Delicious handmade sandwiches are served on their quaint patio, located right off Main Street. Enjoyed lunch in between a day of shopping.

Stopped by for lunch today and it was just great. One in our party had the tuna sandwich special and I shared the Gold Rush turkey sandwich with a friend. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Had the asparagus mushroom leek soup and a half Gold Rush sandwich. The soup was delicious and the sandwich was, too. More than adequate quantities. Hubby had the Dego Joe sandwich and he love it.

So I went back to this sandwich place with my friend becky to take to go, but this time they make everything wrong. we said not mustard, no tomatoes, no bacon with extra mayo and what they do put everything we didn’t want plus the owner was super rude and crabby Never go back again, sometimes places deserve second chances but not this one. I like good food but not when the staff is rude specially when is the owner.

Stopped at Cavana’s for lunch after doing a Color Run with a friend in Jackson. Such a wonderful lunch. We eat had the soup and sandwich. The soup which was meatball was amazing I still think about how wonderful it was two weeks later. It was so fresh and homemade I got a cup but I should’ve had a bowl. I had Volcano Sandwich and it was delicious. We ate every bite of what we ordered. I also had a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was $ 4 but so worth it. It was HUGE and had some many good things in it. I was going to save it for when I got home but it was gone before I was off of 88 :) Looking forward to returning to Cavana’s the next time I visit Amador County.

We stopped by for a quick snack between tastings — just split a half sandwich. The bread was fresh and the portions of meat, cheese and avocados were really generous. Looking forward to coming back for a full lunch. Very friendly owner and staff as well, with a really nice outdoor patio.

We stopped in sutter creek on our way to Andis wines . The visitor center and several friends had recommended Cavannna’s deli. We had soup and sandwich and Gold Rush turkey sandwich. Both came quickly, very fresh, the soup was made that morning by the owner and the quantities we sufficient. The service was also quick. A great find, nice atmosphere and a family owned business so lots of reasons to go.

We were visiting Sutter Creek and based upon the reviews, we were excited to give this deli a try. First and foremost, the lady taking our order was very unfriendly and somewhat rude. Really?! Where’s the smile and warmly greeting your customers? Not once did she makes us feel welcome in her establishment. She needs a lesson in customer service. As for the sandwich, it was good but nothing spectacular.

The tri-tip sandwich was outstanding! Plenty to eat and high quality. Finely cut with a delicious bbq sauce and high grade mustard. My wife and daughter split the pastrami sandwich and loved it! Very nice patio with heat lamps. Definitely will come back when visiting Sutter Creek.

This is a great little deli on a side street in beautiful Sutter Creek. I just wanted the tomatoe bisque. Which was very good. A dollop of sour cream, a few sprinkles of chives and a couple of small chunks of tomatoe and I would have given a 5 star.

Myself and the boyfriend were driving around looking for somewhere to eat after our trip up to the black chasm cavern. We asked a guy in the visitor center a good place to eat and he suggested the pizza place right next door to this deli. Unfortunately the pizza place was closed due to it being labor day I’m assuming. So we decided to come here for lunch instead. My sandwich was good. So why the 3 stars? The service. The lady taking my order wasn’t necessarily rude but pretty standoffish and no smiles. I just got the vibe that she didn’t want us there. It was a little odd. Our sandwiches were good though and came out very fast!

We were planning on eating elsewhere and took a wrong turn so we decided to try something new. We are glad that we did! Cavana’s not only had a vegetarian sandwich on their menu, they were also able to accommodate us with a gluten free bread option. Our lunch was fresh and delicious! The staff and owner are friendly and personable, and the restaurant grounds are welcoming and clean. A great place to eat. We will definitely eat here again next time we are in Sutter Creek. J

Top notch sandwich spot! The outdoor patio seating is very nice if there is mild weather outside. The sandwiches are huge so I decided to split mine with someone. Had the roast beef. Very good meaty flavor. Two other people I was with had the vegetarian sandwich and told me it was packed full of a variety of veggies and had great flavors.

Tasty! Stopped in here on the way to Tahoe for breakfast. Had a really memorable, delicious sandwich on a bagel. It was a nice combo of hot and cold mustards, decent quality meat, and a great bagel. Nice place for breakfast and lunch — small and quaint.

I envy anyone who starts up a new Deli in this sleepy town. You’re facing competition from Backroads Café, the famous Andrae’s Bakery and a host of chain restaurants in nearby Martel. After my first visit, I’m confident that Cavana’s has all the ingredients to beat out these competitors. For starters, they’re open for lunch on a Wednesday. I was rather shocked to see that Backroads was not. I know there is a small population up here, but surely even a few lunch customers is good for business? Second, their Volcano sandwich was incredibly flavorful and the perfect balance of ingredients. I got mine without cream cheese because I have an aversion to cheesy spreads on my sandwiches. Our order came out in a timely fashion. The sandwich was big, but not so big that a hungry 6’2″ gentleman like myself couldn’t throw it all down. It came served alongside a delicious crisp and salty pickle. They have a fine selection of kettle chips and drinks as well. They had tomato bisque soup that day, which smelled delicious, but I was really all about my meats and toppings. Cavana’s is a little hard to spot at first. They are located down a side alley just off the main street. Make the extra effort to go out of the way for one of their sammy’s and I think you’re in for a treat.
