I’ve gone to the same dentist since I was 10 years old(now mid 40’s). I loved my dentist. He was professional, practical, cost-conscious, dependable, and TRUSTWORTHY. Then he retired. The new dentist provided me with one horrible experience after another: ill-fitting crowns, barely there cleanings, unprofessional attitude and service. I was afraid to try another dentist because off all the rip off artists in the area. After doing a great deal of research I decided upon Gateway Family Dentistry. I made an appointment because I was having pain and swelling in my jaw. Because of another patient’s canceled appointment, they were able to schedule me that same day. When I arrived I was greeted by name by a friendly receptionist. There was only a few minutes of waiting before being invited to the examination rooms. The environment is very clean. During my first visit they found many deep cavities that were missed or ignored by my other dentist. The hygienist and assistant were friendly and chatted with me when I could respond. The atmosphere was professional, yet relaxed. They explained what the x-rays showed and some options that I had for treatment. Dr. McMillian is the same: professional, yet friendly and relaxed. He seemed to be very thorough and took his time both in my diagnostic evaluation and when filling the four deep cavities I had. He answered all the questions or concerns I had and was willing to take the time to explain his answers to me. The only downside is that they want the estimated balance after insurance up front. That can be quite a chunk in the budget, but I completely understand why they would have that policy. Would I go to them again? YES. Would I recommend them to a friend or relative? YES.
