Terrible just terrible. I had such high hopes for this place thinking that this could be my families new go to place. When you walk in the filth is overwhelming like you need to run home and shower dirty. And the food is overpriced trash. Worst breakfast I have ever had.

Good food, good quality for the price. Definitely recommend for Pocono’s visitor. I had a good service too.

I have to give one star even though the food, especially the meats were very good. The story: Family was staying at Great Wolf Lodge and this was just down the street. It has that country bumpkin feel, which we like for breakfast. Everything was fine until it was a 10 minute wait for the server to take our drink orders and answer some questions about the choices after being seated. She was friendly enough, so «OK fine» even though they were not that busy. My family(2 adults and 12, 10, &8 yrs old kids) order the big combo(can’t remember the exact name) for like $ 24 plus a french toast breakfast and two additional sides and we all shared. The extra side of toast and sausage did not come with the first delivery of food and our server had to be reminded. Food was really good, especially the bacon, ham, sausage, and kielbasa. So much so in fact, I was very interested in their«meat to go» choices on the back of the menu. But the server never came by to check on us for more coffee or juice so I had to finally waive her down for refills and ask her about the«meats to go». … the service negatives were starting to add up. I asked her if I needed to order the«to go» items in the front(there is a store in the front part that sells stuff, a la Cracker Barrel) and she assured me, «no just let her know and she will take care of it»(this hit me later and was part of what really soured me on the place). As we finished, the server was suddenly attentive to our needs, which I quickly realized she was anxious to give us our check(maybe she was at the end of shift at 10am???). OK fine, we’ll get out of your hair, but I was wanted some meats to go, even though they were like $ 16/lb. So I let her know and she went in the back, brought them out and left the check, letting us know we could pay up front. As we were getting ready to leave, we were for the most part satisfied, but the service could have definitely been better, and I would have gotten over it… BUT I was looking at the check at couldn’t figure it out… I wanted to leave a cash tip on the table, but I couldn’t understand the check… typical diner green food slip, but there was all sorts of scratch outs and a bunch of other numbers on the back as well and I really couldn’t make heads or tails of it(I am not an idiot by the way… a BS Physics degree from a Big 10 school), knowing what we ordered and what the prices were. So I did my best guess and left what I thought was a very generous tip(even though the service was not good) of $ 10. We made our way up to the front cash register and I handed her the check and my CC card. She said«$ 115 and change on the card» as she started to swipe and I was like WHAT!!! Our meal could not have been more than $ 45(on the high side) and I got 2 pounds of meat for $ 16/lb so at the most $ 85 w/tax. She saw my surprise just as I was asking for an explanation. Apparently, they charged for juice refills, AND here is the kicker, we were a party of 5 so they automatically added 18% per cent tip!!! I told her hold on a sec, went and grabbed the cash off the table before it was gone, and paid my bill. I was in no mood to be confrontational, but auto tip on party of 5, WTF? Anyway, it was good food so, whatever, right? But I was still stewing on it for awhile and double checked with my wife that we did not see any disclaimer about auto tips for parties of 5 or more… and we were a family, not 5 business guys asking for separate checks! And then it hit me… they included the meats when calculating her tip!!! All she did was go to the kitchen and bring them out and we have to pay an extra $ 5.76 for her??? That did it. I am sorry it was such a bad experience for me because the food was good. Hopefully they will see this post and re-think their practices. I was too timid & polite to make a stink about it at the time, but it will certainly keep my business from them in the future.

Friendly staff and the best breakfast that we ever had. My hubby and I came here for breakfast one morning on our way out from the Poconos area. The breakfast was awesome. We had the Eggs in a Pan Smoked House Sampler and it was awesome! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great breakfast to start your day!

They have great tasting breakfast especially the omelettes. The omelettes are packed with great sides. Very scrumptious! I did NOT like their lunch .I have gotten a chicken wrap. The chicken was rubbery and the lettuce was mushy. I sent it back.

Friendly with a good flow of customers . We were here on a Sunday around 10. Before the post church rush. Not waiting for a table and food came out in good time. Portions were big, even the kids portions were adult size!!! Food was average but good. Corned beef hash was tasty but a bit to finely chopped for my liking. Overall a nice breakfast in friendly not noisy restaurant.

Glad we found this place as it will now be our go to spot for breakfast in the area! Service was top notch, and the potions were excellent. Food quality was good, but the menu was nothing grand. I gave 4 stars because it’s simple, clean and the service was good. You can’t ask for much more out of a breakfast spot.

This past weekend I spent some time in Pennsylvania with a few of my buddies. One of them suggested we go to Hickory Valley Farms Restaurant for breakfast, and boy that was a good idea. When you pull up to the restaurant, it looks a little like a house that’s smack dab in the middle of two roads. Upon entering, that feeling is only accentuated by the ambiance of a small, cozy, country home. Ambiance aside, it’s time to talk about food, and let me say we were not disappointed. I ordered the Two Little Piggies meal which gave me a choice of two eggs any style(I went with over easy), two pancakes or French toast(I went for the cakes), choice of meat(scrapple which I had never had but was a soft yet tasty meat patty), and home fries and toast. This was all served in a pan and really added to a home-cooking kind of feel. The waitress also gave us a bottle of pumpkin syrup which was delightful. Even my friend who never goes out to eat loved his breakfast wrap. If I find myself in this part of Pennsylvania again, I know where to have a hearty, tasty breakfast.

