I was looking for a load (1 cord) of firewood. Since the last few times I have bought firewood I haven’t been too happy, I called this guy based on the recommendation of a friend. When I mentioned that I had been «burned» by a guy last year (short cord), the guy on the phone said that if we weren’t happy with the wood, he would take it back. So I went ahead and ordered it thinking that I would be darn sure he lived up to his word.
They delivered on Friday, and were actually on time. The wood looked good, and the amount looked right so I told him to dump it as close as he could to where I stack it, (the last guy just dumped it in the driveway) He got it spot-​on, which makes a big difference since I didn’t have to haul it from the driveway. He accepted a check (most guys want cash so there’s no paper-​trail), and gave me a coupon for a free plow service next winter.
I guess this guy is just starting out, but with service like that, I am sure that he will do well. AND… he had a really nice German Shepherd riding with him (one of my favorite dogs).
