This is a great place in the Sunset Valley area to stop in and take a break from the hustle and bustle of shopping. We get to sip on our favorites as well as try new ones… Malbec is our favorite so far!

We had intentions to get food next door and then saw this winery next door… never made it to the restaurant and stayed here instead. Got more than we bargained for when we walked in. Wonderful people working here, great environment and tasty wine. Will DEFINITELY be back here.

I love this quiet oasis away from the chaos of other places! The Barolo is really good and I grabbed another bottle today and also picked up a Pinot Grigio. The wines do not have the chemicals that I don’t think should be added. A wine should stand on its own! «Custom wine without the chemicals» Supremely good! I’m a wine snob as I was raised with it and also living and working around the world I was able to have some of the best wines in the world. No, I am not rich. Wines that are sent to the states are really jacked up in price and I was able to get what I wanted and bring it back. One thing I did learn is that you don’t drink an expensive wine as a part of the meals but enjoy it on its own. I bought 2 bottles of Barolo to have with an Italian meal. It was a great fit. This little place has fulfilled the perfect fit! The lady who owns the place and makes the wine is quite nice and understand all of the above. I will be back!

I’m not a drinker. I have a low tolerance for alcohol, and wine hits me particularly hard. But I attended a group wine tasting here with a friend yesterday, and thus our tale begins… I got there as the second serving of a six-wine tasting was progressing, and I was immediately struck by the smoothness of the wine that was being served at the moment, a Gewurtraminer. Shortly after sipping that wine, I mentioned that I had almost no tolerance for alcohol. Steve, the master of ceremonies for the tasting, told the group that Austin Custom Wineries did not add sulphites, the major cause of wine intolerance, into their wine as most wineries do for preservative purposes. As a result, though the wines should be drunk within five years, the wines are eminently drinkable for even the lightest of weight drinkers like me. Seriously, I can’t even finish a bottle of beer(Shiner). So I was able to partake in the tasting! I didn’t drink all of each of the wines, but I had more than I normally would have felt comfortable with(to avoid headaches), and I suffered absolutely zero ill effects. It was amazing. Also amazing: ACW’s selection of dessert wines – ports and ice wines. Maybe I’m just not a fancy wine connoisseur, but those dessert wines are drinkable and tasty. And since they have no added sulphites, all I have to worry about is the alcohol content!

Consistent flavors and unique blends! The big nice bar is fun to sit at and the wine variety never ends. Every return is met with a new wine rolling out while still able to get there staple wines. The wine club is my favorite now getting on a discount on bottles I’m buying anyway. I shall be back

Been really happy with this group since finding them several years ago. While the recipes might have changed over the years, they never cease to bring a great selection out every year. The port wines have been some of our favorites, raspberry chocolate port in particular. My husband has always been a fan of their blackberry merlot. We moved north of Austin, but when ever we take a trip to south Austin area, this spot is a must stop! Don’t forget to ask about their wine club too; it is a great way to sample the variety of flavors they bring out!

I got hooked on Austin Custom Winery due to the less amount of sulfolamides(I know I mis spelled that)! Mary and Steve are excellent hosts… I love that they are patient and accommodating. I also recently became a wine club member… Lots of perks, including getting to create my own wine label with custom picture! So happy I found this AUSTIN business!

I applaud the concept of the place and fact that Austin is being introduced to such establishments. I think the owners have their heart in the right place. And the wine making process is certainly very clean and non commerical. My review is purely based on the wine that I, and some of my fellow meetup crew had when we were there for a Cards Against Humanity meetup. The meetup itself was well organized. But the wine by glass at $ 7+ tax is definitely not worth it. I had the Pinot Noir, which me, not being a wine aficionado, could tell was very sweet and not like Pinot at all. The Merlot & the Cab that other people consumed had the same reaction. I hope my review is taken in the right stride, and the establishment ups its game to compete with the best. I would also work on the air conditioning some more when 50+ people are in there, it did get a bit stuffy in the middle of June, and Austin isn’t really known for pretty summers.
