We drove a 100 miles today today to have lunch at Pepita’s. What a disappointment, my husband ordered chili verde and got a very tiny portion of pork in a bowl with another very small amount of rice, his meal was very expensive for what he got. I ordered guacamole that was very soggy and full of onions and tomatoes more than avacados. I also ordered a shrimp molcajete with a salad. The salad was wilted and brown I was afraid to eat it. I have had the molcajete here before and it was outstanding so I ordered it again and today it was not good at all. It was a bowl of shrimp and onions the bowl was half full of onions when I was finished. There was no cactus and a few tiny pieces of zucchini and summer squash. Such a disappoint since the quality was so inferior to the first trip yet the price remains extremely high. We will not be traveling to this destination again for lunch. I will say the people that waited on us were rushed but very friendly.

Well we have been here a few times… it’s usually pretty good. But we had a C– this last time. Took our order for two. Got half it wrong. Had to remake. Charge us extra for corn tortillas. Never asked if wanted something else to drink. Took them 5 mins to bring the tortillas. So my meal was cold. Salsa just ok… chips cold and out of a bag. Will spend our money else were next time.

Phenomenal! Every time we come here. Some of the best taqueria style authentic Mexican food with first class service. Outstanding tacos, including the fish tacos. The Valcano Molcajete lava bowls are a must! Make this a stop on your visit to Sutter Creak, CA, and the rest of the Amado Co. area. You won’t be disappointed!

Great food! Had the volcano molcajete with shrimp, very tasty. Pretty simple setting, but friendly service. Prices were good, solid value. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I will definitely be back again sometime soon!

This restaurant is located in the cute little community of Sutter Creek, CA and They got some good meals there. They have this one dish that is served from the Stone Bowls(Mocajete) and you can have any of the meats in it and it is really good. They have average tacos, enchiladas and burritos. But that Mocajete was really good, again another location whose prices are determined by it’s location but its worth going for that bowl.

Stopped in here for a late lunch. Service was good, waitress came out right away and our food and drinks were brought out in no time. We ordered tacos and enchiladas… we all agreed the food was ok, not bad by any means and I will probably come back here again and eat if I am in town with friends shopping. A-OK is the perfect rating for me.

So the food was actually really good the service on the other hand well I can’t say the same. I had the two cheese enchiladas plate I got one w red sauce one w green. I prefer the red over the green. The red just tasted less canned more homemade. The rice and bean were good as well no complaints there! My dad had the chicken fajitas he really liked them. He said the seasoning was really good. He wouldn’t mind eating here again. My dad doesn’t say he likes food just when he doesn’t like food so for him to say he would eat something again is pretty good. I would of given this place a higher rating due to the taste of their food but working in the customer service industry for so long I cannot. They were just very unorganized and that is a bad impression. Try this place out of you like food more than service. Totally worth it.

The Volcano Molcajete was amazing! It was so flavorful and delicious. Guacamole very fresh — salsa was just ok and that is why I can only give four stars.

Wow. Best restaurant for miles in either direction. Great homestyle Mexican food, cooked with love. Go for the enchiladas — both the red chile and green chile sauces were as good as any I’ve had.

Such a delicious experience! Stopped in here on a visit to town and fell in love. The owner such a nice man. He and his wife are from Mexico and the food is all her recipes. He says everything is made fresh, no canned food. I truly felt like I was eating a home cooked meal rather than restaurant food. Simply yummy and a wonderful experience.

I had lunch here with a friend while enjoying the cute town of Sutter Creek. Unfortunately, the food at Pepita’s is nothing to rave about. I had a taco and enchilada combo plate with rice and beans. The food was ok, but nothing that I would need to have again. I’ve had far better Mexican food elsewhere. The absolute worst part of my meal was the side of guacamole that they charge $ 3 for. It was a tiny scoop of mostly onions and tomato chunks. Hardly any avocado was included in the guac. YUCK! I don’t want chunky onion dip with my chips, thank you. Also, the price is not worth the food that they serve. Can you say overpriced? There have to be far better Mexican restaurants within a short drive. Pepita’s es no bueno.

I stopped at Pepitas while driving through the area. The location is perfect, right in the heart of historic Sutter Creek. The menu had tons of options but i chose to have the veggie burrito which was to die for! The veggies and beans were perfectly seasoned and they grilled the burrito to perfection. The service was excellent and the restaurant had a very welcoming ambiance. I will definitely be back!

Great place… wish I could give 4.5 stars. The only thing that wasn’t great was the salsa for the chips… a little too tomato-saucy. I had the Chile Rellano/Enchilada combination — it was wonderful! I always judge a Mexican place by its Chile Rellano… perfect. My wife had three small tacos — chicken, shredded beef and one other(pork? can’t remember). They were real good too. Nice thing about it was they were open on Monday night, when a lot of places were closed. Don’t miss this place if you like good Mexican food!

Good food and good service. They don’t open until 11; however they do have a breakfast menu. Good chips and salsa. Fast friendly service.

Honest food with terrific service. After a day of driving, or touring around the area, we like to eat within walking distance of our hotel. After an overpriced, mediocre, pretentious meal our first night, we chose Pepita’s over the other 2 options in town(both of which seemed likely to echo the first-night experience). Although I thought the tortillas were sub-par(tasted like cardboard) everything else was fresh and well-prepared, not to mention a bargain in an area where most everything was overpriced.