This place closes at 2:30 be advised. I give it 5 stars because it was good food and exceeded expectations. It doesn’t have the fancy or expensive décor like a nearby brewery, but it is a simple Pocono Diner, food served in skillets. They BBQ their meat in-house. Great breakfast and lunch. It was priced right. If you are visiting a local water park, make sure you eat here if you venture out. Don’t expect fancy, just good food.

Everything here was delicious, down to the strongly brewed iced tea. The farmer’s omelet came out as an intimidating pan full of crispy homefries and a massive fluffy omelet stuffed with plenty of veggies. I was ravenous and inhaled much of it, yet still had enough to take home for tomorrow’s breakfast. The man got the sampler of smoked meats, which, while was devoid of anything to balance out the sheer amount of animal protein(aside from the obligatory pickle), was all impressive. The kielbasa and the brisket in particular stood out. Please– skip the chains in Tannersville and drive a couple minutes further to this awesome, humble family diner.

Good food at a good price. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was really good with large portions, all served in skillets instead of plates(pretty cool). I had the 3 little piggies platter, it had a choice of 2 pancakes or two french toasts, 2 eggs, toast, home fries and different meats. I chose the French toast and substituted French fries for the home fries. Everyone else in my party had similar platters. They were all great. We will certainly be going back.

This is a cute, cozy family restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Big portion and good food. Lots of meat options. We had the sampler that had bacon, two kinds of sausages, ham, and probably a few other kinds of meat I can’t remember right now. Reasonably priced. Great for brunch with family and friends. Our waitress Danielle was extremely friendly. The restaurant was decorated with lots of pig themed decorations and trinkets. Very homey.

Passed by this place as we were leaving Camelback, and boy was it worth it! Couldn’t find a Starbucks outside of a casino and we didn’t want to go into the great wolf lodge just for a cappuccino. We passed by and I was pretty intrigued by the sign… The place was super down to earth and the staff was really friendly and sweet. Food was solid. Big pan of food for about ten bucks. Bacon was delicious. If you want something a little different and really down home… Hit this spot.

This spot is exactly what I would expect in PA, warm, homey, and everyone was very friendly. They give you so much food, it was enough for two meals. I had corn beef and hash, with scrambled eggs, and home fries. The has was great, eggs cooked just right, and instead of being served on a plate it was served in a frying pan, I thought that was a cool presentation. My girl friend got the omelette which was huge, and she could only eat half. Great breakfast spot

This place was a last minute find and it was beyond what I expected. I come from NJ where we have a lot of diners but this place was better than a diner! We got there around 11:05am i believe and it was packed with people and we didn’t have to wait to be seated! I order a Greek omelette(feta cheese and tomato) and hash browns(optional onions and peppers, you can get it without) and rye toast. My bf ordered eggs, corned beef hash and hash browns. The food was out in about 15 minutes and was I suprised. The food came in a huge pan and the amount of food was surprising! The omelette was great. Hash browns were a little bland but s.p.k fixed that. Only finished half the food and brought the rest home. Overall good experience and friendly staff :) good price for the amount of food.

Solid breakfast spot. Okay, so it’s breakfast. I don’t care who you are that’s pretty hard to screw up. We’ve driven by this spot many, many times. Finally stopped in this weekend. Nice old-school feel to the place, old timey pics hanging on the walls and pigs everywhere. We were expecting a bit of a crowd, being MLK weekend, but we were seated immediately. Good coffee, great service, and a nice pancake sums it up. Eggs were done as ordered and their assortment of smoked meats is very good. A little disappointed in the hash browns, seemed like the bottom of the barrel. But I’m chalking that up to being 11:00am and towards the end of the breakfast cycle? We rarely eat breakfast out when weekending in the Poconos but would definitely stop in again.

I love how this place looks, the feel of it and sort of log cabin-ish. As another reviewer wrote, there are a lot of pigs. This place only opens for breakfast and lunch, no dinner. Everything as noted by other reviewers are served on frying pans, unique but the handles do get in the way of things. The portions are large, enough to stuff one’s belly. Their sign states«The best BBQ in the Poconos» but unfortunately very disappointed with the brisket as it was dry and seem it was re-heated on the grille top instead of right off the pit. There were a good amount of it but don’t like the fact that it is not straight off the pit and onto my plate. The service was friendly and attentive, family run business which I am sure we all love to support. My wife had the french toast but nothing to really write about. My friend had the pancakes which were large and on the edges crispy which I like, still nothing to scream about. I would love to try them again next time when we are back, most likely next Christmas holiday. Still a great place for simple breakfast especially the service so when you are around town and like breakfast even in the afternoon, try them out.

Pigs, pigs, pigs. The restaurant is adorned with tons of pigs. Cute place. Seems like a local’s gem of a spot. The restaurant wasn’t packed at all which scared me but my husband reassured me it would be good. And it was! Our food was served in a skillet and who doesn’t love a skillet! My daughter gobbled up her kids French toast so I guess it was good. I enjoyed the farmers omelette. My husband wanted to go here for the corn beef hash and he wasn’t disappointed.
