticeably dirty; however, the girl seating us didn’t seem to care even when asked. There was ketchup all over the place mats, sticky shake all over the table, and pieces of food sitting all over. We waited for 10 minutes for someone to clean the table or ask for our drink order, but no one even acknowledged we were there, despite attention being given to those around us. We finally got up and left — still no one even acknowledging us or asking if they could help us. It was extremely disappointing and a total waste of our time. We will never go back to this location.

I have never been so furious with a whole team of people in my whole life. We waited for nearly 45 minutes for two regular meals and a kids meal. The waiter made sure to show us just how unhappy he was to be at work and never cracked a smile, despite how polite and friendly we were being. Most of the employees were standing around, having personal conversations, or shouting at each other. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday night, and they were talking about sending some of the staff home. This is why I don’t understand how our food could take 45 minutes to get to our table. They should have sent the whole staff home and started over with new employees. Once our food FINALLY arrived, we had emptied our drinks. We had to ASK for refills after making eye contact with our waiter multiple times. The icing on the cake was when our waiter just tossed our check on the table without a word. No one apologized for the wait or the horrible service. We didn’t even get a «thank you» for coming in. I don’t often expect a staff to thank me for anything, but after this experience, they should just be thanking me for not burning this place to the ground.
Can I give negative stars?

The shake was 4 stars and the burger and fries 2 star. Very over cooked thin patty, nothing horrible and nothing to write home about. Prices seemed fairly low until you add your drink. Meal was $ 9.95 and I’m still hungry.

Well nothing new went to get food and they forgot the cheese fries the reg. Fries where ice cold I call up there and the mod hung up on me when I asked his name after waiting 25 mind for food you shouldn’t have forgotten anything and the food should have been hot.

Well its Christmas Day and they’re open. Slow like the rest of the reviews but my food was good. Hadn’t been to one before but I’m sure they’re all the same I’m terms of food quality. Served the purpose.

Exactly what I wanted — a Frisco Melt and cheese fries. It’s not great but it’s home for me. Nice and greasy.

No one there should have been a clue… went for lunch, poor service, glasses dirty, sandwiches looked like they were thrown together, buns were in pieces.
We won’t return.

I can’t believe this place can stay open, unless it is frequented by single time folks coming off the highway. Unilocal’s score had increased so I decided to try again. Horrible customer service in the drive thru, and in restaurant alike. What a shame for a great franchise. Skip it, people.

Well, I stop to have lunch on a 30 minute timeline. I ordered at sit down counter, waited 10 – 15 minutes nothing… Asked about order, waitress had forgot to put in computer after taking order. This is at 2:30 pm while there are 4 other customer’s in restaurant!?! Waitress doesn’t tell me, instead just puts the order in… After 20 minutes my food arrives, well almost. I had ordered a cup of chili, oops I forgot to get your chili. My shake arrives before any of the food, UNBELIEVABLE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! WOW…

Been to many Steak N Shakes and this was the worse one I’ve been to. Stopped in while driving through the area, and ordered two take out meals. First issue, I had to go back to the waitress taking the order to get my drink order 10 minutes later. After 10 minutes later without our food, we inquired when the meal would be out. After 5 minutes of searching, they determined our food was finished and had sitting by the grill for 15 minutes. At this point, I’d expect an offer of a fresh meal or vouchers. We got an «oh my bad» and a cold meal. Atypical service, from a fast food spot I typically enjoy.

Made to order means better not faster… I find it funny they have this at their drive through… but very true!
I love their cheeseburgers with lettuce and tomato. I am also a fan of their fries. And gotta have a chocolate malt!!!
The only downside to this location for me personally is my brother is banned. For some reason he and his friend thought it was a good place to go when they were drunk. He spilled his water twice. But it was his vomiting all over the table when he went to order that got him banned… Can’t say I blame them… I just can’t go here with him…

I had a pretty good experience here. This was my first SNS breakfast in maybe 20 years, so I had no idea what to expect. I never really cared much for it then, but I’d say it’s vastly improved since then!
First off though, let’s talk service. Some changes must’ve been made recently.
I’m not sure how much better Kelly could have been. She was friendly, had a pleasant-​not-​forced smile, got our drinks right away, took the order, refilled coffee as needed, and brought us hot food when it was ready.
We had each ordered a side of 4 pieces of bacon (we like bacon!) but they only had 4 total ready with our meals. She brought the meals straight-​away along with 2 plates with 2 pieces each and apologized for not having it all at once. She promised more to come and about 2 minutes later we each had 2 more strips of still-​sizzling bacon. She checked on us twice, got drink refills, and cleared the table when she brought the check. She seemed to have the same routine going with the other customers too.
In other words, exactly what she should have done. Hopefully their issues have been worked out on that front.
So I went ahead and got the «gut-​buster» as I like to call it, or the giant «skillet» thingy as they…(I guess they don’t call it that either.) Anyway, 2 eggs scrambled on top of a biscuit with sausage gravy and a sausage patty, on top of hash browns. Everything, all together. I got through about half and could eat no more! It was hot and all elements were perfectly cooked.
Birdie had the blueberry pancakes, which we didn’t realize actually had berries in the batter and on top, plus whip. It was waaay too much sweet, but again each part was fine, if taken separately. Plain pancakes would have been much better, so be sure to ask unless you like sugar shock! The berries were very good. Next time I may do the unlimited plain ones for $ 3.99 (which is probably still only 3 pancakes!)
The cooks, at least on our visit, seemed to be doing it right.
The glass booth partitions could have been cleaner, but otherwise it seemed fine.

Horrible service. No one was in there and it still took 25 min to make my order. On top of that they couldn’t even get the order right. Tasted like crap too!

Consistently poor service and food quality. I recommend the location near travois bluffs

Was here a couple of weeks ago, the service was awful. The only place with worse service is the Steak N Shake in Manchester.

Fast, good service. Fries were perfect with just the right crispness. Try them with the Steak n Shake season salt. Yum!
