Steak ‘n Shake

Worst service ever. We waited 10 mins to get a table when they weren’t busy. We waited 10 minutes til we got a server. We waited 10 more minutes til we got a drink. All while the young high schoolers that work there are cutting up in the back not worried about their customers. Staff is ridiculously unorganized. So slowwwwwwww.

Thanks for forgetting to add lettuce and tomato to my sandwich for the 4^th visit in a row! Worst run steak and shake in Atlanta!

Service at this location is never good. Poor management and not enough staff. Food is often left for pickup for 5 – 10 min.

This restaurant is so poorly run. This is the third time we have come by thinking the results would be different. There were so many dirty tables that there was no place to sit. We finally were seated at the one and only clean table but it was to no use because no one ever waited on us. Steak and Shake is always good but corporate is doing a huge injustice to this restaurant by not jumping all over them.

I have tried many of their dishes and enjoyed them all. Greta stuff, but not if you are on a diet.

MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO START MANAGING! SERIOUSLY!
On my previous visit, corporate staff was on site and our meals were perfectly executed. When we visited a couple of nights ago at approximately 10pm, it was a different story. We walked inside and proceeded to wait to be acknowledged, (because you have to wait to be seated). In the meantime a young man comes into the restaurant and happens to mention that he has been sitting in the drive-​thru for quite a while with no response. I tell him that he can order ahead of us. The waiter finally comes over and takes this customer’s order while the customer explains the situation in a very polite manner.
Instead of waiting to have a direct with conversation with the person who should be monitoring the window, the waiter continues to just yell back toward the kitchen in a very inappropriate and unprofessional manner, (Whose wearing the headset?, What’s going on at the window?). It would have been fine had he simply said «Excuse me a moment» and walked over to speak with his co-​worker to inform her of the concerns regarding window service.
While the waiter is taking this young man’s order, I am slowly realizing that this restaurant looks very dirty but I am only seeing one side. As the waiter eventually leads us to a booth, I realize that the entire restaurant is filthy and I tell the waiter that the condition of the restaurant is filthy, needs to be cleaned and that we will NOT be dining in. As we waited to have my daughter’s «to go» order prepared, we notice another employee walk in from her break and proceed to just hang out and not lift one finger to start bussing tables or sweep the floor. My daughter overheard the waiter tell her to clean her tables. However, she literally did nothing but walk around tossing coins in her hand. Meanwhile, we notice that the Manager, (complete with dress shirt and tie), is busting his butt getting the orders out. Absolutely ridiculous!
The Manager needs to start managing and cutting the dead weight. If an employee is not astute enough to realize that dirty tables and floors need to be cleaned, then they are not ready to work in a restaurant environment. Also, a little bleach, soap and hot water goes a long way toward keeping floors clean and appealing. Try it! Food and filth don’t go together!
We eventually took my daughter’s order to go and there were no complaints. However, I can’t help but wonder about the condition of the restaurant’s kitchen if the dining area, (that is actually seen), is so disgusting. Think about it.

I have been to this location multiple times in the last few months and each time, the service just gets worse.
Tonight was the first time that we went through the drive thru, only to get to the speaker and find a sign that says the drive thru is closed.
While it’s better to close the drive thru than to keep it open and not be able to take care of your customers, it speaks volumes as to the state of conditions at this location.
The corporate office needs to step in and fix things ASAP.

I had to wait 10 minutes to have my order taken. Four tables around us were not bused the entire time we were there. And we had to wait 20 more minutes for food to be delivered. My gaucamole steakburger tasted fine, but it was cold. My husband’s order was missing the extra onions that he ordered. The poor server looked like he was only one here. Next time I want s burger, I will go somewhere else.

That was teally good food. Great service, too. The staff was very friendly. We look forward to returnkng.

I had to wait about 5 – 6 minutes before someone would take my order at the drive thru while the rain was coming down. Got to the window and waited forever. All I got was a single burger and fries.

What has happened here? I gave you guys FOUR stars 2 years ago!!!
The last couple of visits:
–Ladies bathroom is beyond discusting
–Couldn’t get a refill, not one
–Employees yelling at and arguing with each other in earshot of guests
–Friends of employees sitting at“bar” yelling back and forth in conversations with each other
The only reason I’m giving you 2 stars now is because the food is still good.
I should knock off a star for the fact that you, literally, have to walk THROUGH the drive-​thru lane’s line of cars to get back to your vehicle. WTH designed this layout?

Remember this is not McDonald’s or burger King. They don’t have burgers waiting in a window. They do cook to order.
We ordered online today for lunch and it took a minute or two longer and we were missing some fries. BUT when we went back in the staff was great about taking care of us. I was very happy with how they treated us. Will go back.

I went here at 11pm and it was not that busy compared to other locations. The wait was a bit too long for drinks and ordering. I mean cmon… I already know what I want, just come by already! Like all Steak ‘n Shake’s…their dirty. However. I was surprised to find that the bathroom was not dirty compared to Duluth Steak ‘n Shake’s. It was very clean which was great. Oh, this location is only opened till 12am, not a 24 hour Steak n’ Shake which is disappointing. I rarely come to these locations… but their fries and milkshakes are so damn delicious no matter how bad the service is.

40 minute wait after ordering to get a burger… from a burger place. Not even very crowded.

I have been to many steak and shake locations and this is the worst one yet. Sad because this is closest to my home.
The service is so slow. In addition the manager is a complete slob and looks un presentable and dirty every time I’m there. Any time I get a shake it’s an utter mess.

Could I give a lower rating? I love Steak and Shake, but this one will never be on my list again. Where to start? The service is terrible. I don’t blame the wait staff as I do the management. A waitress spilled drinks all over a fellow customer and I watched as the manager handed her a towel and went back to working the drive thru window. We went on a Friday evening and the place was half empty, but they acted as though they were slammed. The manager walked by three sets of customers waiting to be seated and went to work the drive thru. We all just waited. We were there for over an hour and a half. The place remained half empty. At the end of the meal, as I was paying, I had to ask, «would you like to know how everything was?» I explained my unhappiness, but do you think the manager was called? Nope, he continued working the drive thru. Apparently the drive thru is very important. If you go, I recommend that, but forget table service or go to another one. I won“t be back.

This is the best place for a grill/​diner. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves burgers and fries!

Usually steak n shake is really good. My dad and I are regulars at the Cumming steak n shake. But we were passing this one so we stopped for a late dinner. But the service was pretty crappy. The soup my dad got came way late and we had to remind the waitress (who was rather preoccupied kissing her boyfriend in the back) to give it to us and when it came it was extremely salty and cold. So we gave up on the soup. My milkshake wasn’t even the right flavor but I kept my mouth shut and tried my best not to barf. Haha. It was like some weird flavor that must not be on the menu. I asked for cookie dough but she brought a strange collaboration of chocolate and pure malt syrup. No cookies. No dough. I know it wasn’t original chocolate or dark chocolate because that’s why my dad got and it was totally different. Burgers and fries were good… But I really don’t recommend this particular steak n shake.
