I ordered a cake from this bakery for my daughters 1st birthday photos. I went to the location but it appeared to be closed. I called and was told I could email a special order. Great. Gave the person a picture of what a wanted and got my invoice. A few days before the shoot I emailed to say what time our shoot was going to be and asked if someone could please have the cake to me by 8:30am when we’d be leaving. I got an email that they’d check and get back to me last that evening. No email. I emailed the next morning and just got a curt response… no acknowledging that no one ever got back to me the previous day… OK whatever. So the morning of(today) time rolls on and no cake. At 8:15 I emailed and my husband called. A bit after 8:30 rolls around someone shows up, drops the cake off and leaves. No apology. No nothing. That’s lack of customer service skills. Luckily we were running a bit late. The cake was gorgeous and tasted good(a bit stale at some parts) but I would’ve given business again had they had better customer service. I paid good money for the cake. I could’ve been treated better.

I could list the full story on how or why I am not giving it 5 stars, but instead I’ll just say what the birthday boy said when he had the first bite — it’s okay. In my experience, it wasn’t fresh and it was deformed within the hour of delivery.

I’ve been to many places to feed ny sweet tooth, but few are worth reviewing. This place however is definitely worth it. Miko runs the whole show and has so many wonderfully different varieties of cupcakes and cakes. My favorite cupcakes she’s known for are her Chocolate Overload, Rocky Road, Boston Cream Pie, and I just recently discovered her York Peppermint Patty. She uses swiss meringue icing which is wonderful because its not excessively sweet and has a more whipped texture to. I love this because I can enjoy her cupcakes semi-regularly without taking a one-way trip to diabetes land. My fiancé and I love to surprise each other with Miko’s ever rotating stock of cupcakes. In the past year we’ve come in about once a month and have left with at least three new flavors we have not tried before. Adults if you’re wanting to have a dinner party I’d suggest her Chocolate Hennessey cupcake. She can also do any type of custom cake you can think of. She has photo albums filled with custom designed cakes she’s made. For parents I would suggest the Sour Patch Kids cupcake for your kid’s birthday. Or try out one of her cakes as well. You cannot go wrong eating her treats. So treat yourself, I’m about to!
