Beginnings of a great park! I spent a couple hours walking around and exploring & enjoyed myself. Will be a lovely, peaceful and more serene park once fully developed. + cute play place for kids + horseshoe pit + plenty of exploring opportunities for kids and dogs + lots of wildlife… butterflies, birds and deer + river views are beautiful + bathrooms convenient, but really just dressed up port-o-potties — wish there were more walking trails with views of the river — wish all of the paths had been clearly marked and had a clear beginning and end — nearby housing construction noisy & takes away from peaceful environment — some paths overgrown — nature trails hard to find… felt like I was trespassing in some spots — one trail I was advised against walking alone for safety reasons(overgrown & all the construction workers)

One of my favorite things to do is go kayaking on a nice sunny day. A couple weekends ago Bobby and I took our kayaks and decided to park one car here and put in a ways up the road in the other car. We had a nice relaxing trip down the river we saw a blue herring, fish, and even some other kayakers which was pretty cool. When we got out I had to wait with both kayaks for Bobby to pick me up. It was really great they have picnic benches you can sit at to snack or wait as in my case making it a little more comfortable. The only downside was that we had to wait a while to find parking when we got there its a pretty small lot. But other than that great little spot to drop your car before going on a river adventure!

This park, recently opened in South Forsyth County, with its entrance on Old Atlanta Road, just north of Versenoia Horse Farm, is a passive facility. A small play area, complete with a rope suspension bridge(1 foot off the ground, moms), a fine gravel ADA level walking trail of approx, 1.2 mile length, a nature trail, picnic pavilion, kayak/canoe ramp, restrooms, human and dog water fountains, and a wonderful view of the adjoining horse farm, all sit on the west bank of the Chattahoochee. This is a perfect outdoor trail for my wife, who is battling small vessel disease of her brain. Today, Saturday, we were one of two vehicles in the substantial parking lot. The walk alongside the river was peaceful, healing, and comfortably cool. Need a place for some ‘unwind time’? This is it. What a perfect place to step away from one of the local businesses for a quiet bag lunch!
