Well I seen it and started to crave it. Tried it and loved it. $ 3 for a dog but well worth it for the experience. Loved the dog and bun was perfect. Will be a returning customer.

Typical NY city owner who has no idea how to treat people in NC. When someone in our group ask what they had to drink, he replied «we have a sign, look at it». Yells out the orders from his tiny window. No French fries, and he obviously doesn’t care what anyone thinks or says. Get out of Topsail Beach and go back to the city!

Can I post negative stars? The owner, I presume, is very personable… if you like being called a derogatory term for the mentally challenged and have windows shut in your face.
I can say that we did ask a strange question in that are brownies available.
I cannot discourage people to frequent this establishment enough. If you are tempted to go ask for the brownies I heard they have the best on the island.

I was insulted and yelled at when inquiring about dessert. This place is in a perfect spot for dessert or a snack at the beach. With outdoor seating so near to the public beach access it is a shame the employees have such an abrasive attitude and cannot simply answer with a smile. I had asked if they had brownies, as my friends and I had talked about a brownie sundae during lunch. I was yelled at inappropriately and for a moment I thought the man was joking and just taken it too far. Finally he slammed the window in my face before I could even gather my thoughts. We left, as there are many ice cream parlors in the area. This experience was uncalled for and I hope others read this and choose to vote with their money and purchase ice cream from any other location — the grocery store is even a better alternative.

Very disappointed with our experience here. We did not end up ordering any food after the cashier insulted us and shut the door in our faces.
I’m not sure if this man with a NYC accent was attempting to play the role of a rude, inconsiderate New Yorker transplanted in Surf City, or if this is his actual personality and how he treats his patrons, but our entire group was offended by his comments and actions.
I strongly recommend not eating at this establishment.

A few complaints of what should be a wonderful beachside experience. Namely the customer service… The owner is exceptional rude. Stingy. They won’t give cups of water. You must buy bottled water. The employees and owner are alternating smoking on the eating patio where their patrons are trying to eat. I ordered a German dog which was served with a skimpy amount of sauerkraut. When I asked for more, they charged me another $.50. The same guys who took my money with bare hands then went to finish making hot dogs, again with bare hands and no hand washing– so gross :(!! When ordering shaved ice, the owner reprimands the other employee for filling the cups with too much ice and syrup– as wanting him to serve smaller portions. Rude, stingy, unclean and super disappointing. The owner seems to have a «if you don’t like it, go pound sand» attitude and the employees follow as his distraught minions.

Now a yearly tradition ! Love Diggity !!! My kids love this place, chili cheese dog = awesome … Diggity even gave my little girl a toy — a paper towel roll, nice !!!

The dogs here are all beef. Very delicious. And affordable. I will go here every time I am in topsail beach.

Family of five enjoying 4 slushes and 5 hotdogs get called a «Scum –bag» for eating french fries from a different location. Wow. Sorry we already spent over $ 30 from your «glamours» restaurant. Will not be returning, thank you management. Who was smoking like a chimney.

My favorite spot in Surf City whenever I come to the area to visit family. Fun, easy going atmosphere and great staff. Always good for a fun conversation. The hot dogs are amazing but my favorite is the cherry shaved ice. This place is great right after being on the beach. Dog friendly, they bring out water for my dog, and cut up a hot dog for her at my request. Well worth the stop.

Love this place!!! We frequent topsail every year once or twice and always make this a stop. Large portion and amazing.

Hot Diggity offers a nice selection of dogs but are a bit over priced for what you get. I had the Main Street dog and it was good — but not great. The bun ended up getting a little bit soggy from either the chili or the hot dog itself. The chili was pretty good but didn’t blow me away. If I hadn’t eaten some killer dogs in Charlotte I would have probably given this a 4 or 5 star rating but my bar has been reset over the last few months. All in all, it will likely satisfy your craving but it isn’t going to leave you with much more than that.

I’m not the biggest hot dog fan, but this place is awesome. We ate here three times in one week. The food is great and the employees have always been amazingly nice.

Great quick place for lunch! My family ordered the Beach Dog, The New Yorker, the Carolina Dog, and Nachos with Cheese. The Beach Dog and Carolina Dogs were both good. The New Yorker was just Ok. The pink lemonade was delicious! The nachos were stale. Bummer.
The owner and other staff member both came out to chat with us while we ate. Both lit cigarettes while standing maybe 5 feet from us! Gross! They were super nice and we enjoyed talking with them; however, we did not enjoy smelling their smoke while we ate. Not to mention it was the last thing I wanted around my 9 month old.

Better than no hot dog… but it seemed like the ingredients all lacked flavor and seasoning. The chili needed more chili powder. The onion wasn’t zippy.
Overall ok.

Stopped by for a quick bite. The dogs are inexpensive, good, and are served quickly and in a nice soft potato bun.
We were sitting at the picnic tables enjoying our dogs and a friendly gentleman came up to ask us how they were. We said we were enjoying them very much. He sat down at another table to talk with us, telling us his were the best dogs in NC and the secret is that they’re marinated. In what, he wouldn’t say. OK, I get it, trade secret. I can respect that. We realized he was the owner.
Like I said, he’s a friendly guy, but he immediately lit up a cigarette when he came over to talk. I don’t like to ingest smoke, particularly when I’m eating. If you’re reading this, sir, rather than waving me off, think about it. Non-​smokers, former smokers, whatever, not everyone wants to smell smoke when they’re eating. We appreciated your friendliness and telling us about the dogs, but please, keep the smoke away from your customers! It’s a real buzz kill. Even though the dogs were great, I doubt we’d return again.

The owner is so personable and from NY, which makes me like him even more since I’m from NJ :) Staff was quick and efficient. They have a 100% restaurant rating. That’s impressive and the way it should be everywhere!
Chili cheese hot dog with yellow mustard and sauerkraut (chili cheese & German mix) on a Marin’s Potato Roll — awesome. This place agrees with pregnancy!
Pink lemonade — perfect sweetness. Even my husband who doesn’t typically care for anything sweet loved it and kept saying how good it was.
We will be back!

Best hot dog place to visit in the summer. Fast service. Kind people. Tons of flavored for shaved ice. Raspberry was my favorite! The price is reasonable. Top five place in Top Sail to eat!

I cannot express how much I love this place. We have been back a number of times while on vacation and it is a must-​visit every single time. The shaved ice is good in every flavor and the hot dogs are to die for. The owner is the sweetest man in the world. We came running up on our last trip… we unfortunately were too late and they were closed. The owner saw us in the parking lot and saw that I was pregnant and REOPENED the store just to make me hot dogs and satisfy my cravings. 100% in my book.

You want a NY dog… This is it!!! The owner will do anything (within reason) to make sure you get the best product possible and just the way you want it. «It’s to die for» Best dog south of the Javits Center NYC.
