Moon Valley Nurseries

The tree in our front yard fell down with some wind this week, so my wife and I went to Moon Valley to look at options of getting a replacement. As we walked in, Ashleigh, stopped everything she was doing immediately to make sure that we got her undivided attention, she asked us questions about what we were looking to do, how much we were looking to spend, etc. She never made us feel pressured into buying a replacement immediately. She took the time to discuss proper care and maintenance of the tree we were considering, and based on her knowledge and her «no sales pressure» attitude, we decided to make the purchase immediately.
As I look to do other projects in the future, I’ll turn to Moon Valley and Ashleigh to help us out.

Stopped by the Surprise Moon Valley location this morning looking to replace a tree that recently croaked. Was greeted pleasantly as I entered the grounds. It went pretty much downhill from there. I was immediately taken to the larger trees even though I indicated I was looking for something smaller. The pitch was «they’re now ½ off». The starting price means nothing if the «discounted price» is still much higher than market. It became very clear to me in a short amount of time the person helping me was working on commission. I felt like I was at Midway Chevrolet. Maybe they have the same parent company (or follow the same business model). Long story short, they are way over priced. I shot on down to Elgin Nursery and got a much nicer tree for less than 60% of what Moon Valley wanted.

I had an amazing experience at this location. I bought several trees that were going to be planted at my house. I came to the store a little indecisive about which trees I should buy for my house however the manager at this location Grant Beuter was extremely helpful. He personally took an hour of his time to walk me around the nursery and help me decide what would be best for my house. The crew that came out to my house to plant the trees were awesome as well, they showed up on time and did a great job. I couldn’t be happier with this location, I will definitely be doing business with them again.

Having problems with my palms. Heard a lot about their moon juice. So I came by to purchased some juice and two cubic feet of mulch. They were very helpful, even helped me carrying the moon juice to my truck. I’ll let you know what happened to my palms. But as of know I am satisfied with their service.

Location & Aesthetics — Located by the intersection of Grand & Dysart in the Surprise area, and not difficult to miss as they have a large sign with an attached windmill. Just go past the train tracks if you’re coming from Greenway and hang a right.
There’s lot of available parking.
When we entered, we were told that we were the only customers around so staff came out to greet and welcome us. They were very friendly, courteous and offering advice where applicable.
They even offered a free backyard consultation!
Their nursery itself is huge with lots of variety of potted plants, small-​to-​midsized trees, to even large trees which were over 10 years old.
I can’t comment on whether their prices are too high as I’ve seen in some of the other reviews and this is only because I haven’t been to other competitive nurseries in the area; however, once I do, I will be glad to update this review.
My only gripe, on this visit, I didn’t see any small plants for inside the house or herbs (–1).

Went here to pick up my Blue Hibiscus after the Home and Garden Show on 3÷8÷15. Of course I visited Moon Valley at the show only because of the treatment/​help/​advise my son and I received at this location when my son was searching for a tree. The guy who helped us was Clay. Honestly, I think he was a tree in a previous life :) He was very knowledgeable of his agriculture. He was going to school, he knew all the answers to our questions and concerns. When a company hires help, you assume that the younger people are just there to earn money and go about their day. Not here. The staff is so very helpful. Clay really want to help us understand what we were about to purchase, how to care for it, and even offer to answer any questions we may have later. It is this type of person that will, one day, make an awesome manager. I know that «his» store will be run from the heart. With real concern and involvement. Thank you Clay. Cant wait to get my package order in!!! I need trees!

Went here yesterday and Conner Williams helped us, he was very knowledgeable about products and helped us choose products and was very friendly. A lot of people say they’re overpriced but if you shop their ad, you can really save a lot of money. I feel better about going here than some box stores where they may not be as knowledgeable.

Management is making a bad situation good. Will re-​review, once completed.

We just moved to AZ and went to Moon Valley to get ideas for a major landscape overhaul. Anthony DeSilva greeted us as we entered and walked us through their extensive nursery. He listened to our desires and helped steer us to the plants that would best meet our needs. He came to our house the next day and gave us a consult on what we wanted to do. At the house it became apparent the scope of the job and he scheduled Tony Cruse, an expert on hardscape, to come the next day at a specific time that worked with our schedule. Anthony and Tony worked with us to get the design just how we wanted it and work through the pricing so it met our budget.
On the week of installation the crew showed up at 8am per schedule with foreman Nick Bigelow leading the charge. Nick did a fantastic job organizing the crew and sequencing the job. He was extremely patient with my wife and I as we asked questions throughout the week long project. Any concern, adjustment, or change of plan we had was addressed immediately by Nick without having to adjust the project cost.
My wife and I are thrilled with the final result. The Moon Valley team brought to life the landscape we had imagined and we are resting easy knowing they warrant their work, plants, and irrigation system.

We ordered and paid (over 400.00) for a tree and it wasn’t delivered as promised. When we called we were told their truck broke and they could bring it next week. (take another day off to wait for them???)
No apologies. And a 15% fee if you cancel orders. Seriously? Lets get our stuff together. This is not acceptable.

I was in this Moon Valley location over the weekend looking for some shrubs to plant at my grandma’s house. The nursery is filled with beautiful, healthy looking plants and all of the staff were very attentive and helpful. It is obvious that Moon Valley specializes in larger trees and they had an exceptional selection of mature transplantable trees. I did think that everything was very highly priced and we ended up leaving empty handed because of the prices.

Very happy with Moon. With any plant, you have to pick the best, when transplanting treat it for shock, my Grandmother taught me that. As for price, of course you can always do better… Or can you. Not really. They are competitive in value for product.
I get a kick out of people that, think a plant is dying when it is resting in the winter, then do not care for it when spring comes, gets mad when it really dose die for lack of husbandry. Do a little research learn about your plant. I have bought a lot of plants over the years from Moon, most are doing great. I have a second Tree that is still a twig, I put it in soil it dose not like, not enough sun, and it is a little crowded, I expected it to live and grow much slower and look less vigorous. That is just what happened.
I did not expect the other tree to grow so fast. Oh, yes, years ago I planted several bushes from Moon Valley, one died the other two flourished in the spring, they replaced the bush. I do not know if that is their policy or not, I know what they did for me. I have wondered if I may have gotten air bubble in the roots when I planted it. I believe that plants they plant are covered with a guarantee despite not having control over the watering and feeding of the plant/​tree after they leave.
